Becker and Kennedy. This couple is all about order and chaos with one another. Ship name is totally Bennedy, calling it now. Also nice to see another Lumity-style couple.
Also, should we be concerned that Scott survived falling from that tree he was climbing down? Boy’s got some durability. 😂

Becker’s crush on Hailey was a completely missed opportunity. It made no sense to just dump it and treat it as some sort of one off joke. I fact it’s insulting in a way and insults those who care about it. Shows shouldn’t insult their viewers for caring.
I feel like the Owl House sorta has this problem too in a sense. Such as with the conclusion the Azura theory. They shouldve either put more care and effort in the Azura concept or simply left it open to interpretation. People get so caught up in the big picture that they overlook this kind of stuff and nobody addresses this. They insult the viewers for caring and shows shouldn’t do that to their fans and they throw away what possibly could’ve been interesting concepts to explore, only to yeet it out and treat it as some joke.
Okay maybe insulting is crossing the line a bit of a strong word to use. What I mean is, the show could’ve use this to give Becker some character development and her own character arc. I know she’s not the main character but she is a reoccurring character who is an important enough character due to being Scott’s younger sister.
I’ve seen the episode from the “Amazing World of Gumball” called “The Shell” where it had this more emotional sort of tone to it which does stand out from the other episodes since it’s a comedy centric series. However Richard and Anais kinda spoiled the emotional weight the episode had. I think the creators kind of chickened out of having thr episode end on a more emotional note.
Comedy centric shows shouldn’t be afraid to get serious and/or emotional every now and then. Don’t toss away something precious for the sake of a one off cheap not-all-that-funny gag. Take the Ghost and Molly McGee for example, it’s a feel good slice of life comedy centric show but there are episodes that aren’t afraid to tackle more touchy and serious topics such as estranged parents and divorce, identity crises, insecurities about one’s ties to their heritage, getting over one’s prejudice.
Anyways I made a post about my complaints about Becker getting together with Kennedy being rushed, but I wanna re establish my thoughts on it and then give my take on how I would’ve handled Becker’s writing.
The very first thing I would do is to of coarse dedicate more episodes on different parts of Becker’s arc. Rather than a messily 2 episodes. Give her arc maybe a season or 2. Like have Becker end her arc at around the 2nd or maybe the 3rd season if there were to be one. It would give time for the arc to breathe. Spend some episodes of Becker crushing on Hailey and getting to know Hailey and Becker’s dynamic better.
The first thing is to establish Becker’s crush on Hailey. We’ll keep “Catching Felines” the same.
Now this is when the big changes start happening. Have “Kissed Opportunities” be the first episode we get to have Becker’s crush be shown a little more prominently than average. I’d want to perhaps sprinkle little hints of her feelings here and there for the whole duration of her crush on Hailey. Nothing too big, enough to where it’s obvious but too much where it overshadows Becker’s character and I think Becker. She’s a fun character. I think for this episode, I would have Becker play more a role in the episode perhaps and a main character in it. Have Becker participate in the game as well. Instead of Frank being the one to bring an obstacle to Hailey, have Becker be it instead. Id probably have Becker rig the game and cheat her way to attempting to get the kiss card in order to get a chance at kissing Hailey. It would not only be in character for her to resort to using a bit more underhanded tactics to reach her objective, we could’ve also gotten to know Becker a little better through interactions with the other party guests and be able to see her interact with people outside of Hailey and Scott. Imagine an interaction between Becker and AC. That’d be comedy gold.
Then introduce Kennedy to the series. I wouldn’t have her and Becker date right off the bat. Instead have them be rivals for a while. Have the viewers get to know their initial dynamic for a while. Give context of how it even started in the first place. Kennedy liking Becker came out of nowhere and there was little to no build up of her liking Becker. Spend some episodes of Becker competing with Kennedy.
Then over time have episodes of Becker and Kennedy getting on better terms with one another and eventually becoming friends.
Also have Hailey eventually catch on and get the hint that Becker likes her. This could challenge Hailey a bit more since she’ll not only have to worry about not hurting Kristine but also not hurting Becker as well. And she’ll have competition with Kennedy as well to an extent. Hailey would have to figure out a way to let Becker down gently
This also connects to the show having a pacing problem as well, going off the complaint about the will they won’t they scenario. Hailey and Scott suffer from very little progression, while Becker and Kennedy suffer from their progression being way too rushed. Becker’s crush on Hailey was just some off gag. To me, they could’ve done something really interesting with it. Becker could’ve given Hailey more of a challenge to kiss Scott besides Kristine and getting into her own head. Becker would’ve literally been a physical obstacle that Hailey would have a harder time overcoming.
Eventually I would have an episode where Becker finally confesses to Hailey. I feel like this sort of arc could maybe show a more vulnerable side to Becker, by having her express things like love, shyness, heartbreak and embarrassment (I say embarrassment because I mean if Becker were to be rejected by Hailey and/or see her and Scott kiss having her find out that Becker was way off with her assumptions of Hailey liking her, Becker would’ve been likely been so heartbroken and mortified). Feelings outside of her chill, delinquent, troublemaking, chaotic, cool girl personality. Maybe Becker could either confess to Hailey or see Hailey and Scott have a romantic moment together. Maybe have some people make fun of her for it and laugh at her.
Something else I would do. Have Becker cry.
I mean it’s a pretty realistic reaction for Becker to have for Hailey rejecting her would be heartbreak devastation and of course, humiliation. Especially if this were to be a public display of Becker being told by her crush that she doesn’t feel the same way and thay realization hitting her like a truck that she was way wrong about her assumption of her crush reciprocating and all this time thought that she stood a chance and looking and feeling like a total idiot from making a fool out of herself. Maybe we could have a scene of Becker crying or something
Then we could have Kennedy comfort Becker, hence beginning the part where Becker starts the process of getting over Hailey and eventually starting to develop feelings for Kennedy and eventually getting in a relationship with her. Of coarse things between Becker and Hailey would be awkward for a while and affect their friendship to an extent and I would dedicate an episode that touches on it and having them eventually going back to how things used to be
This sort of arc would help to have Becker have her own character development though having her to learn:
-Not everyone you have a crush on, especially the same gender ones, will feel the same way. It’s a hard life lesson to learn but an important one. This is a real life situation that a lot of people face and I feel like there aren’t too many shows that really address this sort of topic. Becker could be a character that a lot of people can relate to especially those who have a one sided crush on someone who’s the same gender as them only to end in heartbreak. Not just them, but anyone in general who deals with unrequited love
-That it’s okay to cry and to be vulnerable. Becker is of coarse this rebellious delinquent doesn’t seem to give a crap. I feel like Becker is the type of person who wouldn’t wanna be all vulnerable and see it as some sort of liability for herself. This arc could have Becker be less afraid of being open about her vulnerable emotions and that it’s a healthy way to process feelings
-Sometimes in life, you can find love in the most unexpected places and that sometimes the one for you could be the person you’d least expect. Life is full of surprises. Becker overtime seeing Kennedy in a different light and realizing the one for her was right there in front of her this whole time

Yes! The love relationship between Becker and Kennedy is also a very beautiful and wonderful one. And it reminds me of the love relationship between Luz and Amity in the series The Owl House too. And these pretty and adorable female love couples are the most beautiful and most romantic ones. And the way the love between these two girls is presented is also a very lovely way. And I also love the face and the character of the girl Becker. And that girl reminds me of two well known characters that are also practically talented girls. One of these two girls is Elaine from the Canadian television series What about Mimi. And the other of these two girls is Sara Snap from the television series hero elementary. And there is even a third character Becker reminds me of, even though the face is a little bit different but it has the same surname as the previous character. And this is Ginger Snap form the television series Strawberry Shortcake 2003 - 2007 produced by the company American Greetings. And the hairstyle with two pigtails on black hair looks in fact very pretty. I always loved and love girls that have hairstyles with two hair tails. It really looks totally beautiful. I really feel this way. The love between two girls is indeed the most beautiful love.

@@musicallytalented16True indeed! Romantic love does exist between two female persons and does also exist between to male persons. The combination of the biological sexes of the persons is no exclusive factor. The parity between the sexes of two persons does not necessarily make the romantic love between the two persons impossible. If a person is a female person, this person can also have a romantic love to a person who does not have the male genitals or the male gonads. If a person is a male person, that person can also have a romantic love to a person who does not have the female genitals and does not have the female sexual apparatus either. Therefore, Apostolic musical user, your statement is definitely wrong.

@@musicallytalented16I myself know the love between a man and a woman can be viewed as the usual reproductive case so far. But the way to conclude based on this fact that only love between two people of different sexes is normal and love between two people of the same sex is not normal does not work. At first I have to mention that nowadays already many women couples carefully ask well trusted confidant fertile men in their circle of friends to hand over their sperm cells so these women couples can reproduce themselves and can get mothers. And it works in this way even when syringes or burettes are not even used to transfer sperm cells, but simply the hands are used, with which the sperm cells are then brought into the female genital tract. And therefore this way of reproduction is not even unnatural in any way but instead of this definitely a natural reproduction way. And this way of reproduction does not even have deficits in love, because the platonic love of the donating men to these female couples is present in the most cases in the other way around is also no infrequent case. It is a completely other question what the regular way of reproduction in humanity or in the animal kingdom will be or is in the different singular cases. And it is also another question how the partnering structures and relations in the society will be, what in my eyes is always completely harmless for the humans and also for the complete society as long as there is no raping and no sexual abuse but only agreed and carefully approached relations with mutual consent of the corresponding two partners in all cases regardless of the combinations of the sexes the partners have. But the conclusion based on the knowledge about the reproduction way of humans or mammals that therefore a love relation between two persons of the same sex could not be normal, does not switch through. This line of argumentation fails. The normality of a love relation does not require physical differences in the body at in the sensitive intimate areas. This is a fact. You can say in a serious way that the love of two persons of the same sex does not correspond with the regular case of the society, but you can not say in a serious way that the love of two persons of the same sex is unnormal or not normal based on this fact of that non correspondence with the regular case of the society. Hopefully you can understand my way of explanation and detailed accurate clarification and hopefully you see the components of the way of analyzing this topic clearly and meticulously enough. And I also hope that you can understand some things about this question of this topic better than before. Anyway, in my opinion I should have mentioned all the important aspects on that topic.

Gay relationships are more popular in live-action (sex education, young royals, Heartstopper) while sapphic relationships are more popular in animation (Steven universe, owl house, She-Ra). I think it's only because it's easier to get away with sapphic relationships in animation because girls holding hands is always seen a friendship, while with male ships as soon as they hold hands, it gets a shit ton of backlash. But when you look at it, gay couples generally have more shows dedicated to them, especially outside of animation. But honestly I'd like to see an animated show with a gay couple that just doesn't receive backlash. And a live-action sapphic series that won't get cancelled after 1 season or just ignored
