One thing you failed to mention was Overprime give you 5 heroes for free, and have 11 more gifted to you over the Xmas period. Something very important: i am brazillian and there is NO SOUTH AMERICA SERVERS in predecessor. Overprime has, playing with 30 ping has a biiigggg difference from playing 190. So latino friends have that in mind.
Just as an FYI, Predecessor is changing the paid currency from coins to "Platinum" to distinguish from gold you earn in game. I'm a big fan of Predecessor and have been playing it almost daily. I like the pacing and gameplay style more than OverPrime, but that's not to say that it's bad by any means, just not my preference.

Overprime is faster paced while predecessor is slower ,farming on average 10-20 mins longer in lane . thats basicly the big difference ive seen from playing both
Played them both aswel for 20 hours , the only difference ive been noticing is that overprime is faster paste while predesessor is slower (farming on average 10-20 min longer in lanes) can't really find any other big differences

Both games are good. but Pred feels so incredibly slow to me. It's boring and painfully slow right now. Pred also looks like Monolith, exactly like monoloth (for good or bad), whereas I feel Overprime has taken things a bit further from the old Paragon days. I never thought I would like the portals or invisible bushes but ended up loving them, they add a new dynamic that I wasn't expecting. At the moment, I play Overprime. It's just (for me) a more complete game and a lot more fun. Pred is decent, don't get me wrong. I absolutely don't hate it at all, its just that right now, it's slow and boring (to me) But both games are seeing a lot of development and I full'y expect that they'll leapfrog each other as time goes on and I'll end up playing both. You really don't have to just pick one of them. They both similar but different, play both, have fun in both, drop some cash for both.
I hate microtransactions. Thank you for the video, it answered so many questions I had. I LOVED original Paragon. I don't think I'll come back to it though if it means spending $100's of dollars. And this time if they cancel it, I'll never get it back lol.

I’m loving Overprime. Honestly with all the support for Predecessor being massive, I’m disappointed in how slow they intend to update and release things to their game. That alone tends to throw me off

Ah you forgot to mention a very important thing about Overprime. If you don't play on EU or US servers, your queue time on average is gonna be 2 hours. Even if you live in Asia the ping might be 12 ms but in a moment can change to 999ms at the drop of a hat, Asia SE was very stable constantly around 70ms before yesterday, now it's the high 900s all the time same with Asia NE. Hong Kong and Middle east basically have no players online at any given time.

I honestly don't know how I feel about the addition of custom characters. I feel like the should focus on getting the older characters out at a faster clip
Boils down to: Predecessor: action MOBA Overprime: ACTION moba I'll personally be sticking with Predecessor as it is just my preference. I feel like Pred rewards macro more over micro, which I like, but to each their own.
Paragon The Over Prime feels much more like OG legacy/travel mode/Prime Orb dunk/ than Predecessor. I quit playing when Epic removed travel mode and brought in Monolith. Pred is basically that game that I didn't like.
@@martinleon412 We all stopped playing because the game went down hill from that moment on. Travel mode is great, plus getting rooted while in TM is a great addition in my opinion.
Maybe it's just me, but having dropped 100 hours into Overprime at this point, I can't say I entirely agree with the idea of games being a lot more fast paced. Things definitely have the opportunity to ramp up a lot faster, but 9 times out of 10 unless I'm playing with or against premades, it doesn't really work out like that. I spend the first 10 minutes of the game just killing t-ons or poking my counterpart, and if the game goes on longer than 15-20 minutes, I tend to do that for even longer. The game HEAVILY rewards grinding t-ons because of the sheer difference that levels make in the game. I've played matches where someone was going like 15-0 by 20 minutes and were lower level than me and evenly matched with my gear with maybe 4 or 5 kills and 1 or 2 deaths myself because of the fact that I had the advantage of creep score. Farming is definitely still there. I will note, I didn't play much of og Paragon because my internet and PC were too crap at the time to play it, and I haven't really played much of Predecessor at all. However, that's just my point of view on it. The matches sit somewhere in pace between Smite and LoL imo, not horribly quick and most good games that don't result in surrender are 35-45 minutes and not too slow to a point that they end up lasting 45-60 minutes.
i might of got drunk and bougthtg the 80$ predecessors pack.... i liked the paragon game witth all its jank lol..mostly cuzi was bord of otgher mobas..... i will updated this once i put 15+ hrs in and sober lol
The problem is, to me, overprime is trying to be TOO FAST, and while that is enjoyable, it doesn't feel like a moba, more like team deathmatch. Mobas need to feel like you're growing in power over time, over prime just feels like a shotgun blast to the face 24/7. And I don't like that. If other people like it, that's good. But I can't get into it, the whole reason paragon was successful to any degree was because it was different in the sense of verticality, and style of game play. And monolith was the best version of it. Another problem, is.. overprime looks cheap, their animations are NOT as fluid, and their orginal characters... are very uninspiring. I also feel it's sort of unfair to compare some of the things overprime has over predecessor because predecessor just came out.
Hi there, I've discovered this channel today, when I also discovered utterly randomly that Paragon was revived ! I went on the Epic Store to see the free games of the week and.. oh why on earth is it written "Paragon" on my front page ? Yep, I saw the thumbnail of Paragon: The OverPrime, saw it was released on 6th December, and a few minutes later discovered that there have been a tons of Paragon-like projects since the death of the so-called masterpiece (imho). And well, during my research, I found your channel ! (by the way, I've also watched several of your videos talking about Warframe, in the meantime, cuz "why not", it was right there) So basically, if I got everything straight : today there are 2 known projects still ongoing around a Paragon revival/sequel/remake (or whatever you want to call it). => Predecessor : with big names of previous team working on original Paragon and trying to be as close as possible to the original. => OverPrime : having the legal and official agreement to use the Paragon name, but with some kind of money-interested company in the shadows, and quite different from original. (and some third one called "Core", but that ended up going in another direction, rather than make a copy of Paragon and that either disappeared in utter dust, either is still developping their sh*t in a very silent way (and good serves them). Here's my introduction and question then : I'm an old player of Paragon, I played in 2016, and I absolutely loved the game. BUT, my computer at the time didn't let me continue my journey and decided to burn (silly him), so I basically never landed a foot on Monolith (only saw videos and streams of it), nor did I play all the cool extra heroes that have been released.. Basically, if my memory is correct, I had to stop to play when Iggy was released (or maybe it was Silvarog ? Whoever was the newest between them). Huge FengMao main, I loved the Legacy jungle and Harvest system. I didn't have the chance to try the new system in Monolith as I said, so I can't tell if I would be at ease with it, but I can tell that Legacy was my love mistress. => So, which game between OverPrime and Predecessor would fit my experience the most, do you think ? Really happy Paragon got so much love it has been revived (or tried to be revived) multiple times. A lot of games I love and founded in early access died without that chance (rip Battlerite and Pagan Online, besides others).
Overprime is more similar to legacy paragon in terms of the map and sprint mode. Other than that it is a completely different game with extremely fast-paced gameplay. Each lane only has 1 tower so it feels more like a team shooter rather than a moba. Predecessor has a map that is more similar to the monolith map but has medium-pace gameplay that is very moba-like. In my opinion, Predecessor is more similar to Paragon since it does feel like a true moba and I would recommend you to try it out.
If you really loved old Paragon, then Predecessor is the closer of the two games to feeling like old Paragon. I've personally really been enjoying Pred over OP.
Great comment! I would suggest trying them out to see which one you like more. I’ll add that in terms of your PC burning… Predecessor is much better optimized for lower and higher end systems because they already ported their work to Unreal Engine 5, so you’ll probably have a smoother experience on Pred.
@@BritikHD Alright-y ! Not sure if I can find the time to try in depth both games, so I guess I will commit to Pred, based on the fact there is probably less chance that I get confused or disappointed based on what I knew of Paragon. However, do we have some info about a possibility that they include Legacy later on ? As the devs behind Pred seem more "fans" themselves
As of rn I really prefer Paragon. I like playing a game that actually feels like a real game and not a proof of concept demo. It gives a reason to actually keep playing and is super fun and engaging. Predecessor just seems slow and boring but maybe by the time it’s free and has more features in it I’ll be into it.
I haven't played an actual match of Overprime yet, but just doing the tutorial and having put 60 hours into Predecessor now I can say confidently I'm not even really interested in Overprime. Just new to this game. Between these 2 games, who are the more characters? And who characters of Predecessor are not in the Overprime. And vise versa. Please give me the list. Just can't find it on google.
i really would like that this 2 game survive and get a lot of players because i love both of them, the only negative point that i could tell about Overprime is the none support of controller for now. i hope it will change soon.

@@albertoalves1063 yeah but it works. don't mislead this person.... plus todays countess patch fixed everything about controller go try it for yourself.
i wish they make predecessor free in the future not like now that it is mandatory to buy the bundle before playing they can make it like in league that there is a bundle that you can buy if you want and implement expensive skins and make the champions purchasable by grinding or cash shops and implementing battle pass every season if budget is their issue cause all of those things can make a lot of money for them just make the game more accesible for everyone and make their players also interested and happy enough to buy what ever that they are selling
No, unless you prefer hero shooters than understandable. But Overprime feels nothing like a moba, you could even say it's a hero shooter, or a mobile moba at how fast paced and how little the PvE matters in that game

Most of my matches I play a strategic rotation and usually my team does as well it leads to me either downing a tower or grabbing a prime for my team I can even do it solo.
Problem with overprime, is just a League Game with different graph, same kind of umbalance mechanics, hughe amount of damage making the game no enjoyable at some point or vs some characters, sprint mechanic kills the enjoyment of many fights (used your spells and now in CD, you are a melee champ enemy will just sprint away or you got a kill enemy will sprint to lane reducing the impact you had). I have not checked out predecessor yet. I just got into overprime. I have to agree with the fast pace aggro feel. It's not what I remember from paragon. I do miss the grind. I'm gonna have to check out predecessor before I can have any real opinion tho.
When I think Paragon at its peak for me I think of Agora and those fun team fights and then the victor pushes the lane. I remember my only complaint with agora being I dont want one game to be over an hour. I think overprime is right where I want it to be- its fun- I dont feel too invested, and imo getting an enemy kill is the best feeling -not pushing a tower.
There is a level of input buffer in Pred. It may just not be active during all abilities? You can see it in action when you use jump pads While in mid-air (closer to landing, but still obviously in the air) you can use pretty much any ability and it will cast it upon landing. I've also been able to buffer abilities on some characters. I've seen people suggest it as bugs actually, where you can be in something like Gideon ult and use his portal while still locked in ult, and it will instantly cast it upon finishing ult. Might need further testing, but it is definitely there in some capacity.
I have to try it because I didn't pay attention to it, but maybe it just work with fast abilities, like working with Feng Mao left click +E but not with crunch left click + E
I agree with you on 95% of the things 👍🏼, the OP thing of focusing in more team fights than laning in his game is a thing that korean players like most. In League of Legends players from the korean server like to play aggressive and they are looking for fights so often, even in early game. I prefer the classic Moba experience so my preference is Predecessor but both games are good in their respective form of unique gameplay.

I'm gonna be real I haven't tried predecessor but I see alot of issues with over prime so far. 1.) Too much magic pen and armor pen the numbers are just too high and the items have passive along with those massive numbers. 2.) 2 relates to number 1 with the pen making it so there are no true tanks. It doesn't matter if it's a severog or a grux or steel their is no one late game that is truly "tanky" due to the pen. 3.) Roles are all over the place. people just go whatever character in whatever lane in overprime. 4.) Movements over the top 100% the sprinting is just fine but you cannot have summoner spells like flash with movement like this it doesn't punish a character properly for being pushed up too far or getting caught out especially when 90% of Champs have a dash already in their kit. Flash--->Dash = under turret or flash--->Dash = teleporter 5.) The teleporters and just stupid all-around. movements already in a good position the addition of flash and tps around the map is nothing shy of aids.. 90% of the time teleporters are used for running away and not ganking. It is the go-to for any laner caught In a gank in solo lane. 6.) Roles are so messed up an adc or magic dealer without any help can 1v1 a full fledged tank.

Predecessor, not only because I prefer the more traditional MOBA feel, but I really in believe Omeda in the long term. They really seem to be passionate about this game.
I do not trust some random mobile gaming company that bought the rights and have already started to show some “questionable” monetization tactics.
After the recent shitshow that has been Overwatch2 and my supreme disappointment in Blizzard, I really need to believe in the developer, and Omeda just gives me that feeling right now.

I believe that Netmarble did not buy the rights. The cost would be too prohibitive.

You do get free currency now for playing games in OverPrime
Did he mention the recent patch notes for Paragon the Overprime? Yesterday ** on his stream he said he did lool.
Very strange he would release this video 40 mins ago without doing any research for Overprime which ....If you wanna call just going to their discord or Website research by all means....😌
Edit ** I'm watching the video now...just took a glimpse at the comments to confirm for myself!
Happy to see regular videos again! Pred is winning in my opinion!!!!
Great video. Pred just dropped for PS5 and me and my friends LOVE IT
$7 per hero? Not saying it’s better but Smite has almost if not over 100 gods and you can get all of them plus any new ones being released indefinitely for $30
Something very important: i am brazillian and there is NO SOUTH AMERICA SERVERS in predecessor. Overprime has, playing with 30 ping has a biiigggg difference from playing 190. So latino friends have that in mind.
Overprime feels like the nba jam version of paragon and predecessor is more like nba 2k... predecessor ftw for me
Easy: Predecesor its the only one left ajajja
Just as an FYI, Predecessor is changing the paid currency from coins to "Platinum" to distinguish from gold you earn in game.
I'm a big fan of Predecessor and have been playing it almost daily. I like the pacing and gameplay style more than OverPrime, but that's not to say that it's bad by any means, just not my preference.
yea im thinking about buying predecessor.. simply because it looks more tactical than overprime.. overprime doesnt feel like a moba at all.. its just fighting all the time
i also like dota more than league of legends because of this.. because dota is more tactical
will see how predecessor is soon
Overprime is faster paced while predecessor is slower ,farming on average 10-20 mins longer in lane . thats basicly the big difference ive seen from playing both
currently playing overprime because it's free, ill wait more for the predecessor to be updated and buy it.
Gave both a try and found myself enjoy pred a lot more. Im sure we’ll match up again soon my dude
I mean why wouldn't you. Pred probably doesn't have a 4 hour queue time on any of their servers.
@@atcera8714 ive been playing overprime for 2 weeks and there is hardly any queue time. lmao
Played them both aswel for 20 hours , the only difference ive been noticing is that overprime is faster paste while predesessor is slower (farming on average 10-20 min longer in lanes)

Can’t wait for predecessor to come to console get paragon back
I find it interesting i see so many comments supporting Predecessor but the game itself is lagging tremendously rn in terms of a player population. If people are enjoying it so much then how is the player count only a few thousand and OP is hitting 20k? Not biased but its weird.
THATS WHAT I WAS THINKING LMAO even tho OP is free, STILL point stands.
I wish Overprime would switch up and use different assets. It's so different from Paragon it could be it's own game and succeed
Good to see you man. It’s been a long time
I really enjoy Paragon. I ll try Predecessor when its on console. But for now I keep playing ranked mode Paragon.
Overprime has more characters, skins, etc. but Predecessor is the better game IMO
Lol I genuinely want both games to succeed and pressure each other to keep performing at the top of their game
One needs to die for the other to flourish.
@@MiamiMAJIN I hope it’s pred because I don’t want a mobile game company running the show cause their about to add that paragon battle pass lmao
@@Psykcosis Overprime is the one owned by a mobile company not Pred which isn't entirely accurate either since Netmarble has had several pc/console games not just mobile. Plus the Netmarble team for Paragon has already given out 11 of the heroes for free (they're all free with grind)
@@warrenmunroe1956 didn’t say pred was owned by them, but the thing is that over prime is like most mobile arena shooters, which could be a good thing for new players, I’ll be playing who ever releases my main from og paragon first lmao

So what you're saying, you're gonna have a whole lotta fun and very fast, but it'll kill you. Like, really fast too.
I absolutely don't hate it at all, its just that right now, it's slow and boring (to me)
But both games are seeing a lot of development and I full'y expect that they'll leapfrog each other as time goes on and I'll end up playing both.
And this time if they cancel it, I'll never get it back lol.
very unbiased, good ob. I enjoy overprime because of its action packed matches and constant team fights. there are good reasons for me to play both but my monkey brain turns on when i get 70 stacks on my q as severog and can no longer die.
I’m loving Overprime. Honestly with all the support for Predecessor being massive, I’m disappointed in how slow they intend to update and release things to their game. That alone tends to throw me off
Yeah OP impressed me at the changes in just a few weeks. Balance changes, changes to the monetization and characters picks, and pred just gets adjustments...for 1 hero 😆
@@Zoduk facts, I was reading their road map too, and they’re like we’re gonna do small updates and balance fixes and release 1 hero per month, none of which are characters people are highly anticipating or new characters lol
Thats fine, just play Overprime for now and 6 months down the road you can always check out Predecessors progress. No one need limit themselve to only one of the two games. :)
I love Pred, overtime just feels like a mobile game money grab.
wow the info you put down had me shock. good research subscribing !
Pred Easy. Travel mode never appealed to me
Predecessor should've gotten the paragon license and logo, overprime looks weird, sorta like a Frankenstein of paragon
Lets go these guys behind predecessor are legendary
Ah you forgot to mention a very important thing about Overprime.
If you don't play on EU or US servers, your queue time on average is gonna be 2 hours. Even if you live in Asia the ping might be 12 ms but in a moment can change to 999ms at the drop of a hat, Asia SE was very stable constantly around 70ms before yesterday, now it's the high 900s all the time same with Asia NE. Hong Kong and Middle east basically have no players online at any given time.
as a guy who plays a lot of mobile games, i know net marble as company and the different projects they work on. i do not trust them in the long run, a game that they made based on seven deadly sin anime is heavy pay to win. i dropped it due to tht, you just reach a ceiling in gear you cannot break with grind called "skin buffs". at first predecessor was iffy for the pay to get in but honestly ill trust it more then netmarbles greedy ass free to play scheme.
Overprime seems like it wants to go to mobile
I honestly don't know how I feel about the addition of custom characters. I feel like the should focus on getting the older characters out at a faster clip
How do they do on older hardware like 1050 TI i7 3330 ? Like FPS wise etc. Performance is also a factor
Been waiting for yrs to see paragon back on console. We need this back already 😭😭
Boils down to:
Predecessor: action MOBA
Overprime: ACTION moba
I'll personally be sticking with Predecessor as it is just my preference. I feel like Pred rewards macro more over micro, which I like, but to each their own.
All I want to know is when the game is coming to consoles
Paragon The Over Prime feels much more like OG legacy/travel mode/Prime Orb dunk/ than Predecessor. I quit playing when Epic removed travel mode and brought in Monolith. Pred is basically that game that I didn't like.
They were right to take away travel mode, it made matches 40 minutes minimum. I stopped playing to but then I played again and realize they were right
@@martinleon412 We all stopped playing because the game went down hill from that moment on. Travel mode is great, plus getting rooted while in TM is a great addition in my opinion.
@@23cSolis And they can more nerfs too if needed. Travel Mode is what sets the game apart
@@MiamiMAJIN Yes sir, 100%
The matches sit somewhere in pace between Smite and LoL imo, not horribly quick and most good games that don't result in surrender are 35-45 minutes and not too slow to a point that they end up lasting 45-60 minutes.
why can't these 2 studio comes together and make the game together?
Maidenless 😂 keep up the great vids man, hoping to see more!
i miss paragon…
i might of got drunk and bougthtg the 80$ predecessors pack.... i liked the paragon game witth all its jank lol..mostly cuzi was bord of otgher mobas..... i will updated this once i put 15+ hrs in and sober lol
How am I literally only hearing about OP today yet it was under development for longer time than pred?
The only thing I disliked about Paragon was the fact that it's a MOBA. And Overprime fixes just that! I'm having so much fun.
Rip Paragon the overprime 2022-2022
What graphic card do y’all recommend for this game ?
(by the way, I've also watched several of your videos talking about Warframe, in the meantime, cuz "why not", it was right there)
So basically, if I got everything straight : today there are 2 known projects still ongoing around a Paragon revival/sequel/remake (or whatever you want to call it).
Here's my introduction and question then :
I'm an old player of Paragon, I played in 2016, and I absolutely loved the game.
Feeling is mutual
I haven't played an actual match of Overprime yet, but just doing the tutorial and having put 60 hours into Predecessor now I can say confidently I'm not even really interested in Overprime. It is on it's face nothing like the OG Paragon that I fell in love with as my first MOBA. Predecessor carries the torch. Here's to the future!
I just want to play as wukong in Predecessor
Overprime got rekkt by predecessor. Only predecessor left
Sad thing about Predecessor is that there’s no reason to play it at the moment because of lack of overall progression and few heroes
But the controller support on Predecessor is no good though, I used to play Paragon on PS4 and the controller was very good bu in Predecessor it's weird in my opinion.

They said they will be making it free once it's released:)

No, unless you prefer hero shooters than understandable. But Overprime feels nothing like a moba, you could even say it's a hero shooter, or a mobile moba at how fast paced and how little the PvE matters in that game
@@symphonixblades objectives and Primes matter a lot in OP. Lots of strategy and fast pace decision making are involved. You can literally turn a game 360 in your favor with teamwork & coordination.
@@tal7645 not the experience I had, the team with the most broken heroes would always win, most matches were heroes attacking other heroes, no one focusing in farming no one focusing in minions, just PvP all over from the matches I played
@@symphonixblades that’s how your teammates decided to play them not how the game was purely designed. It’s not restricted to brawling 24/7 fights. I’ve had a few matches like that too and it’s kinda annoying unless everyone is on board with it.

Predecessors: better game play
OverPrime: better graphics and skins

I have to try it because I didn't pay attention to it, but maybe it just work with fast abilities, like working with Feng Mao left click +E but not with crunch left click + E
i had this problem in everyone of my games with abilities and autos it makes the game kinda unplayable
Doesn’t really seem like a bug to me since you can do the same thing in league and it’s been out for a long time
This was fixed in today's patch.
I like predecessor more cuz they got the map from paragon, feels more like it
in paragon we were supposed to get the bear named 'boris'? I've seen it on paragon wikis and such. will either of these games add that character?
I agree with you on 95% of the things 👍🏼, the OP thing of focusing in more team fights than laning in his game is a thing that korean players like most. In League of Legends players from the korean server like to play aggressive and they are looking for fights so often, even in early game. I prefer the classic Moba experience so my preference is Predecessor but both games are good in their respective form of unique gameplay.
Overprime biggest minus as of right now is in ranked your lane is given random, you cant play the heroes you want, the only reason i stopped playing it
Great video. I'm definitely waiting for predecessor on console. If I wanted to play a hero brawler arena, I'd play Overwatch, which already is a great game. I want to play a 3d moba, which is why I'll be playing predecessor
Facts my boy
Uhm, spoiler alert, Overwatch 1 is already shutdown
Flash--->Dash = under turret or flash--->Dash = teleporter
5.) The teleporters and just stupid all-around. movements already in a good position the addition of flash and tps around the map is nothing shy of aids.. 90% of the time teleporters are used for running away and not ganking. It is the go-to for any laner caught In a gank in solo lane.
6.) Roles are so messed up an adc or magic dealer without any help can 1v1 a full fledged tank.
i see hunt showdown on the dash, a man of taste
How did you get banned from twitter
