There was no WTCC between 1987 and 2005. And Super Touring regulations were far more free than Super 2000 regulations. But even with approximately 280 hp WTCC cars could keep up with supertourers.

It's interesting that this only produces 275bhp when the last version of the S42 in 1997 E36 WTCC produced 315bhp.
