I’m extremely impressed that LEGO was able to fit in a speed transmission gearbox in such a small bike! In the past, we’ve never seen anything like this with a bike, and I didn’t even think it was possible!
Great set and excellent play value. Modifications done so far: the substitution of the 8420 windscreen, new brake calipers, rearview mirrors and the additional shock absorber to balance out the rear. Working now on an alternative old school design using the same gear box and engine.
I bought a Dodge Ram pickup truck back in 2001. It came with 235 hp. I can’t believe the hp on this thing. Thanks for going over the new parts. Another awesome job sir!
Man, I love this build. I got it a few weeks ago for 40€. First time I actually got a good Lego deal. I think it was a steal for that price. It is really cool to go through the building process again. Funny thing: Once I got into the page where the gearbox is tested I found out I forgot to put the 1st gear on. The motor only turned in second gear and it took me a while to understand what was happening. I'm kind of a Lego newbie so it was clearly a noob mistake. Going back and disassembling at least 15 building steps wasn't the "thrill and joy" I was looking for when buying Technic sets, for sure.
Were you able to get both gears to turn the motor? When I tested it, I definitely had both gears installed, but only first worked - second wouldn’t engage at all. I noticed the downturn doesn’t engage the internal gear shafts to activate 2nd… can’t figure out what the problem is.
This set is amazing and also, so is the video, as always. Your videos are amazing, in this one, I love the way that you stopped at important parts of the build instead of a timelapse. I find that more informative and it shows the new pieces and techniques
I have this set and I've done some modifications/upgrades on it (some from Rebrickable, some of my own design), but even in its out of the box form I think it is simply fantastic. Even the new BMW doesn't feel as tempting, as one of the things that impressed me most was the Ducati is purely Technic build.
Great overview of a great set! Is it possible to rebuild the stand in such way that the motorcycle does not fall from it by using only the parts from the kit?
Racing Brick I have a suggestion. With the stand add another beam to raise it up so the wheel will function. And with stability you could widen the stand... Hope you see this comment I’d love to know your thoughts. Thanks for the great review!
If you raise it with one beam then the wheel can rotate, but that single axle in the wheel hub cannot hold it straight up, it will tip over. The stability of the stand can be improved but if you want it to be stable then it needs to hold the wheel as well so it won't be able to rotate.
RacingBrick Ok that’s good to know. I guess it’s a choice of one or the other. It would certainly be nice to have the best of both but it seems it’s not easily possible with the way it is.
Love your channel and great review! This doesn't have much to do with the Ducati, but I was wondering what your thoughts were on Buwizz possibly (...?) doing an eventual update to work with power up/ control+... .
bit late to the party, but i've just built this one in bricklink studio, and i was convinced i'd got something wrong with the stand as it kept detecting it colliding with the rear tyre. I guess it's just like that. though the stand really does seem to be the weakest part of the set, it's clearly just too narrow and needed to be a few units wider - both for clearance and stability
Nice review 👍 :) Few things: I realy hoped the shock absorbers would have some sort of damping. The -"error in the instructions"- is no error (my fault, misunderstanding). All arrows go kind of "inside" the holes and point at the upper left quadrant of the hole border. The part with the wrong cross hole and the cross of the correct one even cover the tip of the arrow. The catanas are a great solution :o Are you going to review the T-Lego Lambo from Cada? :)
Well I did not call it an error, but a potentially confusing step :) Changing the camera angle would definitely help to avoid it, I'm sure others will also fall for it. About the Cada set I'm not sure yet if I can squeeze it in my schedule, we'll see.
@@RacingBrick okay any motor works but then how do I connect it to the back wheel (I’ve ordered the Ducati and it’s arriving Tuesday) I don’t have the bike so idk what fits
hey Racingbrick, I want to tell you something, on your videos, there are some parts(building , functions , opinion etc) , if you go to the description and you post sth like this: 0:00 General overview 1:37 Building 4:20 functions sth like that, RUclips will grab it and will do some things and the playback bar will split up into the diferent sections , btw, good video!
@@RacingBrick they aren't links, it's just leaving the timestamps in the description, and, it works for everyone, it just splits the bar into the different segments
It's so random that you can only buy it in Europe now... I understand that it is harder for lego to pump out larger sets but this isnt that big, plus it's a really big gap for when it will be available in the us
@@RacingBrick I dont really know... possibly they wanted to take it slow so by the time August comes around they may be hoping to have more employees back at work

Same, it's really impressive.
One of my friends is a huge fan of Ducati and has one of his own, different bike, so I am going to get this set for him

Finished the old school alternative resently...this set is definitely one of the most under rated Lego Technic motorbike sets.

Id been waiting for your review since the images came out. Nice review as usual.

Same here. I don't know what I've done wrong exactly but im going from step 53 back to 26😅

This will make a perfect gift for me and my uncle I like technic and he loves Ducati. This is going to be a crazy Christmas
I really like you building videos with narration, it's something new and fresh and pretty interesting :)
Thanks, glad you like them!

7:45 oh, that's why they call them ninja bikes, because they carry concealed weapons! *o*
When I was scrolling through videos, I didn’t think this was an actual Lego set, but a moc.
If lego make a kawasaki ninja set on the future I hope they add the katanas too 😂😂
Same would apply if they ever build Suzuki Samurai
It's already out

Finally got this set, I'm so satisfied with it.
The set looks so cool.
4:45 what about the blue pieces one of them is in the way.. still can’t install..
i’m really happy that lego basically made the bike but in lego and a smaller size!(except for the gearbox)
This set is really good. Great video.

When i get to the part where utest the gearbox it only works when i turn the gear and not lever thing idk y pls reply pls help

The solution to the stands is make a beam thats up make it exactly the same as on the other side
Released in USA August 24. Got mine at the LEGO store.
I have got the lego set and I have been following along with the vid! Helps a lot! :)

Thanks! Well you should ask them about this, I have no information about any updates yet.
I know, it's 1 year late.. but, can you make upgrade mods for this ducati? Please :D
They already sold out by the time I ordered one on the morning of release day, will have to wait for delivery in July.
You haven’t attached the rear tyre to the rim properly
been waiting for this
ANOTHER ONE???? THANK YOU RACINGBRICK
Racingbrick, when are you gonna do a shock absorber comparison?
6:41 for some reason mine wheel head dosen't fit in there and idk why

It looks like the stand it meant to pin the wheel in place.
THANKS FOR THIS RACINGBRICK
Please review 42202 vs 42107 ducati v4 r.
42202 isn't even out yet :) I'll review it for sure when I get it
Super cool build
You should do a giveaway with one of the sets
Silly Joshua yes
that's a silly
Why should he?
i dunno why it gave me axiety when you open not with the push tab
Lol the pushtabs never work for me, I open it the same way he does now.
This one is a bit taller than the original bike. The real-life version has a lower profile and more aggressive to be honest.
PROPER HARLEY DAVIDSON STREETGLIDE/ROADGLIDE PLEASE
Very good review. I was evaluating this Lego set to do a speed build in mu channel since I like motorcycles a lot.
Amazing content too 😁
Nice vid
I LOVE YOU RACINGBRICK
easy removal and placement of the panels?
Great video. both tires are backwards, cheers
Thanks, luckily it does not matter :)
@@RacingBrick 🙏
What scale is this? If it is 1:8 scale, then I will be interested in getting it to go along with LEGO's 1:8 scale cars.
Not 1:8 scale, more like 1:6

Please can someone tell me what that motor he used to spin the back wheel is called because I want to buy it
It's a Power Functions Large motor but you cannot buy it new anymore. For such purpose literally any motors will do.
@@RacingBrick okay any motor works but then how do I connect it to the back wheel (I’ve ordered the Ducati and it’s arriving Tuesday) I don’t have the bike so idk what fits
@@H17388 I don't remember exactly, I think I replaced the rear axle with a longer one and that was connected to the motor

I will pay big money if Lego brought out a HONDA VTR 1000 SP1
For what age do you recommend this set for?
It's a 10+ set, but I think even younger kids can build it if they have some experience with Technic

August 24. Just got mine at the LEGO store.
How long does it take to build
Took me three hours, but I'm a 58yo novice with arthritic fingers like sausages.
lehetett volna némi léghűtést előre.

How is this detailed? He already has the pieces pre built..
32cm really ? Or 20/22cm ? Thank you.
I can forgive the missing seat and the non-sequential gearbox, but not the engine that is off-center in the frame! Unacceptable error in my opinion...
Molto bella
