Hi! In that video I was using Rpi4 but then I did the same with a Rpi3 without any problems! As long as you have a LAN port and a WiFi device, it should work! Have a nice trip!
Hello , thanks for the information, I follow the procedure and the VPN is up , however I have not access to internet, the masquerade is selected, when I use a diagnostic tool to make a ping or trace , I got a message of bad address , should I do a ddns configuration to be able to have internet access? I also made a test in another router , however in the openvpn section there is not the option to upload the ovpn file from Express vpn, should I download more packages? Thanks in advance
Hello! For what I can read you are using openwrt in routers, I don´t know how it works there. Openwrt is known to work just fine with some models but struggles with others, specially if they have 5 Ghz network adaptors. The example given in this case is compatible with Rpis that have at least 2 network adapters. Let us know if you can solve it!
Thank you so much. It has worked with me. But I want to understand something sporadically, every 20 minutes or 30 minutes, I have to stop and start back OpenVPN in order for the router to set me at the right IP location. Any explanations?
Hi I am really glad to read that it worked for you. About your question, I don´t have that issue so I haven´t dug into it, maybe in the future? Let us know if you were able to solve it!! Would be nice to learn from you!
So ... your "wwan" interface is in "wan" firewall zone? I think "wwan" - the wifi which your computer connected, should be in "lan" firewall zone right? I'm still confused, please help to explain, thanks
Hi! Exactly, my wwan (wlan0) interface is inside the WAN zone, then my wlan1 is in the lan network. My raspberry pi is basically using wlan0 as wan interface and then the wlan1 is the LAN side of my network. Hope it helps!
@@hojustraperi just have 1 lan interface (eth0) and 1 wireless (wlan0). How could I configure firewall. i have already configure openVPN okey. But wireless client still not get VPN IP
This is gold. I have been struggling to set up OpenVPN on OpenWRT for years, and you solved my problem in minutes. Thank you!
I am very happy to know that it was useful!
Thank you! I had everything related to ExpressVPN configured but didn't realize I had to create interfaces per Step #2. Thanks again! :)
Glad it helped!
Congrats! This video is straight, simple and works perfectly!
THANKS!
Thanks very much. Easy to follow and worked first time on my Linksys/openwrt router.
Great to hear!
Thank You very much! You helped me setting up openwrt vpn on a raspberry pi.
You are welcome! I am glad to know it was useful!

Glad to hear that you are using a SBC like orange pi!
New subscriber! Great video! Your video will help me set up my own travel router. Which model of Raspberry Pi are you using in your video? Thank you!
