Great video! Trangia stoves are great. Beautifully filmed and very nice with the music.

Glad those solid surface countertops made it through this. Acrylic tends to not like heat, it melts, or cracks. I know it’s not that hot below, but dang. That pot sitting there gave me the willys. A wood cutting board would be my choice. Nice looking egg!

it isn't a problem. as the alcohol inside the burner vaporizes into gas it absorbs heat, so the heat transferred from the brass burner to the aluminum pot support is really not that much. i've used my trangia 28 with a plastic bag underneath it and it never got hot enough to melt or distort the plastic.

I love the Trangia system. I've done the noodle bit a lot. I prefer a boiled egg (soft). I also add other things like you did (a protein) and hot sauce with maybe a few more dried vegetables. Sometimes, especially if the noodles are spicy, I add some cheese. It is a great meal for lunch or even breakfast. I have made this in 3 degree (F) weather with good results. The Trangia system rocks.

years ago i worked for a company that did not have a lunch room or any sort of place for workers to take a break, i would bring my 28 to work and use it at my workbench to cook my lunch, which freaked out many of my co-workers who usually went out for fast food.. we had ethanol in the shop that the machinists used for cleaning, so i used that for fuel. my 28 is the older model with the plain aluminum frypan so i never fried my eggs, i would just break them into the simmering ramen and cook them that way. chop up some green onions and had a cheap hot lunch. sometimes add a sliced hot dog.

Fantastic bit of kit..Just fried an egg. Boiled water for a cupper in a collapsible cup all on less than a quarter tank of hacienda bio fuel with a drop of water added to fuel. No smoke, no yellow flames, no soot and hardly no smell apart from cooking oil and no sticking . What more do you want for 20 quid?
