- The Apostles Rock Band of Aba were a collection of a talented group of youngsters bent on making a mark in Nigerian music history. As with other contemporary psychedelic rock bands of the 70s, such as the Funkees and the Wings, The Apostles made Aba the commercial city of the southeast of Nigeria a home. Formed in the late 60s, the Walter Arungwa-led band made an impressive impact in the Nigerian music industry releasing over four albums and several singles within the time the band existed. Some of their members include Walter Arungwa, Barry Uba, Murphy Williams, Papa Doe and others. the band toured Nigeria and Europe before their eventual split which led to some of the members embarking on solo careers.

I remember them. They performed frequently at the then Independence Hall, Uyo, in the then Cross River State.
I grew up at UdoEduok Street by Independence Hall. Seeing the big boys and girls of those days goimg for shows at Indpendence hall is part of the inspiration for this channel
