Such a good point, I think you're right about that.
He was so outgoing, lovable and being in Hollywood, naturally he put Canada on the map as the country with "nice people".

I saw a documentary the other day about him and was so impressed on what a good man he was. Apparently, he had time for everybody, cared about other people and their problems and would try to help out. He would have been missed even if he had never made a single movie.

I had to hold back tears to watch this...I grew up in Hogtown watching my Double Blue and remember the splendor of that season. I saw the game with the Blues Brothers show and a few others that year. But everytime I go to the Dome, especially for a football game, I close my eyes and I can remember back, like it was yesterday, where I saw John walking on the sidelines, just a shout away. Wish he was here for the 100th Cup, because it was dedicated to men like him who made this league great. RIP

I was privileged to watch some during the CFL's US experiment in Baltimore which was done wrong. They should have played a game or two in the US during the regular season like the NFL does in Europe. Do that for a few years and then look at expanding there. In reality it should stay up north, its not meant to be an alternative league to the NFL, like the USFL was.

What an amazing person. This documentary should have been longer, John deserved that.
Still, incredible to see and hear from the players.
No words will do John justice, I wish he was still alive.

I loved the small role that John played in the film about JFK’s assassination that starred Kevin Costner. He played that New Orleans hustler perfectly. He was such a talented guy. Growing up in Toronto we saw a lot of the SCTV people before they became big stars in the US. All of those folks worked their butts off learning their craft. Nice to see his children.
