I agree with you. That has become a change in worship music in the past 10-15 years. If you look at old hymns its all about God and his character and what he has done for us. But today it is more about us and what we are seeking, doing. Not saying there is anything wrong with it, just a noticeable change.
God really LOVES to see us hunger and thirst for more of Him! :) That is why He is lifted up by this sing so much. He is exalted, and with this song, we can sing to God, we want more of Him and more and more, and that we want to be with Him! :) Be blessed :)

what cracks me up is the first person who posted a comment on this felt a need to explain how this song is 'self-centered' and we should be focused on God... and their username is "totallysawesomenezz" lol
I notiece with contemporary christian music how all the songs are at the first shallow steps for seeking God, its always like, God ive sinned, God i need more of you, you are good etc... how come it isnt more like the psalms where david just prayed for deliverance from his enemies and suffering and then praise to God for hearing his prayer by praising Gods characteristics, the music these days is for average ppl who havent really been transformed or really know God at all.
