The handles on those old style cameras would go forward at an angle, not come down straight. I assume that's why the gun handle doesn't sit at 45 degrees once it's inserted.
Wow, thnx for the memories man. I still have my TMNT collection boxed up in the basement of my parents house, lol... I never did get rid of them for some reason. They don't make toys like they use to... im grateful to have grown up in the late 80s early 90s. What a radical time.
at 1:22 you show that hero turtle april. i bought that exact one off of ebay. it was the same lace table cloth. i'll be doing a review in the near feature of the differences in packaging and quality for figures from around the world.nice video
I like The 90s April O'Neal the best. I bought it from a Flea Market (Swap-O-Rama) and it was sealed and un-opened. The one I got did have the word 'Press' on her chest and it was the different backing like on 1:19, except it doesn't have medallion or a card. All in All, great review and I hope to collect more TMNT figures soon.
The original April (along with the original 10 figures) was produced with inferior plastics and cheap paint. Word was Playmates thought the line would fold so they cut cost on paint apps and quality Also the white boots April was always to have had the blue stripe as depicted on the card art Playmates realized the mistake then corrected it thats what makes April w/o stripe so valuable The cartoon was probably to have a stripe as well
the no stripe in package is extremly rare. Depending on the condition of the card, there are two on ebay right now going for $150.00 and $160.00. if you have the blue stripe with no "press" on it, that would also be worth a pretty penny. between $40-70
@goatmaster10 That, I am not 100% sure...My guess would be late 1992 of the originial orange and blue. but re-issues kept the "press". There are plenty of websites that speialize in known variants with pics and all. just do some google searching
@goatmaster10 It wasnt a mistake. playmates eventually took off the wrighting because they thought kids would press her boob and expect something to happen. but by the time they took off the wrighting..too many regular "press" aprils wer allready released and the "no press" did not have a mass release.Yes she is kinda rare. but not that rare. with my ebay experiance and research on her over the years. I would estimate her value between $40 to $70 NIB. theres one on ebay for $5 but its loose.
@goatmaster10 Parts are recycled from the first april. even my orange and blue "press" april says 1988 on her butt. but the figure wasnt released till 1991. this is very common for figure lines. like Jakks wrestling figures for example. legs will say 2003 because of the TNA line those pairs of legs it was used for. but the parts wernt used and released for a wwe figure until 2006 but it still retaines the 2003 stamp on the figure.

Does anybody know what the april oneil..blue and orange striped with no "press" is worth?I read that it was a mistake..when they were changing her from the white boot to orange..they made these by mistake and not that much were made.its suppose to be mega mega rare!
yes but..they didnt take off "press" till the 90s and mine is 80s.ive seen april oneils from the 90s with press still on her and mine is from 1988.correct me if im wrong.
not really neccisary...Alot of these vintage lines,the paper and glue is soo old,it just comes right off usually without tearing the whole front,,either that,,or just be very carefull and slide your finger along while opening. u know??? ive never had to use a razor or anything,although some people do.

I had the yellow and orange one with Press written on it. I was 9 when I got it and really did think you were supposed to press it.
I don't see why April wouldn't carry a gun with her, she's a single lady living in New York.

I think they also have a variant that has the orange suit, with yellow suit art on the card.

I used sharpie the clothes back on my andre the giant figure. That had a really poor paint job.
