Just ran across this video! My husband brought home some 7 1/2 x 5 1/2 Christmas cards that someone at the VFW gave him, I bought notebooks from Wally World, paper from Hob Lob, and I’m making journals! So cute, thx -
You are one of the best for spreading “inexpensive inspiration creation”. Love all your ideas. I keep all cards sent to us or leftover empty ones. Great ideas! Thanks for sharing, Rita.
Thanks for this tutorial. At my Bible study group we are going to look at how much God tells us to pray. Your journals would be a great pray book so I am looking at all your journal tutorials to make these for my study group at Christmas. I made your chunky pads for Halloween gifts for my Bible group. Thanks much.
Those vinyl covers she was going to toss away-they could be used as stencil material, canning jar lid label, cut to make a long lasting set of shapes (circle, square, etc) teaching tool, bookmarks, divider tabs and so much more
Miss Amber, I discovered you not too long ago and have seen many of your presentations. Just had to tell you this Christmas card one is just a touch of brilliance, thank you so much for this idea‼️ I have two granddaughters that I will be doing this project with- again thank you so much‼️. Respectfully, mary dray
Hi Amber! What an awesome & creative idea!! I love that u left the sentiments & didn’t cover them up. I have a bunch of DT boxed cards from last year, so glad to have another use for them. Tfs ur brilliance with us! Hugs, donna
Excellent tutorial Amber! I love the classic traditional Christmas card designs. Reminds me of the Victorian Christmas scene. Thanks for sharing your talent and tips on where to find the products. Those small notebooks aren't available in many of DTs so it is very helpful to know where you can find them and cheaper too! I might do this for gift giving and will share the finished piece along with my tutorial and link back to you. Have a great day! Happy crafting! Hugs~ Josie :)
I know I save everything, but the composition covers that you threw away, could be used for something. Thank you for showing us this process. It took me a year to find it, but now want to make them, as I have a lot of used cards. Kathy.
Love these tutorials. I made a Gratitude Journal for this year. I’m going to make some for a December Daily to hopefully sell for a little extra cash. I wish I could post a pic here for you to see.
I used those JoAnn's Snowmen cards 2 yrs ago! I love the boxes they come in, since they're so sturdy, and the cards are nice and heavy. I may even still have a few left over :)
Cute journals amber! I buy TONS of cards and use them for journals as well. I dont have many cute cards like this tho, i buy mostly the hot buy cards and most are sideways. Always happy to find cheap ones at goodwill! Tfs
Thanks so much for the tutorial and sharing about the Walmart notebooks! I was super bummed my $ Tree didn’t have the mini comp books. Now I have another option. Yay!
You can also go on the Dollar Tree website and order a case at a time. For those that do craft fairs it might be more convenient just to order the cards and note books.
WeR Memory Keepers is coming out with a bookbinding tool set which might be great for this and other book-making projects. Haven’t seen the price though.
Another great idea, I love it!! Simple, yet beautiful and easy to put together. I need to purchase the stapler. I’m sure it’s worth the “investment”, since there are so many journals to be made!! 😊 TYFS ☺️💕🎅🏻❄️
What a great idea!! These are so nice. They turned out great. I think i will give this a try. I'm working on items for my first craft fair ever. They are fast (which I need) and very pretty. Thanks for sharing these.
I love how you're able to get the staples exactly where they should be. I try and try and they never line up. How can I get it to the perfect alignment as you do. Beautiful journals as always my dear.
I made two of these from cards I received and used my own paper....so cute! To make the binding at the center of the card work better over the paper, I scored two lines close to each side of the card center fold and it bent easier. I still stapled right in the center. Now...what thoughts to write in them????
So how many different craft products on average would you say you Bring with you? You’re already up to nearly 20. do you bring all ? half ? More? if you sell out an item at one do you then work to replenish that same one or do you you move on to new ideas? Or does it depend on how many fairs you have back to back... for example I have one Saturday ... but if I have another the following week do I split up my items and keep some saved away for the NEXT one etc etc . Basically how do you juggle a multi fair season without running out of product but also not going over board on supplies lol
You are turning me into a journal junkie with these fun ideas!!
love this idea. You could use any type card. brilliant!

This is such a cute idea! It could even be "green" by recycling cards we get during the the year.
