**Hey Everyone! For those of you looking for the thicker acetate/plastic for the box tops, here is a link on Amazon where you can find ones similar to the ones I use. amzn.to/3uF1ZN8 Hope this helps those who are having trouble finding them! Have a great crafty day! Big Hugs!
Best tutorial I have seen for making boxes any size. its the first box I have made that fits. I just have to work at putting it together neatly.Thank you.
Thankyou so much for your tutorial. It was very easy to follow your instructions, as you did not rush it through. Now i am able to present my coasters in a gift box. God Bless you kind lady.
This is an excellent video, very easy to follow, and the color added to indicate removal is very helpful. I am making notecard and envelope sets from recycled materials, and have been looking for instructions for making a reinforced box.
Mimi, your tutorials are spot on. So detailed and easy to follow. When I watched Armin’s video, I was actually wondering if the acetate was inside the bottom box or outside so your tutorial answered that question. So happy you made this tutorial. I love that your box is reinforced. TFS!!! 😀
TY I am wanting to make a donut box for my mini donut maker donuts I will hope you will show how to make one. And I will hope you show a half box donut box for reg donuts.
Thank you so much! I’m so happy that you found my tutorial helpful. Which bone folder are you asking about? If it’s the pink one, it’s an old Martha Stewart bone folder. I’m not sure if you can find it anymore.
Girl you did an amazing tutorial I love the detail in all you do. Thank you so much my friend. I am going to make it with bazill 110 cardstock that normally doesn’t crack with the creasing so we will see how it turns out I love this box it looks fancy lolol. Crafty hugs, Anna
Oh yay! After seeing the tutorial it’s pretty easy right? I told you it was a long, in-depth tutorial! 😂 I’m so glad you like it & I wanna see the ones you make when you’re finished! Have fun making the boxes & TFW! Mucho Hugs!
Question…if your lid is to be placed OVER the bottom, rather than IN it, what additional measurement should you use when cutting the lid? (The lid would need to be a little larger than the bottom since it goes OVER.)
How would you make a box for something larger than the 12x12 cardstock? I'm not sure if you covered it in the video already; I watched the first few minutes, but it didn't sound like you were going to. I've been looking around for an answer to this. I'm not sure if I should just overlap and glue multiple cardstock pieces together, or if the thickness of the overlap would be too noticeable. That's probably what I'll end up doing if I can't find an answer though, and just hope it isn't.
There’s no need to notch anything really. The lid can be pulled out without any issue. But it’s totally up to you. Feel free to add some type of pull if you feel it’ll help. Glad you enjoyed the video. Have a great day.
Love this video but I have one question- Do you glue the corner flaps on the acetate lid in place before placing it into the box or are the free folding? I appreciate you sharing your talented ideas with us! Betty
@@bettyg4250 Hi Betty! Thank you so much for your sweet comment. The flaps are not glued down for the lid. The acetate is thick & rigid enough to hold its shape to tuck inside the bottom. Hope that helps! TFW!

Thanks for this easy tutorial. You did a great job at explaining. Where did you get your bone folder? I love it!

I would do an 1/8 " larger
Love it just having problems finding the acetate.
Please see the pinned comment above for a source to find the acetate and TFW!
What do you do if you want a paper lid? Do you use same measurements as acetate?
How do you lift the acetate out of the bottom to open. Would you put notches on the side so you can lift out ( if this makes sense)
How would you make a box for something larger than the 12x12 cardstock?

In doing normal lid /cover with paper, we normally give an allowance of 0.4inches, doesn't it apply here for the transparent film?
How do. You open when acetate is inside. Would you notch the sides so you could pull up acetate. (If that makes sense ) lol. Love the video!
