    Thank you for explaining this so well! I was thinking earlier that I wish that someone would explain this so that others could understand.
    I’ve seen people get angry when told that those who go to hell will not be continuously burning throughout the ages of eternity. I have said that God’s love for His children is so much greater that our love, it would be impossible to compare it. And I said, could you burn your child throughout eternity because they had not repented for the trespasses that they committed during the short time they lived on this earth? How could they believe that we serve a fair & just God if He were capable of such hate & vengeance? That’s not the same loving, kind & long suffering God that I serve. My God is benevolent, compassionate, devoted, dedicated, empathetic, faithful, forgiving, good, holy, loving, loyal, merciful, pure, patient, righteous, selfless, tender, thoughtful, virtuous, wholesome!
    How could anyone believe such a God could burn someone throughout the ages of eternity?

      So true Bunnie! Love does not rejoice in punishment and torment. It is sad how many Christians have been deceived by the eternal hell teaching, so much so, that indeed they get angry when hearing other people will not suffer forever, even wondering why people would at all repent if hell is not eternal. They have a completely distorted picture of God's character, and a very wrong motive for being a Christian. No one will be scared into the kingdom. Only love will draw and save. It's not about the punishment of hell, it is about being restored to our Creator and King, to be made righteous again. That should be our only motive to want to follow Jesus =)

    Sorry man but ima have to unsubscribe for this. This is heresy. You don’t have a correct understanding of sin. It’s infinite offense to God, so the judgment has to be of infinite value, so that God’s perfect justice maintains. There’s two ways that sin is dealt with. By Christ who has already paid it all with his life, or by hell for eternity. First one is easy, (just believe for a tiny split second on the Lord Jesus Christ, it’s that simple)

    • @iamwastingmytimehere
      @iamwastingmytimehere Год назад

      It's not heresy, nor is judgement removed if the concept of hell is challenged.
      The concept of eternal/everlasting/forever (etc) in the Greek can be explained as something that goes on for all time, or something that goes on until the end of something. It is the result of the act, not the process. e.g. They will burn forever - do we have any example of anything burning forever? Despite the OT stating eternal burning for Sodom it is NOT on fire today, is was fully consumed by fire so that none of it could ever be considered Sodom again. The same with the "everlasting" punishment of Mt 25, the consequence is eternal, forever, cannot be undone, once it is delivered there is no claim to righteousness after it, the outcome is you are gone forever, but the process is NOT eternal.
      The same can be said of eternal salvation, are we forever being saved by the dying of Jesus? No, the act of dying on the cross and being raised to life SAVED us, past tense, so that we now, as a consequence of Jesus' process, experience the outcome of the act... eternal salvation. You can believe "eternal" salvation is a "tiny split second" of belief but not that God is able to quench evil in a split second?

  • @iamwastingmytimehere
    @iamwastingmytimehere Год назад +2

    I very rarely comment on posts. As you can see by my name, I consider it often a waste of time. But I have commented here on this video because it is fundamentally important to our relationship with God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit that we understand WHO it is we trust in and love.
    If we believe in a God who provides eternal punishment after judging a person evil, how can we equate that to a God that is love - not loving - but equivalence, God IS love (1 Jn 4:7)
    If sinful people cannot bear the presence of God and his Glory, like when Moses came down the mountain glowing and had to cover his face after just glimpsing the back of God, how can we believe that a place for sinners can be kept burning near us for all eternity? God is a consuming fire (Ex 24:17, Deut 9:3, Heb 12:29) His glory is too much for sinners to bear, they would prefer for rocks and mountains to crush them rather than face it
    We also know that Satan (his angels, and sin) has a short time, not forever, to do damage. (Rev 12, specifically v12, Rev 20:10, Rom 16:20, 1 Jn 3:8) while Satan starts battles all over earth, it is frivolous because Jesus has already won the war. The war has only two sides, good and evil and each person on earth makes their choice. We have a just and merciful God, He gives every person, every opportunity to choose Him. Even those who face their destruction in the judgement will acknowledge God as fair (Is 45:23, Phil 2:10, Rom 14:11)
    On eternal/forever/everlasting... in the Greek can be explained as something that goes on for all time, or something that goes on until the end of something. It is the result of the act, not the process. e.g. They will burn forever - do we have any example of anything burning forever? As explained in the video, the eternal burning for Sodom... is NOT on fire today, it was fully consumed by fire so that no area could ever be considered Sodom again. The same with the "everlasting" punishment of Mt 25, the consequence is eternal, forever, cannot be undone, once it is delivered there is no claim to righteousness after it, the outcome is you are gone forever, but the process is NOT eternal.
    In Jude 1:6, the angels are in eternal chains... UNTIL judgement, how can eternal and until coexist in a sentence? The truth is in the original language and syntax.
    The same can be said of eternal salvation, are we forever being saved by the dying of Jesus? No, the act of dying on the cross and being raised to life SAVED us, past tense, so that we now, as a consequence of Jesus' process, experience the outcome of the act... eternal salvation.
    I hope this helps, I am so passionate about the incorrect understanding of hell because it is, in my mind one of the most damaging doctrines to understanding the character of God. I believe the judgement is part of the Good News, because without it, sin cannot be forever eradicated. Those of us who love and trust in Jesus, we have no fear of the judgement and no fear of hell, it makes our choice to follow Him uncoerced! Only love can awaken love.

    • @thechristianlife

      Haha yeah I know :P Weird to live there haha. Hell is the moment where God will eradicate sin fully. If people hold on to sin, then they themselves will also need to be erased from existence, that's right. Because a God of love will not force people to let go of sin if they don't want to. He tries to convince them before it is too late, which is the primary reason for why we make videos in the first place. To help restore people back to God =)

    Another thing that’s comforting, is that the fire is God’s love 1 john 4:8. This love cannot exist with sin. And without Jesus, we humans who are so intertwined with sin because of or nature, but just as much own choices, cannot stand when we are exposed to that love, that fire. WE NEED JESUS.
    I do take great comfort tho, that those who died and by their choices choose not to be part of Him, the last thing thing they’ll ever experience is Gods allconsuming love for them and then it will be done for eternity.

    • @iamwastingmytimehere
      @iamwastingmytimehere Год назад

      Eternity and sin cannot co-exist, there cannot be a place and time where God and His people are living together and sin is still hanging around elsewhere... God must destroy all sin forever once He returns to complete our reconciliation to Him. Hell MUST be something that consumes evil once and for all, not conserves it beside us as though eternal torture may have some purpose.

    • @thechristianlife
      @thechristianlife  Год назад +1

      That's a good reply to a good question. I would add to that, the purpose of hell was to eradicate every trace of evil. Satan and the demons were the ones spreading evil, so hell was meant to destroy them. However, when Satan deceived humanity, the human race joined itself to their ranks, to evil. By the human race choosing evil rather than God, we have chosen to voluntarily take a seat next to Satan and the demons on death row. A very sad reality, but thanks to the grace of God each individual is given time to rethink that decision, and to change their mind, and choose God instead.
