I am 62 years now. In our childhood we will be by hearting and telling tables upto 20 to 25 at the age of 10 years are even early. Now a days children are multiplying these with calculators only. I feel this is the very nice way of teaching tables.

ఈ maths టీచర్ effort appreciable. కానీ స్టూడెంట్ కి flair లేకపోతే ఈ techniques fashion గా మారిపోతాయి. ఉదాహరణకి విద్యార్థి 13x17 2021 గా arrive అయితే ఆ తప్పు ఎవరిది. అది 2021 కాదు 221 అని తెలియాలంటే కొంత కాన్సెప్టువల్ flair ఉండాలి. Units place లో double digit వస్తే tens ప్లేస్ లో digit ని ప్రక్కకు carry చెయ్యాలి. ఆ మాటకొస్తే ఏ ప్లేస్ result అయినా సరే డబల్ డిజిట్ వస్తే మోస్ట్ significant డిజిట్ ని next higher ప్లేస్ కి షిఫ్ట్ చెయ్యాలి అనే concept అవగాహన లేనిదే ఏమి ప్రయోజనం లేదు. నిఖిలం కానీ ఊర్ధ్వ తిర్యక్ కానీ ఏది చెప్పినా ఈ స్థాన సంబంధమైన కాన్సెప్ట్ తెలీనిదే ఏమి ప్రయోజనం ఉండదు

భాస్కరాచార్యుడు సూర్యసిద్ధాంతం వ్రాసే రోజుల్లో (ఏడో శతాబ్దం) భయంకరమైన గణితం అవసరమైంది. (అప్పుడు వాళ్ళ ప్రక్కింట్లో మేము ఉండేవాళ్ళం) ఆయన కూతురు లీలావతికి మరి కొందరు విద్యార్థులతో మెరిక ల్లాంటి టీం తయారు చేసి గణితం అభ్యాసం చేయించాడు. ఎటువంటి లెక్కలయిన lightning speed తో చెయ్యటమే వాళ్ళ ప్రత్యేకత. కాన్సెప్టువల్ knowledge ని మనసులో పెట్టుకుని టెక్నిక్స్ వాడే వాళ్ళు. అందుకని లీలావతి గణితం లో techniques వర్ణింప బడ్డాయి కానీ underlying కాన్సెప్ట్ discuss కాలా. బహుశా ఆ స్టూడెంట్స్ కి చిటికెలో పని. ఉదాహరణకు దేనికయినా square కట్టాలంటే
ఇష్టోన యుక్ రాసి వధో హి కార్యః
ఇష్టస్య వర్గేన యుతః కృతిర్వా (లీలావతి గణితం)
ఒక సంఖ్య కు వర్గం కట్టాలంటే నీ ఛాయిస్ అంకె ను కూడి తీసి ఆ రెంటినీ గుణించి ఛాయిస్ వర్గం తో కూడాలి. 27 వర్గం అనుకోండి 3 ఇష్టసంఖ్య తీసుకుంటే 30 ఇష్టయుక్ 24 ఇష్టోనం అవుతాయి. హెచ్చవేస్తే 720. ఛాయిస్ తీసుకున్న 3 వర్గం 9 కూడితే 729. ఉదాహరణకు a స్క్వేర్ కావాలంటే b ఛాయిస్ అయితే a+b a-b హెచ్చవేస్తే a sq మైనస్ b sq దీనికి b sq కలిపితే a sq వస్తుంది.

It is not vedic mathematics. This trick is derived using basic algebra.
(10+a)(10+b) =10(10+a+b) + ab
a, b are the digits here. 10+a+b is the same adding the units digit to the first number. 10(10+a+b) is shifting it to the hundreds place. Then adding the products of two digits in the units place.
In 16×18, a=6, b=8 10+a+b = 10+6+8= 16+8=24, then ab =6×8=48.
You will get 288
