Wouldn’t unaddressed PTSD affect his overall performance in life? Including his on-the-job performance? This could eventually lead to him getting fired because his reluctance to deal with his trauma is making him less of an asset and more of a liability. He just put himself and a colleague in danger out of recklessness.
