    I wanna see someone make a video of this "says who" guy responding to Trump. That would be hilarious.
    Trump: I'm filthy rich, believe me.
    This guy: Says Who?
    Trump: I love the uneducated. Believe me.
    This guy: Says who?
    Trump: I'm beating Hillary in every poll and I'm a smart guy.
    This guy: Says who? What polls?
    Cnn anchor: All of them.
    This guy: Says who? Which polls?
    Trump: You guys just need to listen to me.
    This guy: Says who?
    LOL
    Also, this guy would be the best in the apprentice as well.
    Trump: You're fired!!!!!!
    This guy: Says who??

      We know that. And that is exactly why it would be hillarious to see the same tactic turned on him. Because unlike rational people, Trump wouldn't have any real point to respond with.

    Thank you Seth! This needs more attention than it is currently getting and it makes me so sad when deniers brush off the issue as "laughable"
    It's hard to change people's minds once they've been made up, but I hope there's a chance for our future to continually address these concerns and to build upon the precarious foundations of policy that have already been established.
    I only hope it isn't too late.

      Donny, it may take months, but those gases WILL escape into the atmosphere!
      Oh, BTW, Donny, you may want to Google "Ozone Hole over ARCTIC"!
      Yes, in addition to the one over the South Pole, in 2011, an Ozone Hole was discovered over the NORTH POLE!

    Seth the planet will be fine once we're all gone. We're destroying ourselves.

    • @GoddoDoggo
      @GoddoDoggo 7 лет назад +3

      You don't seem to understand. If the planet gets too hot and the atmosphere changes too drastically, nothing will be able to survive here. The Earth will effectively become like Venus. Sure, the planet itself won't implode or anything, but nothing would feasibly ever be able to live on it ever again.
      So no, the planet will not "be fine" unless we all go extinct well before climate change gets any more out of control.

    • @MaartenKok
      @MaartenKok 7 лет назад +2

      That's not really true, there isn't enough oil for us to burn to get to Venus-like levels. The fact is that we'll have killed ourselves off before we reach anywhere near that state.

    • @JustWuddy
      @JustWuddy 7 лет назад

      You've probably heard the term greenhouse effect before. In simplest terms, here is what it means:
      Once the polar icecaps melt, a chain reaction starts where more of the sun's heat is absorbed onto our surface. Hotter temperatures lead to greater water evaporation, which lead to even hotter temperatures. That reaction continues until all water has turned to vapor, which is what happened to the planet Venus some time in the distant past.

    • @TeddyKrimsony
      @TeddyKrimsony 7 лет назад +1

      95% of Venus's atmosphere is CO2 0.005% of Earth's atmosphere is CO2

      No, the sad thing is oil companies had scientists studying climate change in the early 70's, and were being warned by their own scientists that they could not continue on this path, and that human effect on the climate was so severe already by that point that if they did not take action within 5-10 years to move to renewable energy, then they were crossing a point of no return with the climate.... It's now 2016, almost 2017, and we still haven't taken action. We had our chance 40 years ago to preserve life on this planet, people who are in all likelihood dead by now, chose profits.

    • @tooitchy
      @tooitchy 7 лет назад +5

      Oh, and when oil companies scientists started warning them about climate change back then, they fired them, and started the campaign to deny climate change, because they knew eventually the public would take notice, and they had to have a massive organized political force to deny it, as well as their own "scientists" on their payroll to deny it.
      Which leads us to where we are now, we've got a massive political force, the right wing, who will deny climate change until the day they die, floating through times square.

      +wiet111 that person is pro fracking, pro nuclear, and has a climate plan which is not much better than denial. 80% reduction in emissions by 2050 means we will hit 2 degrees Celsius. Vote for the only candidate who has a climate plan that will save us.

    • @wiet111
      @wiet111 7 лет назад +6

      Brendan Davison Nuclear is pretty great, fracking is usually still better than coal, and she only wants limited fracking.
      Regardless though, we shouldn't compare Clinton with a utopian perfect candidate. We should compare her with the other serious candidate. Trump. He denies climate change. He wants more coal. He doesn't want any reduction in emissions.
      I could recommend voting for Jill Stein if she stood a chance at winning. However, she currently polls at around 3%. She is *never* going to win this election. The winner is going to be one of the main party candidates, so either Trump or Clinton.
      If we compare the climate plans of Clinton and Trump, it is very obvious who we should support. Clinton acknowledges climate change and wants to do something about it. Trump refuses to listen to the science, and his plans would just worsen climate change. The smart choice is obvious.
      Aiming for great is admirable, but not if that great is unattainable, and any pursuit for great increases the chances of horrible. I think a very famous quote from von Bismarck is applicable here:
      _"“Politics is the art of the possible, the attainable - the art of the next best”_

    • @SunflowerSocialist
      @SunflowerSocialist 7 лет назад

      wiet111 1) Nuclear waste is a serious problem
      2) Better than coal is like crack being better than heroin. We need to ban fracking, not expand it.
      3) There are four candidates who are mathematically capable of winning the electoral college. If we do not compare all four candidates we do not get a complete picture that shows us all the options and present a biased image. This is the problem with the presidential debates.
      4) So we should only vote for candidates who will win? You do realize that candidates only win IF YOU VOTE FOR THEM. That is the whole point of voting.
      5) Clinton's plan will also get us to the 2 degree tipping point. We need to vote for what we want and need and Stein's plan is what we need.
      6) I would like to counter you quote from a abhorent historical figure (google Kulturkampf and Anti-Socialist laws), with a quote from George Bernard Shaw.
      "The reasonable man adapts himself to the world: the unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself. Therefore all progress depends on the unreasonable man."

    • @wiet111
      @wiet111 7 лет назад +4

      Brendan Davison 1) Not really. There is very little of it, and we can take decent care of it. We have had no serious problems, and compared to the waste from other sources it is basically negligable. Nuclear waste is not a serious problem.
      2) I would like a perfect situation, but that is not going to happen. I'd prefer a combination of less harmful fossil fuels and green energy over more harmful fossil fuels confirmed with even more harmful fossil fuels.
      3) Let's compare the 4 candidates. We have Clinton and Trump, who both poll around 40%, Johnson who polls around 8% and Jill Stein who polls around 3%. The margin of error here is at most around 5%. The numbers are clear. Stein and Johnson don't stand a chance. Even if, miraculously they double the support they have in the coming weeks (and the polls show no sign of that happpening), they don't stand a chance. The president is going to be Trump or Clinton. Denying that is just lying to yourself.
      4) The US presidential election is pretty terrible. Because of how it is designed, the rational strategy is indeed to vote for someone who has a reasonable chance of winning. This is because it's a winner takes all deal, and votes are non-transferable. I could go into more depth here (I studied electoral systems quite a bit in college), but I'll keep it at that for now.
      5) Two degrees is mostly a guideline which it would be good to keep. It's not like anything below 2 degrees would be completely fine and everything above it equally terrible. 1.9 degrees and 2.1 degrees would not be that much different. Clinton would perhaps not lead the world to below 2 degrees, but she would get it closer to 2 degrees than the alternative.
      6)The unreasonable indeed get things moving. Sanders for instance drove Clinton further to the left. However, there is a limit to what the unreasonable can achieve. I would wholeheartedly support lobbying Clinton to get more pro-climate and stay active on the topic. However, voting for someone who won't get elected won't cause any progress.
      Let me ask you one simple question: If I were to offer you 5000/1 odds on Jill Stein becoming president, would you accept?

    Dear republicans, you have your right to have your opinions on gun control, abortions, big or small government, immigration and whatnot. However, you cannot deny the facts; climate change is real and was caused by man, we have to reduce our greenhouse effect gases emissions, liberals, nuclear is the safest form of energy, believe it or not, conservatives, again, vaccines have saved more lives than the war on terror. You can be anti-religion, or anti-government, or anti-immigration, but by no means can you be anti-science because there is no way to be anti-science and have strong arguments about it.

      Natural Gas, as produced by fracking, is significantly cleaner than coal. It's in no way clean mind you. Seth also didn't say anything about fracking being ok in his video. Lastly, it may be choosing the lesser between two evils, but at least one of those evils (the democrats in this case) recognises the overwheming scientific evidence and admits climate change is happening and that we need to do something about it.
