It would be good if you do my lighting technique on The terrain. It would be like a lot good but anyways you just need to cross product The X derivative as a vector with The Z derivative as a vector. The result will be the normal vector; Now dot product the normal vector with the direction of The Sun to get The brightness of The pixel!
