We have a winner! I just got mine, and ran 1000 rounds through it. This is brass that had been sorted using tray sorters, and the 380 was supposed to be gone. Of the 1000 cases, 18 of them were 380. You might say "That's not bad," but just 1 380 mixed in with the 9mm is bad for me. My eyes are older than Brassman's, so I use it differently. Rather than remove the top cover and check visually, I leave the cover in place and run my finger down each row. If I don't feel brass in a slot, it isn't 9mm. Another benefit is easy visual inspection as you can look down the throat of 100 shells at a time, checking for debris, distortion, or anything else that makes you say, "I'm not messing with that one!" Also easy to run your magnet over the tray and make sure you didn't miss any steel in your prior sorts. WARNING! If you show this to a friend, he or she might think you are practicing witchcraft as those shells drop into the holes like a herd of dairy cows go into their stalls at feeding time. Great product. Saves time and damage to equipment. Too bad for Brassman it is such a simple, durable design it will never wear out.
I've been using this Utley sorter for about a month. This thing is pretty slick . I've found the two piece design helps sorting .38 comp/ supercomp from 9 as well as .380 Give it little shake if they are not head stamp down. Then I look for stepped brass, rocks, cracks and dirt.
Update- I had put away my Utley Sorter since 380 range brass has disappeared. But now we are flooded with 9mm Norma brass with a flash hole too small for standard decapping pins, and PPU brass that is a chronic problem with the bulge. Use the sorter, then flip them over with assistance from a piece of plywood so you can see the headstamp, and pick out the PPU and Norma. Also use it to verify there are no 10mm mixed in with my 40S&W brass

Glad you like it David. It sure makes sorting easier and quicker.

My Dillon 550 just stops 380 at the case feeder
Can we just get rid of .380 all together???
Just got mine in the mail today. Thank you!
@@russdennis7026 Good deal!!
@@mrkrisutley Are you the one that makes these?
Yes, I make these.
@@mrkrisutley Anyway I can email you about something?
Curious, why the two piece design instead of just one piece? What does that top piece do?
Makes it easier to grab the .380 with your fingers because they sit below the surface of the sorter.
