The book of Jude certainly makes it seem like the angel of the Lord is Jesus, he says our lord Jesus led them out of Egypt, and the Angel of the Lord is the one who went before Israel when they were leaving Egypt. And Angel just means one who brings a message or word, it doesn’t just mean cherub or seraph which is what most people think of when they hear the word Angel, they don’t realize that a human being, a seraph or whoever can bring a message word. And in John he calls Jesus the Word, ie the Message, or the Angel Not only that but the Angel of the lord speaks as if He is God multiple times in the OT, even though he might not be sitting on a throne looking down but is walking around having basics conversations with people, whether in a glorified form or blending in as a man. Hagar says she saw God when the angel visited her, Jacob says he wrestled with god when he saw the angel, there was a couple who had a man visit them and they said they saw God and the husband was afraid they would die. The angel appears to Abram and Sarai and tells them I will give you child, as if he is God himself, he doesn’t say this is what he lord says, he speaks as if he is the lord, and many other times I can’t think off the top of my head. Yet, exodus 33 20 and John 1:18 make it seem like no one has ever seen God and lived, so how can this be? Is this a contradiction? I think this is why the trinity makes perfect sense I don’t claim to understand the trinity in its entirety as Gods nature is truly a marvelous mystery, but it seems to me, YHWH the father is the being or manifestation of God outside the physical realm, we are unable to be in God the fathers presence in flesh and blood. He is too powerful. He sits on the throne in heaven and flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, being in God the fathers presence will kill you, he is too powerful God the Son or the Angel of the Lord, seems to be Gods being or manifestation in the physical realm able to interact with creation, still God, but a separate being in a different realm. He has the authority of God the father from heaven on earth, this is how YHWH can rain down fire from YHWH on sodom and Gomorrah David says the lord said to my lord. This is how the lord “walks” through the Garden in Genesis, it’s God the son not god the father. God the spirit seems to be everywhere, not confined to one body as a spirit is ethereal, but can take the form of one if he wants too. He also has the authority and power of God as he hovers over the waters and orders the cosmos in Genesis and in revelation the spirit of God is also in heaven next to to the father while the son approaches the throne. So this is how God can be everywhere at once maybe? And God didn’t stop being God or come down from his throne when Jesus clothed himself in flesh, the Spirit is still everywhere and Father is still on the throne. This ain’t to say the other persons in the trinity can’t do what the others do such as the Son being omnipresent or the Spirit taking a form or the Father making himself manifest or interact with creation, it just seems in scripture to me, these are the roles they generally partake in when it comes to us as people That is my understanding of the trinity but again I’m not claiming to be the final word on this matter.
What could help you sharpen up your language when speaking of the Trinity is reading the Athanasian Creed. Also just watching the funny video by Lutheran Satire - just youtube “that’s modalism Patrick” even though its satirical it is a great way to learn more about how we speak of the Trinity We just want to be sure to sharpen up our speech when we speak of such things and not fall into the trap of 1 God who puts on different forms ; or 3 separate Gods. But it is 1 God who exists eternally as 3 coequal persons who serve different roles but each share all the divine attributes and nature of God as 1. Hi ! You need to remember the three persons received by Abraham (or should I say Abraham was invited haha). How many persons ? 3 ? So all three are Jesus-Christ ? No just one of them. The first one is The FATHER, the second one The Son and the last one The Holy Spirit aka the Angel of the Lord (because later just two angels went to Sodome and Gomorrha). But who is the angel then ? Agar in the desert, Moses in the bush, and...Daniel ! (and Ezekiel and Zakarhia). The angel of the lord is a title for Yahweh, who's lord of the Israelites. However, he's clearly not God/Christ himself, but like the title suggests, he's one of the Elohim, or the highest messenger/angel of God.

Completely misguided! Pls read your Bible. The scriptures talks about a special angel many times in the old testament the Angel of the Lord! The same Angel was called God by those who had encounter with him and he also calls himself God and speaks as God in the burning bush and to Abraham when he was to sacrifice Isaac. Note that the same Angel was given power by God to forgive the sins of the isrealites in the wilderness. So who else can this special Angel be if not Christ?

Hi ! You need to remember the three persons received by Abraham (or should I say Abraham was invited haha). How many persons ? 3 ? So all three are Jesus-Christ ? No just one of them. The first one is The FATHER, the second one The Son and the last one The Holy Spirit aka the Angel of the Lord (because later just two angels went to Sodome and Gomorrha). But who is the angel then ? The angel of the lord is a title for Yahweh, who's lord of the Israelites. However, he's clearly not God/Christ himself, but like the title suggests, he's one of the Elohim, or the highest messenger/angel of God.

Jesus would not and did not appear in the old testament before He was born. He wasn't born yet and therefore, did not exist as the Lord made flesh. To do some sort of pre-incarnate appearing would actually have been a deception. The angel of the Lord has a very specific and particular assignment to be the personal messenger of and for the Lord. He is the Lords spokesman and he spoke and acted directly on the Lord's command. In some of his interactions with people the angel spoke of the Lord in the third person. The Lord spoke of Himself as I, I am, My Spirit, I will, have I seen and many more times.
The angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph after Jesus had been born and therefore can not be the Lord himself. There was no pre-incarnate appearance of Jesus. Those appearances were mostly angels but in a very few, very rare occurrances were the Lord Himself. Sometimes Jesus spoke of things that He did prior to His birth as a human revealing that He was the Lord made flesh and He is the Lord God.

Angel comes from the Greek word angelos, in the Hebrew Bible, angels are called malakh, and just like angelos, malakh also means "massanger"
That word (malakh) can refer to a divine being and a human being, in fact there were 88 cases where humans were called malakh/angelos/massanger in the Hebrew Bible!
For example, the people sent by Jacob to meet Esau were called Malakhim
And now the Bible makes it clear that God can also be a messenger! The angel of the lord is not merly God's spokesman...that idea came from judaism and the book they used to provide the information is not even Canon and contain heresy! It is in the book of Enoch!
In the book, Enoch is raised to heaven to become Metatron (an angel) and Metatron is the "angel of the Lord" or God's spokesman...In fact rejecting the Trinity has made the Jews struggle with several biblical verses where the "angel of the lord" claims to be God, metatron being God's spokesman is the answer they can give but even that idea again came from the book of enoch...and that book is not even Canon ಠ︵ಠ
Completely misguided! Pls read your Bible. The scriptures talks about a special angel many times in the old testament the Angel of the Lord! The same Angel was called God by those who had encounter with him and he also calls himself God and speaks as God in the burning bush and to Abraham when he was to sacrifice Isaac. Note that the same Angel was given power by God to forgive the sins of the isrealites in the wilderness. So who else can this special Angel be if not Christ?

In the OT people commonly mistook angels for God and the messenger of the Lord in particular. The angel manifested the bush that burned but was not consumed as the Lord had instructed him to do. It was Jehovah the Lord himself who spoke to Moses. It was not Christ. Christ did not exist at that time as he had not been born. This attempt to equate the messenger of the Lord to Christ is due to a misunderstanding of the nature of the Lord in the spirit and how His nature was forever changed when the Lord became Jesus.
