I love the idea with only greek music, what a pity it didn‘t work out! I‘m sure this version is amazing too though, I am only one and a half minutes in, but I‘m already in love with the first song❤️
@@aishbohra743 most myths following the first 3 always end in some kind of fudged up thing or tragedy, e.g Zeus - you'll encounter Hera's wrath and she will haunt you forever Posiedon - raped medusa and her sisters (I think her sisters as well?) in the temple of Athena, in which Athena punishes them, but that's up to debate Apollo - Had a bf that was also fancied by zephyr, out of jealousy he accidentally killed the bf Then you also have a wood nymph, chased her and see turned into a tree to avoid him, cause gods don't take no for a answer But yeah, it's just all around miserable to have a god fall in love with you in general.
More like- Loving Apollo- Instant plant turning (but a lot of his lovers actually had pretty ok lives. You know except the ones who got turned into plants)

After reading the comments, I began to read The Song of Achilles, and from start to finish, I listened to this playlist because it complemented the story so nicely. The songs are very nicely picked, and truly does give me Greek Mythology vibes. 😌

I watched her move, every step she took had more grace than I did in my whole body. Her hair swished behind her, long down her back. Her long skirt danced in the wind. She reminded me of an angle. "Selene," Her brother, Helios, called her over- away from me. "Come here." I knew I shouldn't be here, not with her at least. But she was so perfect- every flaw making her more so- and I couldn't stay away for more than a day at a time. "Brother, please," I heard her say, our eyes meeting. She was so beautiful. Enchanting most everyone with those sparkling eyes. Not that she realized- she was so humble. She never could tell that she was millions times prettier than all her sisters, cousins, and everyone else here. "Selene," Helios' voice was stiff. "Why can't I have one thing?" Selene's voice was so tender I couldn't help but stand from the bench. Her eyes were filling with tears as she reached out to me, as she begged me- without a word- to come over to her. And when she reached out her hand, I was so tempted to walk over. "Selene, put that arm down," Helios tried to pull her away but she stood her ground, our eyes connected. "Selene, you're acting like a child!" I knew I should either go to her or leave, but I was planted in place. Those eyes- her beautiful eyes- trapped me in my place. "Brother," Selene turned her head and suddenly I wasn't enchanted. "I just wish for one single thing, this one person. I will still rise with the moon and dance with the stars. I just want one thing, can't you understand?" I could see Helios weakening, his sister had always been his soft spot. "I'm sorry," He said. "But in this life, nothing is fair. Perhaps someday you'll meet her again, but not now, not in this one. You know that even with all my blessings, it's not truly up to me or you. We just don't get love." Hello, I have a Classics degree and I was always partial towards Dionysus (and Apollo but he's so vindictive, so Dionysus is my number 1 for admiration and respect lol). I very much enjoyed your Playlist in terms of its theme, vibe, song selection, and the fact you originally wanted it to be entirely in Greek. Thank you for putting together something so cohesive, well thought out, and lovely. :) and also for introducing new songs and not using the same ones we always see in every Playlist lol. As someone who is a follower of Dionysus: He's a good one to pick for admiration and respect! He is a very kind Deity, filled with love. He helped me out in some of my darkest hours, and my heart will always belong to him as his follower~ 💜💜💜

“The gods have damned us.” Was all everyone could utter in shush tones. Eyes welling up with tears and hands shaking at the fear those words brought only enraged me. “They haven’t,” was all I could whisper out like the steel of a faithful sword. My words prying their unseeing gazes towards the world around all questioning my conviction. “For how can the gods damn us if they haven’t a care for us?” One single question was all it took to render everything into a deathly silence. None even daring to breath at the accusations I threw out like a stone. None daring to incur the wraith of the gods by even reacting to my words. It was sickening how they feared the gods as if they cared enough to even listen to their creations simple minded opinions. And just as the hush weighted heavily upon our shoulders it was suddenly lifted with the roar of voices damning me. Every person screaming for me to pray for forgiveness. Every god fearing creature pleading that I retract my blasphemous accusation. All screeching about my traitorous thoughts being the reason we were left by the gods. It was infuriating. “YOU DARE QUESTION OUR GODS GOODWILL?!” The hurled question struck me speechless for a moment. A brief moment where a wall made of oak and bricks cracked and splintered into pieces within my mind. And with its destruction came a wave of righteous anger. Words spilling forth as I stood before these fools, “YES! YES I DO QUESTION THEM! FOR WHAT GOD WOULD LEAVE THE HOPELESS TO SCUTTLE AROUND BARELY SURVIVING? FOR WHAT GOD LEAVES CHILDREN TO SUFFER FATES WORSE THEN DEATH?!” I screamed out with tears running down my cheeks. Face a flushing red mess as I heaved desperately for air before continuing in a soft whisper, “You may blindly believe in them, but do not expect me to follow in your foolish footsteps.”

Achilles bowed his head over the cloth-wrapped body, tears sliding down his cheeks to soak into the fabric. Every breath brought another wave of pain over his body because it was another breath that he was taking while Patroclus was not. Patroclus. Oh, how Achilles wished to be with him. For a moment, he let himself imagine. Patroclus would be laying next to him in their tent, smiling up at Achilles as he held out a grape for Achilles to take. Achilles would lean down and gently pull the grape from Patroclus’s grasp with his teeth, biting down on the fruit and enjoying the burst of flavor it brought. When he’d finished the grape, Achilles would press his juice-stained lips to Patroclus’. Patroclus’ lips would be soft and warm against his mouth as his fingers cradled Achilles’ cheek. As their kiss grew deeper, his hands would travel upwards, tangling in Achilles’ long golden hair. When their kiss finally broke, giving the warriors a chance to catch their breath, Achilles would smile tenderly down at Patroclus, eyes soft as he gazed at his beloved. His philtatos. But the cold skin beneath his fingertips reminded him harshly of reality and Achilles moaned, his grief echoing through the empty tent. His hands gripped his long golden hair, pulling at it in a desperate attempt to distract himself from the facts laid before him. Patroclus was gone. He was alone. Achilles curled into a small ball on the ground, trying and failing to forget his agony. I must leave," he continued coldly. A tear slipped down your cheek as you heard his words. "Please..." you whispered. He looked back at you, and the sorrowful look on his face caught you by surprise. "I'm sorry," he said again, his eyes glistening with his own tears. With those final words, he unfurled his wings and launched himself into the sky, leaving you behind with your heart broken.
he looked at me with a pained look. "if i stay...you will be killed." he said, attempting to ignore the tears streaming down my face. "i don't care! i just...i just want to be with you!" i protest. he takes my face in his hands, forcing a soft smile. "i love you. goodbye." and with that, he vanished from my life. forever.

“So?” A soft smirk of triumph on the queen’s darling face herself. Hera, queen of the gods, unbelievably jealous, perfect liar. Her eyes bore down into me, cutting into my mortal form pilled at her godly, immortal feet. My face was dirty, wet with grief. I was going to be killed by Hera, a last resort to hurt her husband. I pleaded for my life, “Please,” I raised my eyes to meet her sneering gaze. “I swear, Queen Hera, I didn’t know who he was. I never knew.” That was the truth. Zeus came to me. He left, returned, left, returned, left and never came back. Hera came for him instead. She hissed, “You will never have my husband, no matter how foolish he may be.” She lashed out her hand, and her ring cut into my dirty, weak skin glossed over with my mortality. “He will never love you, child, no matter how much you want it.” This is knew, even before Hera came and told me of my admirers true identity. Hera came and pulled at the skin of my memories, stripped to the bone. She was right, he didn’t love me. I don’t love him, I believed. Hera picked me up, her unnatural size making me feel as though I was a baby being brought to a crib. To be put down. Her smell filled my lungs, making me choke, a mix of milk and honey. Some stronger flower I didn’t recognize. She whispered, not to me, but to the sky, “This is what happens when you act foolish for your own enjoyment.” She tossed me over the edge of the cliffs overhanging. Her face was hard, her eyes tracking me as I fell. My screams echoed back to my ears, mixing with the rushing winds. There was nothing to hold on to. No roots, no handholds. Air, and water below. So Hera finally did it, made her husband suffer as I fell. Gods know I suffered more at the hands of a petty rival between husband and wife.
I know I shouldn’t love him, but everything about him is so intriguing, so perfectly wonderful in all the right ways. I can’t leave him, I can’t get him out of my mind, I can’t focus on anything but him. He says I can’t have him, he says we can never be. You want to know why? A goddess, the very same goddess who made me feel this way, but she didn’t expect Ares to love me back and leave her. It angered her, it made her ferocious. Her anger weakened my poor heart, it made me ill and Ares knew, he knew that if he loved another man and left her, Aphrodite would be furious…! Yet he continued. He expected Aphrodite to understand how love works in many different ways but her jealousy overtook her. She cursed me, the man he loved, to forget. Forget every detail, memory, feeling. Every damned day I forgot everything, forever immortal. Forever lost and weeping, forgetting. Ares, was in… pain. He knew the consequences yet he chose to love me and have me cursed rather than break my heart. This, is my sorrowful tale, the tale of Amnés. (THIS WAS FUN)

My lover, Dionysus was going to marry Ariadne, not me! I knew that Theseus left her for someone else and that she needed love, but why with my lover, Dionysus? Why not Apollo or Hermes? Or even Aries? These questions befuddled me so much, I wanted to ask him. Tears WERE brimming to the surface of my eyes which caused my vision to blur. He noticed and rubbed my shoulders more intensely, and inquired, with a soft gentle voice, “My dear, why are you so sad? What is making you despair on a day when the weather is so happy to see you?” the words came tumbling out of my mouth, without any warning. “ because, you don’t love me back! You love someone else! You intend to marry them instead of me! You’re marrying her now, Ariadne, since Theseus left her, now you have the right to run off with her, I mean, you feel you have the right to leave me and marry her! And why couldn’t she choose another Olympian goddess or god to fall in love with? Why couldn’t she choose a different patron of the arts like Apollo? Or my sister, CLIO? Or, why couldn’t she have married Aries? Why does she have to choose you of all gods on Olympus? Just tell me, please!” My lower lip trembled and shook, I didn’t dare to bite it down, I just wanted to cry. My heart was breaking! I was appalled that he was trying to do this to me! My upper lip began to quiver Too, along with my hands. I clutched dionysus’s hand, as I spoke again. “ what makes you feel you have the right to do this to my heart? You’re already breaking my heart and you’re not even gone! Please don’t do this to me! I can’t bear to have my heart broken! If I do then I’ll never be the same. All I want to do is be the muse of singing, but you’re ruining it for me! Are you trying to make me the muse of tragedy? Well I don’t like tragedy! So don’t you dare try to force me into this! I love you too much! And if I lose you, then, I don’t even wanna think about then. It’s too sad. Please stay, I need you here. I need you here, not with her. If you go with her, well, if you go with her, that’s it for me, it’s the end of romance for me if you do this. I fell in love with someone because of you, and I do not want to have to lose you to someone else. Love is a strange feeling, it is a fleeting thing that comes and goes, but not all of has to go away so quickly. Sometimes it will stay forever, like the ending of a fairytale book if you know what I mean. But please, don’t break my heart. You’re already making me very distraught! Tears streamed from my eyes when I said this, but I didn’t care, I didn’t care if my emotions were playing tricks on me or not, or if my assigned Job as an Olympian was going to change today. I am braced my lover tightly, and buried my face in his chest and cried. My lover looked at me, a pained but loving expression on his face, he spoke quietly, while rubbing my back. For he’d noticed I was crying a lot by now, making his shirt all wet. But he didn’t seem to care. “ MELPOMENE? Listen, all Greek tragedies need to end this way, you know, not every love story has to be a happy one. Look, I have to do this, Ariadne is waiting for me and needs me right now, I will take you to Olympus, but then I have to go, she’s expecting me right now! And if I don’t go, then she’s going to, try and find me herself. Look, I have to take you home now, before it’s too late. Our time is running short my friend, and we need to say goodbye now. Because she’s coming within five minutes. MELPOMENE, I think we need to start walking.” Dionysus‘s words were still kind and soft, despite the fact that they were very cutting. My chest heaved as soft cries escaped me. I did not want to make a huge scene or else everybody was going to hear me and think I was crazy. Besides, nobody wants to see a muse distraught over something. I tried to keep myself calm as I declared in a strong yet shaky voice, “ I love you.” My heart was breaking really bad now, and, I could feel it! I had a hard time trying to speak, so, I simply embraced My lover for the last time and squeezed his hand as tight as I could. he looked at me and did the same, he then said, “ I love you too, hopefully we will meet on happier occasions. I hate to do this, but, I have to say, farewell my friend, I intend for both of us to meet someday, and hopefully, we will be happier.” I fell to my knees, eyes closing, and simply nodded my head profusely. I was taken to my feet again, and brought to the top of Mount Olympus where the gods were waiting for me. Dionysus gave me a quick kiss on the cheek before turning, reluctantly, he began to walk down the mountain, he looked at me for a final time and flashed a smile, through my tears, I flashed a small smile back, and watched him depart. I didn’t bother to say hi to the other Olympians, my emotions had overcome me, and I fell to my knees again, BAWLING my eyes out, as I rested my chin in my hands, unable to move. I didn’t dare to speak to anybody, the tragedies of falling in love with a Greek God were now upon me, and haunting me! I couldn’t Bear it any longer. I collapsed Face down on the ground, and sobbed, my chin still resting in my trembling hands. Eyes closed, I began to think about all that had happened to me today. The tragedies of romance were haunting me again! And I knew that from this day forward, I’d be assigned to rule over tragedy as an art form and be the muse, Who inspires people to write sad stories which was something I was not looking forward to! And I knew that me and Dionysus’s love was never meant to happen or turn up, it was never meant to be! And it’s all because Ariadne ruin the relationship for good! Anyways I’m sorry if this took really long to write, I wrote this story for fun and I wanted to make it super depressing and, yeah, I believe that tragedy of loving a Greek god is a good playlist, this was really good, the video! So I crafted this! In dedication to the video, and also the Greek goddess who supervises it as an art form, this is her story and my interpretation of it. I plugged the ideas from Greek legends, and made it this! Also I firmly believe the Greek goddess was making sure that I had every detail correct! I think she helped me! Write this! Lil drabble piece this playlist inspired. Not with Greek mythos, granted, but I have a mythos of my own in a particular project so here we are. Tears roll down his cheeks as he stares into those wide eyes, one blue as the sky and the other, silver as the clouds that decorate that vast expanse, both framed by thick lashes. "It's not your fault," Life insists, their delicately gloved hand reaching to brush the dew from his cheeks. He shoves it away. "No. No, don't pretend you care about me. I was just some toy to you, wasn't I? I- how many were there before me?" he demands. They sigh, a deep sadness tracing their strawberry lips. "You have to understand, my rose, I'm as old as the Earth itself and I'll be here long after it fades. In the grand scheme of things, I can't afford to give myself to one mortal. You'll die, it's an inevitability, and I don't have the kind of power my brother does. Of course I loved you, but I'm a god, and you're..." they trail off. "You don't need to say it. I know my life is nothing compared to yours, I just- I wish you were honest from the start, I still would've worshipped you," he says softly. "But that's just the thing, isn't it? I don't want to be worshipped, I never did. I just want to be loved," they sigh, tears of gold beginning to well up. "If you wanted to be loved, then why did you leave so many broken hearts behind?" "You couldn't understand. To a god, a relationship is so much more than a couple of months with someone who catches your eye. To a god, I love you means I love you to eternity, a promise to stay by your side no matter what, to the end of our endless lives. Til death do us part doesn't have the same effect, we don't die the same way. The concept... I wouldn't know how to wrap my head around it, try as I might. I just run away every time before it gets too serious, because I could never match that level of commitment, not with a mortal." they reply, letting the tears down their cheeks. I already know this is about Hades. Even in the versions where he is bad to Persephone, he's still not as bad as the other gods. And in some versions he was good to her. Dionysus and maybe Apollo as well

the original plan for this playlist was to have entirely songs by greek artists! however i tried making & uploading it, but 70% of the songs i included in the playlist were blocked, so i had to remake it based on the theme instead of the language :((
thankfully tho, two of my favorite songs managed to stay, being fotiá and ta mallia tis. they weren't blocked so i got to include them! songs that i could not include but i think totally fit the theme of this new playlist are: se xeno soma (helena paparizou), pali (marina satti), anemos (leon of athens, katerine duska), and s' agapo (andromachi).
i truly wanted to make a playlist of greek music b/c there are so many beautiful songs that i don't think many of us non-greek folks have heard, but sadly because of reasons above, that couldn't happen. regardless, i still wanted to make a mythology-inspired playlist that didn't include some of the most common songs used in this playlist genre (so no achilles come down tho i luv it haha)! so i had lots of fun coming up with what new songs could work
all the songs in this playlist were a little bit slowed down to get that kinda rhythm i was looking for too 🤭
if you've seen the polls, you might wonder why the title was not "loving a greek prince". after i made this new playlist, i figured it was more tragic than originally intended & i thought there were so many tragedies amongst those involved in love stories with gods. the love story of psyche & eros is used visually in this playlist (i.e. first image & thumbnail), which i chose to kinda have this irony to it: those who fall in love with a god expect a happy ending like psyche & eros when in reality too many of these lovers are used, cheated on, abandoned, and/or murdered. so, there is plenty of tragedy everywhere, and this was the angst/broken-hearted feelings i wanted to capture with this playlist
the order of this playlist is kind of like an inner struggle, between knowing that one's love will only bring despair yet being unable to tear away from it, though towards the end, one is able to break away (e.g. aphrodite by honey gentry, "set me free")
I love the idea with only greek music, what a pity it didn‘t work out! I‘m sure this version is amazing too though, I am only one and a half minutes in, but I‘m already in love with the first song❤️

Posiedon - raped medusa and her sisters (I think her sisters as well?) in the temple of Athena, in which Athena punishes them, but that's up to debate
Apollo - Had a bf that was also fancied by zephyr, out of jealousy he accidentally killed the bf
Then you also have a wood nymph, chased her and see turned into a tree to avoid him, cause gods don't take no for a answer
But yeah, it's just all around miserable to have a god fall in love with you in general.

"Aphrodite, huh? You speak like I was forced to look at your and wish for our future. Like my words are not true, springing from the depths of my core, of my very being. To understand that everything we have shared is real, whether she wants to acknowledge that or not.

I watched her move, every step she took had more grace than I did in my whole body. Her hair swished behind her, long down her back. Her long skirt danced in the wind. She reminded me of an angle.
"Selene," Her brother, Helios, called her over- away from me. "Come here."
I knew I shouldn't be here, not with her at least. But she was so perfect- every flaw making her more so- and I couldn't stay away for more than a day at a time.
"Brother, please," I heard her say, our eyes meeting.
She was so beautiful. Enchanting most everyone with those sparkling eyes. Not that she realized- she was so humble. She never could tell that she was millions times prettier than all her sisters, cousins, and everyone else here.
"Selene," Helios' voice was stiff.
"Why can't I have one thing?"
Selene's voice was so tender I couldn't help but stand from the bench. Her eyes were filling with tears as she reached out to me, as she begged me- without a word- to come over to her. And when she reached out her hand, I was so tempted to walk over.
"Selene, put that arm down," Helios tried to pull her away but she stood her ground, our eyes connected. "Selene, you're acting like a child!"
I knew I should either go to her or leave, but I was planted in place. Those eyes- her beautiful eyes- trapped me in my place.
"Brother," Selene turned her head and suddenly I wasn't enchanted. "I just wish for one single thing, this one person. I will still rise with the moon and dance with the stars. I just want one thing, can't you understand?"
I could see Helios weakening, his sister had always been his soft spot.
"I'm sorry," He said. "But in this life, nothing is fair. Perhaps someday you'll meet her again, but not now, not in this one. You know that even with all my blessings, it's not truly up to me or you. We just don't get love."
"And I am sorry too," A new voice rang out through the courtyard- Eos. "I have already alerted the guards."
I was torn from my love, my darling Selene, locked away. Fear stuck me, but every night, before she rose the moon, I saw her- she'd visit me. And when I died, Hades allowed her to see me.

“The gods have damned us.” Was all everyone could utter in shush tones. Eyes welling up with tears and hands shaking at the fear those words brought only enraged me.
“They haven’t,” was all I could whisper out like the steel of a faithful sword. My words prying their unseeing gazes towards the world around all questioning my conviction. “For how can the gods damn us if they haven’t a care for us?”
One single question was all it took to render everything into a deathly silence. None even daring to breath at the accusations I threw out like a stone. None daring to incur the wraith of the gods by even reacting to my words. It was sickening how they feared the gods as if they cared enough to even listen to their creations simple minded opinions.
And just as the hush weighted heavily upon our shoulders it was suddenly lifted with the roar of voices damning me. Every person screaming for me to pray for forgiveness. Every god fearing creature pleading that I retract my blasphemous accusation. All screeching about my traitorous thoughts being the reason we were left by the gods.
It was infuriating.
“YOU DARE QUESTION OUR GODS GOODWILL?!”
The hurled question struck me speechless for a moment. A brief moment where a wall made of oak and bricks cracked and splintered into pieces within my mind. And with its destruction came a wave of righteous anger. Words spilling forth as I stood before these fools, “YES! YES I DO QUESTION THEM! FOR WHAT GOD WOULD LEAVE THE HOPELESS TO SCUTTLE AROUND BARELY SURVIVING? FOR WHAT GOD LEAVES CHILDREN TO SUFFER FATES WORSE THEN DEATH?!”
I screamed out with tears running down my cheeks. Face a flushing red mess as I heaved desperately for air before continuing in a soft whisper, “You may blindly believe in them, but do not expect me to follow in your foolish footsteps.”

Achilles bowed his head over the cloth-wrapped body, tears sliding down his cheeks to soak into the fabric. Every breath brought another wave of pain over his body because it was another breath that he was taking while Patroclus was not.
Patroclus. Oh, how Achilles wished to be with him.
For a moment, he let himself imagine.
Patroclus would be laying next to him in their tent, smiling up at Achilles as he held out a grape for Achilles to take. Achilles would lean down and gently pull the grape from Patroclus’s grasp with his teeth, biting down on the fruit and enjoying the burst of flavor it brought.
When he’d finished the grape, Achilles would press his juice-stained lips to Patroclus’. Patroclus’ lips would be soft and warm against his mouth as his fingers cradled Achilles’ cheek. As their kiss grew deeper, his hands would travel upwards, tangling in Achilles’ long golden hair.
When their kiss finally broke, giving the warriors a chance to catch their breath, Achilles would smile tenderly down at Patroclus, eyes soft as he gazed at his beloved. His philtatos.
But the cold skin beneath his fingertips reminded him harshly of reality and Achilles moaned, his grief echoing through the empty tent. His hands gripped his long golden hair, pulling at it in a desperate attempt to distract himself from the facts laid before him.
Patroclus was gone. He was alone.
Achilles curled into a small ball on the ground, trying and failing to forget his agony.

"Truly, I am sorry," he said, a note of regret in his beautiful voice. "But we cannot be together. I must leave," he continued coldly.
A tear slipped down your cheek as you heard his words. "Please..." you whispered. He looked back at you, and the sorrowful look on his face caught you by surprise.
"I'm sorry," he said again, his eyes glistening with his own tears. With those final words, he unfurled his wings and launched himself into the sky, leaving you behind with your heart broken.
he looked at me with a pained look. "if i stay...you will be killed." he said, attempting to ignore the tears streaming down my face. "i don't care! i just...i just want to be with you!" i protest. he takes my face in his hands, forcing a soft smile. "i love you. goodbye."
and with that, he vanished from my life. forever.

"Loving you was never my regret. Loving you was the beautiful epiphany that kept me whole... but I was too broken to let you paint me with your tears of gold."
She watched as his strong jaw tensed, almost imperceptible to the naked eye, would it be if she had not known him to the very bottom of his soul. She slowly ran her fingers through his fine sun stranded hair and dipped her paint brush into the golden paint. "Ah, but my love, my tears are not of gold anymore, only stars that you catch with your fingers and dot from sky to sky. Now sit, relax, let me paint anew."
"It's okay," a voice whispered in your ear in the dark as you shuddered and held yourself closer.
"It was never meant to be."

“So?” A soft smirk of triumph on the queen’s darling face herself. Hera, queen of the gods, unbelievably jealous, perfect liar. Her eyes bore down into me, cutting into my mortal form pilled at her godly, immortal feet.
My face was dirty, wet with grief. I was going to be killed by Hera, a last resort to hurt her husband.
I pleaded for my life, “Please,” I raised my eyes to meet her sneering gaze. “I swear, Queen Hera, I didn’t know who he was. I never knew.”
That was the truth. Zeus came to me. He left, returned, left, returned, left and never came back. Hera came for him instead.
She hissed, “You will never have my husband, no matter how foolish he may be.” She lashed out her hand, and her ring cut into my dirty, weak skin glossed over with my mortality.
“He will never love you, child, no matter how much you want it.”
This is knew, even before Hera came and told me of my admirers true identity.
Hera came and pulled at the skin of my memories, stripped to the bone. She was right, he didn’t love me. I don’t love him, I believed.
Hera picked me up, her unnatural size making me feel as though I was a baby being brought to a crib. To be put down. Her smell filled my lungs, making me choke, a mix of milk and honey. Some stronger flower I didn’t recognize.
She whispered, not to me, but to the sky, “This is what happens when you act foolish for your own enjoyment.”
She tossed me over the edge of the cliffs overhanging.
Her face was hard, her eyes tracking me as I fell.
My screams echoed back to my ears, mixing with the rushing winds. There was nothing to hold on to. No roots, no handholds. Air, and water below.
So Hera finally did it, made her husband suffer as I fell.
Gods know I suffered more at the hands of a petty rival between husband and wife.

My lover, Dionysus was going to marry Ariadne, not me! I knew that Theseus left her for someone else and that she needed love, but why with my lover, Dionysus? Why not Apollo or Hermes? Or even Aries? These questions befuddled me so much, I wanted to ask him. Tears WERE brimming to the surface of my eyes which caused my vision to blur. He noticed and rubbed my shoulders more intensely, and inquired, with a soft gentle voice,
“My dear, why are you so sad? What is making you despair on a day when the weather is so happy to see you?”
the words came tumbling out of my mouth, without any warning.
“ because, you don’t love me back! You love someone else! You intend to marry them instead of me! You’re marrying her now, Ariadne, since Theseus left her, now you have the right to run off with her, I mean, you feel you have the right to leave me and marry her! And why couldn’t she choose another Olympian goddess or god to fall in love with? Why couldn’t she choose a different patron of the arts like Apollo? Or my sister, CLIO? Or, why couldn’t she have married Aries? Why does she have to choose you of all gods on Olympus? Just tell me, please!”
My lower lip trembled and shook, I didn’t dare to bite it down, I just wanted to cry. My heart was breaking! I was appalled that he was trying to do this to me! My upper lip began to quiver Too, along with my hands. I clutched dionysus’s hand, as I spoke again.
“ what makes you feel you have the right to do this to my heart? You’re already breaking my heart and you’re not even gone! Please don’t do this to me! I can’t bear to have my heart broken! If I do then I’ll never be the same. All I want to do is be the muse of singing, but you’re ruining it for me! Are you trying to make me the muse of tragedy? Well I don’t like tragedy! So don’t you dare try to force me into this! I love you too much! And if I lose you, then, I don’t even wanna think about then. It’s too sad. Please stay, I need you here. I need you here, not with her. If you go with her, well, if you go with her, that’s it for me, it’s the end of romance for me if you do this. I fell in love with someone because of you, and I do not want to have to lose you to someone else. Love is a strange feeling, it is a fleeting thing that comes and goes, but not all of has to go away so quickly. Sometimes it will stay forever, like the ending of a fairytale book if you know what I mean. But please, don’t break my heart. You’re already making me very distraught! I am braced my lover tightly, and buried my face in his chest and cried. My lover looked at me, a pained but loving expression on his face, he spoke quietly, while rubbing my back. For he’d noticed I was crying a lot by now, making his shirt all wet. But he didn’t seem to care.
“ MELPOMENE? Listen, all Greek tragedies need to end this way, you know, not every love story has to be a happy one. Look, I have to do this, Ariadne is waiting for me and needs me right now, I will take you to Olympus, but then I have to go, she’s expecting me right now! And if I don’t go, then she’s going to, try and find me herself. Look, I have to take you home now, before it’s too late. Our time is running short my friend, and we need to say goodbye now. Because she’s coming within five minutes. MELPOMENE, I think we need to start walking.” Dionysus‘s words were still kind and soft, despite the fact that they were very cutting. My chest heaved as soft cries escaped me. I did not want to make a huge scene or else everybody was going to hear me and think I was crazy. Besides, nobody wants to see a muse distraught over something. I tried to keep myself calm as I declared in a strong yet shaky voice,
“ I love you.” My heart was breaking really bad now, and, I could feel it! I had a hard time trying to speak, so, I simply embraced My lover for the last time and squeezed his hand as tight as I could.
he looked at me and did the same, he then said,
“ I love you too, hopefully we will meet on happier occasions. I hate to do this, but, I have to say, farewell my friend, I intend for both of us to meet someday, and hopefully, we will be happier.” I fell to my knees, eyes closing, and simply nodded my head profusely. I was taken to my feet again, and brought to the top of Mount Olympus where the gods were waiting for me. Dionysus gave me a quick kiss on the cheek before turning, reluctantly, he began to walk down the mountain, he looked at me for a final time and flashed a smile, through my tears, I flashed a small smile back, and watched him depart. I didn’t bother to say hi to the other Olympians, my emotions had overcome me, and I fell to my knees again, BAWLING my eyes out, as I rested my chin in my hands, unable to move.
I didn’t dare to speak to anybody, the tragedies of falling in love with a Greek God were now upon me, and haunting me! I couldn’t Bear it any longer. I collapsed Face down on the ground, and sobbed, my chin still resting in my trembling hands. Eyes closed, I began to think about all that had happened to me today. The tragedies of romance were haunting me again! And I knew that from this day forward, I’d be assigned to rule over tragedy as an art form and be the muse, Who inspires people to write sad stories which was something I was not looking forward to! And I knew that me and Dionysus’s love was never meant to happen or turn up, it was never meant to be! And it’s all because Ariadne ruin the relationship for good!
Anyways I’m sorry if this took really long to write, I wrote this story for fun and I wanted to make it super depressing and, yeah, I believe that tragedy of loving a Greek god is a good playlist, this was really good, the video! So I crafted this! In dedication to the video, and also the Greek goddess who supervises it as an art form, this is her story and my interpretation of it. I plugged the ideas from Greek legends, and made it this! Also I firmly believe the Greek goddess was making sure that I had every detail correct! I think she helped me! Write this! And it turned out really good for a Greek tragedy LOL! I hope you guys read and enjoy, like the comment and reply if you want, and be warned, the story has a lot of emotions! Lil drabble piece this playlist inspired. Not with Greek mythos, granted, but I have a mythos of my own in a particular project so here we are.
Tears roll down his cheeks as he stares into those wide eyes, one blue as the sky and the other, silver as the clouds that decorate that vast expanse, both framed by thick lashes.
"It's not your fault," Life insists, their delicately gloved hand reaching to brush the dew from his cheeks. He shoves it away.
"No. No, don't pretend you care about me. I was just some toy to you, wasn't I? I- how many were there before me?" he demands. They sigh, a deep sadness tracing their strawberry lips.
"You have to understand, my rose, I'm as old as the Earth itself and I'll be here long after it fades. In the grand scheme of things, I can't afford to give myself to one mortal. You'll die, it's an inevitability, and I don't have the kind of power my brother does. Of course I loved you, but I'm a god, and you're..." they trail off.
"You don't need to say it. I know my life is nothing compared to yours, I just- I wish you were honest from the start, I still would've worshipped you," he says softly.
"But that's just the thing, isn't it? I don't want to be worshipped, I never did. I just want to be loved," they sigh, tears of gold beginning to well up.
"If you wanted to be loved, then why did you leave so many broken hearts behind?"
"You couldn't understand. To a god, a relationship is so much more than a couple of months with someone who catches your eye. To a god, I love you means I love you to eternity, a promise to stay by your side no matter what, to the end of our endless lives. Til death do us part doesn't have the same effect, we don't die the same way. The concept... I wouldn't know how to wrap my head around it, try as I might. I just run away every time before it gets too serious, because I could never match that level of commitment, not with a mortal." they reply, letting the tears down their cheeks.
"You still should've talked to me. At least mentioned it's different," he says. They shake their head softly.
"I could never." they insist. "I'll think of you, I promise,"
"Save yourself the trouble," he snaps. Their face finally falls, any hint of a smile vanishing behind a heavy tiredness.
"Then I wish you all the best,"
