How to Automate Android with the Automate App

- In a past tips and tricks Tuesday, I showed iOS users how to automate tasks on their iPhones and a bunch of you asked if there was some way to automate Android in a similar fashion. So I looked into it and it turns out, there are a bunch of Android automation apps in the Play Store. One of the most popular is called Tasker, which you might be familiar with, and it's great, but I found another one I think might be better for people just starting out with Android automation.

Thank you, this app works!! I watched part of your video, then searched for and found an auto-caller Flow, then edited it to periodically call and keep alive my backup GoogleVoice number. Thank you again for explaining the logic behind how Automate works, with Flow modules and Fibers to connect them.
how can i configurate this app to use it in another app to select something automatically?

I found the free version of Macrodroid useful but wanted more and upgraded to the pro version (half price offer) and have replaced all the Bixby Routines+ so that if i move to a non-Samsung device i will have the same functionality as oneUI 4.0 (android 12) without paying through the nose for the Samsung Galaxy brand!

There's anyway to make a pushbullet notification start the flow? i am trying to do wake on lan using a flow but i don't want to enable the flow everytime i need to do this. Instead i want to activate it with pushbullet notification that i will trigger with google assistant

When I use 2 flows to start a video with both cameras it fails.

Does anyone know how I can (if I can) check the contents of File list output, the array of filenames?
I simply want a feature that would check my screenshots folder and if the folder has screenshots from a certain app, it would move them to another folder. I want to check the filename and move them based on that.

Possible to make this create an autoclicker for an app that I'm running? If so how would I go about doing that?
Use the "interact" funtion and sympy create a loop (conect the bottem to the top of the block) you will olso have to figure out what the coördenates are of the point you want it to click, i advise messing with it a bit and seeing where it clicks.

Thanks. Good but I would have appreciated a flow that starts based on an event as opposed to having to select the flow shortcut or selecting start from within the Automate app.
I read that selecting start on the flow is a 1 time thing but I presume that is (at least) each time the phone starts? I want a flow to be able to start automatically when the phone starts.
Please look at Macrodroid for its different event based triggers

I've searched everywhere, high and low for this answer and can't seem to find it.... So open call any automate users.
I have always used ES File Explorer and like it because I can play entire music folders or caches by long pressing the folders and playing them. It's simple and convenient especially when playing discography folders or playlist folders without having to actually create a playlist. I can just drag and drop and boom I got a playlist. So I have setup automate to open ES File Explorer as soon as I connect to a Bluetooth. Is it possible to set it up where it can open up my music folder automatically as soon as it connects? That'd be way more convenient. Thank you so much if you know the answer to this and how to do it. You've gained a partner in crime for life.
You can make a shortcut of the music folder in es, so it could be faster to access

Actually, if you turn off recursive copy, it will still copy the files directly inside the folder.
And you don't need to tap and hold to make connections

Can this be used for something like, Auto switching between accounts in a particular app? I counted 13 steps required just for me to go from one account to another, am I in the right place?
Is there a way to automate a process where when you open app by automate then navigate within the app through the flow.? For example, automate launch camera then tap to video and record. Can automate or any other can accomplish this? Also, if there are multiple app to accomplish this simple task how to start each one automatically?

Easy. When device not interactive, turn off data. When device interactive turn on. I'll make a flow so you can see what it looks like. Search for data off when phone off.
Edit: that search doesn't show up, search for shutdown prevention, and look at my account, it should be there.

How can I start a app everytime the phone powers on( for insulin pump readings). By power I mean everytime it turns on such as phone died, update restarts the phone etc..I can get the app to launch in a a flow but need to start flow with power (phone starting up) its a galaxy s20 5g FE. BadMadPlay set up a delay at 24 hours then add a block "interact touch" then set the desired position of the tap. PS. The position must be in percentage. If you don't know the percentage, enable the show pointer location in developer settings then look for your location. Then after that use the formula (posx * resolutionx) * 100 and (posy * resolution y) * 100. What this does is convert the position into percentage. Thank you for reading.

I have a issue with google maps im sure this can fix but i feel so dump...
When using google maps with multiple stops/waypoints on a trip... when you arrive at any stop.. you have to physically click continue or it wont continue with your journey... this is annoying when on a motorbike... all i want to do... is have it auto clicked ever time..

It's really a great application, but the downside of it , many functions aren't supported in android version 10 and above , for example, to disable WiFi Bluetooth or airplane mode, Wish can be tackled, it's free application.

Marcel Gabriel i used a block called fork, connect another app start block to that. you will find it in the flow category. so it would look like this:
start app > fork > start app
oh but make sure you connect the second "start app block" to the output called NEW. you will see it on the "fork block"
