What a great snapshot of a certain point in music tech history. Man, I stood in the music stores in the 90s, ogling those high tech devices and browsing the sounds. I guess we all did. :-)
Yup... there's a special Wayne's World-ish feeling to finally getting THAT sweet piece of gear that you've always ogled, right?😋... and in a way, the 90's was the last decade of real music hardware being the standard. Then came the VST's and softwarez
Love this set up. I’ve got a similar set up going. The original launchpad pro is an amazing deal. The midiquest/patchbase on the older iPad is a great idea as well. I love what I’m seeing. I love seeing people make magic happen with lessor known or vintage gear combined with modern sequencers to pull all the features. Turning 19 inch rack synths and pedal boards into a massive modular synth. There’s nothing more satisfying than hearing older tools make a new sounds. Thank you For the creative and innovative rig and rundown.
Alesis HD24 and Alesis Masterlink for you. I do have the Proteus 1. I used it last week to make a bell like tone and then sequenced. I like it a lot for aaaahhhhs, string and pad sounds. I always have to use delay and verb when I'm mixing.
Yeah... Those Alexis boxes are cool. But for some reason still quite expensive on the used market here in Denmark. Think they're still used in theaters a lot. Those Proteus choirs and pads are awesome👌😉
@@MartinYamMoller I'm a fan of Pet Shop Boys and Proteus 1 has some sounds off the Behavior album. You can get the regular Alesis HD24 instead of the XR version. I'm not updating my iMac so I'll be getting one of these hard disk recorders. Use it like tape.
@@MartinYamMollerI have a question , 5 months later do you like the mv1602? I want a mv802 I am wondering if you think the sound of the mixer is nice, and how good are the EQ on the bigger guy 🤔
@jacobthebatchbandit3092 thats a little difficult to answer... It's sounds 'harder' than the Roland i had before, but the Roland had a bit more useful saturation. The EQ's are ok... But only for general sculpting. In this kinda setup, you 'mix' by selecting the right sounds. Make sense?
Yeah, I've thought about it. But it would kinda run counter to the idea i have, of making this a very quick setup. For instance, i even avoid programming these synths, i just stick a bunch of presets that i like on them, and that's that. Make sense?
@@MartinYamMoller The Line 6 units will set you back a few Hundred each. The Lexicon and Midiverb have probably doubled as well in the last couple of years. Still compared to new Strymon, UA, L6 Helix etc. the racks can still be sort of a deal.
Ok... Think I got all 3 Line6 pros for less than a Strymon Volante😉... Thing is tho, the Volante sounds a lot like a space echo. And that's great. But the echo pro sounds like nothing else. It's has its own thing going entirely. Which which is way more interesting to me
Hola !!! Necesito un synthe rack para guitarra que genere sonidos de aire huracan, etc etc etc Podría decirme cuál es el adecuado ??? Muchas gracias !!!
I use this setup to record a lot of 4-track cassette tapes that I then dj with Very slim chance you'd like that music tho. Called Shuffled Cassettes on Spotify
Signal chain is as important as the sound creators. Most people go the other way around, they buy a new synth hoping that’s where their sound is lurking. If only they knew the joys of sidechaining, but I suppose that would make buying these obsolete boxes a lot more expensive 🫣😁😂

Do you have a video on your recording process? Great stuff!!!
No actually... But I should probably do that. 👍
You have good taste, similar to mine with the T-1 Midiverb and Korg. The Korg is a pad monster, especially if you get the right expansion cards :)
Yeah, I actually have since sold the Korg, found I was using the EMU Proteus more. The T-1 and Midiverb are still in the rack tho.
This is so cool😲
Nice!!!
If you can find these cheap definitely grab them. In the US anyway people have been asking more for these units
Yeah... definitely been an uptick in the prices of these rack units here in the EU lately. US prices still reasonable?

The 03/w can probably do some good stuff with an editor
The Finalizer 96k is what Dave Fridmann used to master most of the records he produced from the Late 90's up until the 2010's
It's a great unit
Definitely.@@MartinYamMoller

@@MartinYamMoller are you kidding?! This playlist is beautiful! Thanks for sharing.
Well, it's a very specific sub-sub-genre... That certainly isn't most peoples cup of tea. 😉 But I'm glad you like it.🙏👍
proteus alesis akai you re my bro
👍
Tge 90s sequencer you want is an Alesis MMT-8
I've tried it, but it kinda bugged me. However it was actually quite MPC-like, which was fun. The Torso T-1 is more full of happy accidents.
When I read the "90's Rack" in the title I was hoping for Pam Anderson.
Still, a very nice setup 😉
👍
bruh so fantano has other passion? lol
Yeah, i get that a lot. He's younger so i kinda came first tho😉 so I'd say he looks like me
