Been bumping the same speaker for over 20yrs and have the new HCCA ready if I need it. The old one is only 1200w and I am only sending 500w to it. i call it my Two Twelve Killer. Unless you have Sundown. Then I would have to install the new one and just go head-to-head.
I had two 15.2 orion subs in an explorer with a 5500watt amp power acoustic to each sub and a kinetic2400 battery to each sub and fuck i blew my back window so yeah orion the best
Word hell yeah man I love Orion. Also I feel like bang for buck it's far more efficient than sundown. It's like.. if the hcca sub ain't enough, buy a Hcca spl sub. If that ain't cutting it go with hcca splx ya know? That is still staying under the cost of sundown subs of the same power capabilities and such. Besides I love a 4 inch voice coil. I just realized I'm running my amp at like .8 or .75 ohms and according to Dyno tests I've seen it will do about 7k @ 13.8 or so at .8 ohms. So my hcca 152 is getting hella power. My voltage almost never drops below 13.6. For some reason my coils read 1.3 ohms so it isn't really a 2 ohm hcca woofer lol. I thought that was weird but whatever it bangs.
@@arod22s_ I feel you on that. Can never have enough juice lol. I have a 80 ah agm battery under my hood and a xs power d5100 in the cab next to my Orion xtr2500.1dz amplifier. It's been working pretty well but I too would like another battery or 2. Also a new alt but my 200amp bosche will do for now. My truck has over 350k miles on it so I'm hesitant to keep throwing parts in it lol.
@@arod22s_ I'd like to get a custom box for sure but the box I have is extremely close to spec for what both manufacturers recommend for either sub so it should be decent enough for now. Good looking out for subbing I believe I'm subbed to your channel already I'll have to check though.
Absolutely not lol the Zv5 will eat the HCCA for breakfast lunch and dinner n shit it out next morning 😆. I had 4 12"HCCA splx subs in my 1999 jeep Cherokee Laredo build. Which was a clean clean build I put alot of money into it. It took me 2 years to complete that build. Anyway I ended up with Sundown X 15"s two of em.. and they hit lower deeper harder and louder than the HCCAs did.. in theory the HCCA subs should have beaten the two 15"s but they couldn't.. but the HCCA is still a good sub.. it's just the Zv5/Zv6 and even Xv2 / Xv3 Subs are far Superior to the HCCA..
I mean I can make my ab ten louder than my t1 15.. simply swapping boxes, amps, etc.. but on even playing field .. cone area wins.. now had u swap 12 for 12 and kept everything the same . I'd feel that..
Both brands are awesome. I've always loved Orion. Their amps are badass.

I wouldn’t knock either. Had a single hcca that absolutely slammed for 1 12, now I’m running 2 x 12s and they crush lows. Love em both
I wonder what will sound better 2 hcca 15s or 2 sun x15s. I'm currently switching my system into a 2 door Tahoe. Will post a video soon

That's crazy. I feel you on the bang for buck though. I'm gonna need a better battery for sure maybe a couple. I gotta see the 4 inches of travel.

I did some tweaking to my lc2i converter and boy I tell you that bitch flexing now. I'll make a video soon. I'm still running stock head unit😂😂

You are under powering the sub. That amp only is 1500 rms
You better do some research this amp puts out over 2900watts rms@1ohm. Look it up boss xtr2500.1dz
I do install for a living. That orian is 2500 watts rms. Xtr amps aren't made for hcca
