I have witnessed thousands of turkey encounters, this is pro. You can witness the woodsmanship happening in this hunt. Most hunters and myself included would have moved to shoot that turkey when it circled behind them, I was screaming for him to turn or call and they didn't. They let that turkey walk out of sight and then started again. I learned something from this hunt. Great job guys.

I’ll go with a bull elk bugle as number 1. But a booming gobble at close range is definitely 2nd in my book.
Just goes to show ya'. You can call a gobbler back in and get a second chance. Patience payed off, and you guys played the game like champs! Congrats Ted!

When a gobbler has “beard rot” (which is no such thing) its from vitamin deficiency, in the colder states they can break off due to snow and ice building up on them in the winter months.
Has to suck a little for a beard defect.

you guys I enjoy watching, I'm still in love with Turkey Hunting since it opened where I lived 1n 1969, I'm 81 this season, only killed one this season, had one day of gobbling heard maybe 800-900 but they would not leave those that was end of second week, I even tried reaping but at my age I was not to graceful at it, last time I did that was 4 or 5 years ago I killed 2 birds in the last week, this year North Missouri in Sullivan county sucked do to the weather plus I hunted all new locations and that changes things but the wind blew heavy this year could not hear any distant for popping cracking trees pouring down rain, cold weather, dressed like I was hunting cold weather deer. Just waiting on next year, according to the reports I should have went hunting in the county my daughter lives in, new kill records were reported there with record amount.

Ok. I officially watch too many THP videos. I had a dream last night about playing bass in a Worship Band and Zach F was the lead guitarist. He was as tightly wound in the dream as in his hunting videos.😂🎸😂

Ok great hunt first off. I have done that but not as fast probly 45minutes to an hour after they walked by with no shoot opportunities. Next thing, you guys know enough turkey biologist that you should be able to get us answer on how and or why a turkeys beard does that. Upstate New York the main thought is it freezes in the snow and freezing climate and breaks off. I think a definitive answer from Mr. Chamberland and or the likes of would be great

For some of us the fun is finding the place and camping. I understand I don't want to tell where I went on a great river when I was a kid and we saw nobody. Today it's a lot of people, but it's a great place to experience if we see no garbage and beer cans in the river. Most aren't hunting and fishing anymore but it's great all around. I would love to advertise a great long section of river but a lot of people are stupid and unimaginative. Many don't understand enough and don't appreciate hunting.

With TSS, the general recommendation is to go down one size for your choke tube. Steel tends to pattern tighter than lead.

That weather looks way to nice to be in Arkansas, so I'm guessing they're elsewhere. Come on Arkansas Turkey season. I seen a tom the other day, while i was headed fishing. I stopped and started calling, for practice. Nearly chocked on my mouth call 😂😂. Tom looked at me goobled and rain off. I'm pretty sure he called me an idiot 😂.

I have had really good luck letting fired up toms walk off if they come in too far to my right to shoot, adjusting, and calling them back in like this. Perhaps this speaks to me needing to improve on my setups the first time, but I think in the last 4 or so years I've killed a bird on the second try at least 3 times. Much better than rushing a poor shot or letting them see you moving for a shot. It's amazing how often they will run right back in, almost like they think the hen wandered off and is now looking for them again!

Yes, and for those who don't know... the mossberg sa20 is a fine shooting gun. For the money it can't be beat. Light shooting, easy to carry, reliable, and an affordable price. Well done Ted and Aaron!

The beard isn't rot but a diet deficiency . I think it is a mineral issue. The rusty looking end is a tell-tale indicator.

Obviously i hate to see my boys struggle ever but i gotta say its refreshing knowing even these fantastic hunters struggle for gobbles sometimes lol. I hunted my ass off this last weekend and heard two gobbles. One on the roost but i believe i was too aggressive and got to close 😬🦃🦃🤦🤦

So, did all of you guys draw Non-resident public land permits for Mississippi?
How are you guys dealing with the ticks? Up here in PA we have a pandemic. My kids have them every time we go up to our farm to shed hunt or just for a walk on our logging roads. Are you all having any luck with any sprays? I hate to spray the kids with a cancer causing product. Any advice will help. We were thinking of the dog collar tick prevention lol! Great video as always 😊
