- With our modern/bungalow/simple/affordable fusion house complete, or at least the first phase of it, we're slowly settling in to our province life in the Philippines. We have been trying to get a dog for a while, but still no reply from the shelter(!). Uncle Than gifted us Soup, a chicken meant to become...well, I think you can guess...but we decided to grant her a pardon and let her move in.
Every day may not be exciting, but if the plan is to move here from the US or Europe, it may be interesting to see a more normal day in the life in the Philippines. Most Westerners seem to move to Cebu, Dumaguete, Manila or another larger city, but the provinces have much to offer for a more simple, quiet, relaxing life.
We wish everyone a great 2025, which seems to be possible, at least for the more conservative of us! That said, with the cost of living in the Philippines being much lower compared to the West, I would strongly suggest to any Westerner able to, to consider the Philippines. Beautiful country, sweet and helpful people and different climates to choose from. No matter what: we wish that you manage to build a better life for yourselves in 2025!

I love how you two get on so well...... so relaxed and caring!@! Glad I found your page - looking forward to seeing more.
Thank you!
Yes, we are very good together. Of course we have disagreements etc as everyone else, but all in all we are very compatible. I'm very glad to have found her, and she is so lucky to have found me! 🤣 (Hi sweetie, love you! (She reads the comments))
There are some 16' x 1/2 tubes you can get for curtain rods for about 140 each. We got them at D&M, in Maramag, but they may sell at CityHardware
Thank you for the tip!
We kind of like the bamboo style though, we're even planning to ("some day") clad the posts on the patio in bamboo.
Chicken Noodle Soup 😂
Native chicken does, in my opinion, taste a lot better!
What is that little Nissan van @10:10 ???
Our car? It's a whole thing, with lots of companies manufacturing essentially the same vehicle. Its base is a Suzuki Every DA17 Minivan.
@@ABetterLifePH Thank you !
How much is 250 in US dollars is that? I wonder if you could store your milled corn in metal garbage cans to keep bugs and rodents out? I love your channel! Thanks for sharing.Ron from Roy, WA.
@ronsorenson it’s roughly $5 which I think is a little below the minimum
As Primrose mentioned, 250 pesos is a bit less than 5 USD.
We eventually went with plastic containers. No metal ones, at least suitable, available where we are.
Thank you for watching!
It's a bit lower than standard here (in this area) for construction, standard for farming. Do note that they get paid a lot more than just their daily.
@@ABetterLifePH Yes, it appears you help them in many ways. Things are looking very nice!
@ronsorenson7196 Thank you, and we regard them as friends and neighbors, not workers. Likewise for them. Well, Lourlin at least, nobody understands me (and vice versa) lol. They are very helpful, and proud (never asking for handouts, hard workers etc). Very good people!
Is your editors nickname Dejavu?
Regarding the "upcoming"? If so: we had a poll and a majority wanted it. If something else: please be more specific.
You dont feel shy to tell us that pay 250 pesos day to the workers?
I think in that area the minimum daily wage is 300 pesos so basically they are paying their worker a little below minimum but I think they are his wife’s family members.
@@Primrose_C antwsy, i also live in Philippines and pay 1000 pesos/day to them
Not the slightest. I never said it's all we pay them, just that that is their daily rate.
Not family members, THEIR standard rate, and we provide more than just daily rate.
I seriously doubt you pay 1k a day, every day, for each of your helpers/workers. But hey, if you are: good for you. I don't have a spare million per year, so grats!
