I prefer the Butterworth to the Somervel but I love singing them both (and accompanying myself). I discovered them in my teens and had to take them from the library for limited periods only due to lack of funds. That seems a long time ago now. Recently I bought my own sheet music copies of both and felt rich to be able to afford to do so.
That is a stunning performance.
Beautiful, pure singing. Made me weep
Une interprétation talentueuse! Le piano aussi... Thank you!

Wonderful, committed performance. Thank you.
THAT WAS MAGNIFICENT!
Does Mr. Ashwin ever venture to this side of the pond?
davvero molto belle queste songs
spectacular
Try and find that of my old teacher, John Carol Case. That's the definitive one for me.
And form me too. And marvellous Daphne Ibbott.
Still think the recording of this song cycle by John Shirley Quirk is the best....
That's all you could think of? this eternal comparing... Enjoy every flower in the field. Be happy the young generation is passing on the torch.
