Although it looked funny at first, I felt bad for the person who had the fear of velcro because you can tell it was not easy for them while to us who does not have a phobia it seems like nothing. I'm proud of them tho for facing the fear afterwards.
I think it was less of a fear and more of a sensory issue. That’s how I am with gum popping or mouth popping bubble noises. So it was more painful than scary
Absolutely never use any food on a girl like that. On a guy, it just seems weird but on a girl, you'll mess her PH up for weeks, she will be miserable.
I feel like the velcro one was more of a sensory issue than a phobia. People don't react like that to phobias but they react that way to sensory aversions

As someone who's done exposure therapy, I'd like to applaud everyone who agreed to be in this video! Being exposed to your phobia -- especially in a public way -- can be really intimidating, and they were all so open and willing to put themselves out there. Bravo! That said, I don't like how they treated the person with the velcro phobia. It seemed cruel when they were clearly so uncomfortable.
When the girl with the ant phobia was talking about how she'd never seen ants on her picnic blanket or else "you'd see another side of her," I really felt that. As someone with several phobias myself, I really really felt that lol
Curtis was so wholesome here, he genuinely tried to help some of them and didn't make fun of anyone. Especially the one with the spider, where he had the spider crawl on him first to show the girl it's okay. Very empathetic and supportive 👏❤️

@@Tyrone-v2r I mean the quaintness is part of what makes it iconic for me: Random girl's genuine reaction to the roach + the good editing == lovely moment. Little moments like this are more novel to me than anything that's meant to impress me nowadays so here we are ☺
I don’t think some of the people had actual phobias mostly just fears bc a phobia is so extreme that they wouldn’t be so open to facing their fears so easily/fast. Especially when the girl was holding the spider and calling it sweetie. She just had a fear. Phobias are so intense it literally would probably take therapy/more time to overcome. Jay definitely has a phobia of rats 😭
What the guessers did with them is what is done in therapy to overcome phobias, tho. It's literally called exposure therapy because what you're looking for is the person being capable of 'going through' their fear. If you go to exposure therapy to get over your phobia, you should be open to face your fear directly, because that's the entire point of the therapy.
I agree, I have an actual arachnophobia and the thought of even holding one doesn’t occur to me! I even had to turn my phone away and slightly cover the screen during that part of the video

Yeah. I'm freaked out by large insects, I don't want to be around them, but I'm not afraid to the extent that it would cause me distress. However, I have an actual phobia of fire. I can't be around flames at all, not even a tiny candle. I get really stressed and anxious about it, I start thinking it'll cause an accident. And it impacts my everyday life, for example, I'm constantly terrified when cooking. That's the difference between a fear and a phobia.

i think the reaction of Jay's towards the rat illustrates the difference between a fear and an actual phobia. I think most of the people in the video had more or less strong fears (the girl with the fear of ants seemed the closest to a phobia), cause to be fair, they probably wouldn't have agreed to be in this video in the first place lmao but Jay's extreme reaction and complete refusal to even be in the same room as the rat is illustrative of an intense phobia. My mom has a phobia of snakes and she can't even see a picture of one without losing it like that
I just commented the exact same thing! It’s really unfortunate how the word “phobia” is misused because it’s genuinely harmful to those who really experience it. The way the girl reacted with the rat reminded me of my family member who is deathly afraid of ALL rodents. Most people with phobias don’t even want to look at them on a screen.
I relate heavily to the person who hates velcro (giving a lot of the signs of someone with sensory issues). As someone with sensory issues, certain things people might laugh at make my skin crawl or make me want to scream. I wish people would be more accepting and understanding of people being against “silly” things.

Ugh, that's my phobia and it drives me absolutely crazy. It draws such a visceral, deep seated and almost violent disgust from me. It's such an illogical phobia but it is SO real and people just don't understand it when I explain it to them. It's a hard pass for me.

I'm so annoyed with my phobia of spiders, I get that they're cool and useful but they just make my skin crawl when I see them. Somehow tarantulas make me feel less weird, like their size and "hairiness" makes them feel more like animals I guess?
I’m the same way with spider size. The bigger they are and the fuzzier they are, the less horrifying they are. The only ones that really freak me out are daddy long legs. It’s the tiny body and the long thin legs, it’s just so gross. My roommate is terrified of all spiders so I have to deal with every one that finds its way into our house. I always do the catch them in a cup and release outside method.

Honestly I can’t decide if I’m more terrified of roaches or spiders but my reaction is the same as Jay with the rats for both of them. I literally run and scream and jump onto furniture and gag
Tarantula girl faced the hell out of her fear. Also, the tall girl guessing is freaking gorgeous.
Curtis helping everyone face their fears was so wholesome, he’s a sweetie
Anita is absolutely gorgeous
IKK IM SEARCHING FOR HER IG @😭
11:26 omg the girl that said what the hell would be me lmaooo if my friends did that ever!
It's cute how the spider girl was so scared yet still gave the spider her other hand to step on
12:07 “It’s Naked! It’s Naked!” - Jay

I am SO happy no one in this video had trypophobia, I would've clicked of immedietaly😂😭
I was waiting for this but luckily not
Is that the tiny circles? Yeah that makes me nauseous
Ugh, that's my phobia and it drives me absolutely crazy.
It draws such a visceral, deep seated and almost violent disgust from me.
It's such an illogical phobia but it is SO real and people just don't understand it when I explain it to them.
It's a hard pass for me.
Bet you just wanted people to Google trypophobia to discover that they may have it too 😅
I came here to the comments first to see if there were any holes in this video because... I also would have clicked off lol
10:58 “weeengs…peekzah”

Curtis is the funniest guy that has ever blessed this channel
curtis made everyone so comfortable, it's amazing to see!
@@nopenope9118 im completely the other way, hair on a bug freaks me out. most spiders im not afriad of but tarantulas are a no
They are just 8 legged puppies
@@nopenope9118I love almost all spiders but daddy long legs just look like they shouldn't exist
@@korruption2802same, the hair prickly ones are a big nope from me.
I am hollering at 13:45 and on omg 😭😂
the velco person is so real. if someone came at me with a microfibre towel id leave the room
Duuude, i hate the fact that they all kept ripping the Velcro even after seeing how much the other person hated it :(
Exactly it seems so insensitive and the fact sensory issues can be painful too
them all being scared of the bottle of ranch is taking me OUTTTT
10:31 LMAO their reactions
5:43 bro moaned..
Fr
4:58 Stop that “Why?” made me start rolling 😭
What a lovely video! You couldn't have chosen a better set of three people 😀 They all had charisma with the line-up and handled them so respectfully and it was amazing to see so many people try something that absolutely terrifies them. Beautiful comradery in this video!
