Today I heard the sad news that Donny passed away this day 23rd August 2021. You are now re-united with Phil and rocking heaven to it's core. Rest in Peace.
I'm 39, a musician, and I gotta say the everly brothers was a big influence in why I play music today. Thanks guys for all the great tunes and R.I.P. Phil everly. U will always be missed and greatly respected.
I grew up with the wonderful Every Brothers. I loved and still love their beautiful melodies. Miss Phil Everly, a beautiful soul Dear Don, stay healthy, safe and keep singing. God bless you and Phil and your families.
I had the privilege of being there that night and oh how wonderful. Never forget who started it all. I love you Donald. It was so good to hear you sing once more. I wish you longevity, love and happiness. Thanks for the music and the memories, Don and Phil. Priceless.
I never attended a concert by The Everly Brothers in their prime (wasn't born until 1958, so how could I have). But I did at least get to hear and see Don and Phil perform with their beautiful blood harmonies at a free outdoor concert in Boston in August of 1995. Would I have preferred to have heard and seen Don and Phil in 1958 or 1962, sure. But them's the breaks. I have enjoyed and listened to many different musical acts (and genres of music) in my half century plus of life. But I think the music of The Everly Brothers may be the most naturally beautiful human voices I have heard.
I have a question! Why was Don not at Phil's bedside when Phil died?! !my husband passed February 24 2020! Not only me but our kids, grandkids, my husband's brothers, our xinlaws, brothers wives, and friends of grandkids!!! The staff were wonderful! We had a whole waiting room! They brought sheets pillows coffee!! And all you hear bad about VA, husband never had problems with them!!!
Sorry I wasn't there in person......Would have been grand to feel all the love in that room.....Love, good health, and long life to you, Brother Don......You have aged so gracefully, and are looking great. Thank you for sharing, Erik....RIP Brother Phil....I know you were singing with Don from the great beyond.....
Thank you Luanne. I initially cancelled for personal reasons, and the ticket arrived anyway. The cancellation had not crossed the salespersons desk. I called them, rebought the same ticket and rebooked hotel and plane. I am forever glad that I did. What a show. And it was so good seeing Don again and hearing him sing one last time.
Yep ! The Everly Brothers were the benchmark to aspire to and most didn't come remotely close to all the talent of the boys ! It wasn't just the beautiful sound of their voices it's what vocal chemistry and illusion of a mysterious third voice that occurred. There talent is recognised but still lots will be written in the future! A gifted duo that are missed beyond words.
Would love to have been there!! Don, Phil was with you!! I am 65 and as I get older with health issues, I grow with respect to you and all that can continue to share your talent!! Some day in heaven God will have a great concert!!! I plan to be there too with our GOD!!! Sincerely!!
I'm 67, actually same age as you! And I swear I'm getting younger. That's how it feels to me anyway. No way am I going to get older! You have to live before you die, stop going on about it, and live now!
I'm so glad I got to see the Everly Brothers in a Dallas outside concert. They put their whole heart into this concert. It was awesome the romantic mood they created. Loved it.
My parents were not musical but a few of the records we had in my childhood home were by the Everly Brothers. I fell in love with their music at a young age. I saw them in Phoenix in the 1990's. They were brilliant. One of the best concerts I've been to. And, Ive been to a lot.
This is so sad. Don seems lost singing without his brother. And then there are those clowns clearly having a good time, but drowning him out in the process. It must have been difficult for him, singing without Phil after their long run over the years. And especially so soon after Phil's death.
@sylviajennings5495 - Yes, Don was very lost that night, being treated like a relic, a "living legend" already relegated to the pages of history. The idiots were so drunk/stoned/whatever that nobody thought to adjust the mic for Don's height and let him sing the solos alone. But, " a good time was had by all."
Phil will never be replaced and is missed so much and should have been in this performance, but as a stand in Nash isn’t too bad at harmonising somthing he’s made a living from.
I saw them twice at the top of their game, the second time at the Circle Star, very intimate on a revolving stage every seat close to the legends. Clearly, they were the most influential vocal group of our time. So sad to watch good talent go away. RIP Don

it would be very nice while the groups from the 50's, and 60's that are still around if they could play together as we lose more or history's singers and song writers every year even the bands or singers i grew up listening to some are gone or going to retire
Graham Nash must have been chuffed to sing with Don Everly. So many of the “British Invasion” bands really idolized the Everlys and tried to imitate their harmonies.
Although Graham Nash has one of the best smooth tenor voices in music, his harmony with Don doesn't quite fit. I guess that is the everly magic you know. That it would only be possible when the pair are siblings with matching timber like their voices sounded like one in two parts.
They should have just let him fucking sing rather than try to harmonize. Sorry, nobody could do the Phil to the Don..Stilll, lovely to see the rockers support those who created the platform upon which they presently perform.
Yeah, get over it. Don enjoyed himself, that much is patently obvious. All the others were very supportive, showing love. That's what matters. And how much did you pay to watch this, anyway?!
I totally agree Raechel. Don was always an amazing talent, and this is a very rare opportunity to still let him shine in his later years. Even at 77 (as he'd be in this clip) he was exceptional. Really should have been given center stage though, as you said, to fully appreciate his voice. Those were his solo parts that even Phil wouldn't have sang over. Don't these cretins realise that while they were trying to do Phil's harmony when it wasn't ever there? I love Don's solos on every tune. These fuckers ruined it. Bastards.
Well, congratulations everyone for nearly ruining this with your clusterfuck vocals. You've got Don Everly and Graham Nash onstage, fer chrissakes...hello? Go get a soda and let the big boys handle it.
I really don't think it was meant to be about us this time. It wasn't long after Phil died was it? More about performing friends getting together and being supportive, from what I can see. And they did well, and they were supportive. That's what life is. Sometimes it's just about being human.
I'm curious who that is that shows up about the 1:58 spot, eventually takes off his guitar and rambles to the back of the stage. Seems like he may have had one too many. Looks familiar?
Scary Haboob The other man singing was Graham Nash of The Hollies and Crosby, Stills, and Nash. I smaller chubbier man is Don Everly and his brother Phil had already passed so he wasn't there.
Death sucks. Don sound just like he did at 19 years old. Cut his hair and dye it, and he’s 19 again. I never got to see them in this life. I pray I do in the next.
Don hat's immer noch drauf😊 und sieht noch sehr gut aus.❤

Heartbroken 💔💔
Thank you Phil and Don for everything.
Reunited in Heaven
An emotional moment for true Everly Brothers fans...God bless Don!
Emotional is right. Wow! Thanks for the memories.
RIP Don Everly The legend Brothers has been reunited and will live on forever ❤️❤️❤️
They are all united now, their mother just passed in December. She was 102 yrs. Old
I'm 39, a musician, and I gotta say the everly brothers was a big influence in why I play music today. Thanks guys for all the great tunes and R.I.P. Phil everly. U will always be missed and greatly respected.
The Everly Brothers were inducted into the Hall of Fame in its first year of existence, 1986. Nice tribute in 2014.
Don still getting it done. I hope he never stops singing!

What a fabulous concert that was. So excited to see and hear Don. I hope he felt the love in the room! Thanks for sharing this.
You know he had to feel the love in that room. It was all encompassing!!!!

Yes. Don and Phil Everly had a huge impact on rock and roll in the 50s, where it was just starting.
Second most commercially successful rock act of 1956-1959, after Elvis. Huge influence on artists the Beatles' age.
I saw them at an outside concert sometime in the early 90's in Boston, was a dream come true for me, I've been a fan of theirs since the early 60's.
Last concert I went to was Dion and the Everly Bros together in Santa Fe, 1993. Both sounded as good as in the '60s, how could anyone follow that?
Everly brothers forever!!!
RIP Don - thanks for all the great music!
wie schön ist doch EURE Musik..sie wird immer immer gut sein..never forget..
Nash did a beautiful job. It's almost like he'd listened to it a thousand times...
I think am gonna cry is right... love it, Don and Mr Nash from Crosby, Stills n Nash. Brill!
I was there!
God bless Philip
He was a cute young man and he is also a cute elderly man!
Vry handsome as he got older...
Talent over time always comes to the top, like cream in coffee.
wow, he still LOOKS like Don Everly!

Erik, thanks so much for all the EB postings. I watch them over and over...never too much EB's! Love them both!
His eyes say it all, there in voice but lost without his bro

My lovin' baby is through with me

God bless you Don you are with Phil now rest in peace ✌ Don and Phil brilliant singers ❤❤❤
Don sounded real good. Watched it on yahoo streaming. Only one complaint, they cut all of Vince Gill out.
hope harvell They couldn't show much of Vince Gill because he's gained weight and might block the cameras?
Adios Querido Phil. Gran y Fiel Amigo de adean Reed😯😥
Don sieht da noch so gut aus, mit glatter Haut, kein Doppelkinn und roten Bäckchen.😊
Er konnte auch durchaus alleine singen.

Was this the last time he performed live? What an amazing and beautiful talent. There'll never be a better one.

No one could really take Phil's place, Graham can sing high but doesn't have the sweetness Phil or Don had.
@@G8GT364CI @G8GT364CI - Yes, that is the word for it, "sweetness." There has never been a sweeter sound than the Everly Brothers in harmony.

Sad how age and time ravages us.

LOL. Couldn't have put it better myself. Just a bunch of miserable, whippersnapping, underaged pukes, as my old Maine ex-boyfriend would have said it.
Agree 100%. Don and Graham had it covered, didn't need the others muscling and drowning them out.
Too many hangers on Wanted to hear more Do.

Not sure why Dave Edmunds & Nick Lowe weren't there...
who is the woman with the long blonde hair always trying to get in front?

Not so... They all had a good time - especially Don - and THAT was the point!
Too bad Graham Nash buts himself in and won't step back... lots of others to share.
