@@whycantwebefriendzzI mean, unless you find it a compliment being compared to flume. I mean flume is an incredible and unique producer. I could see the beginning as having a flume resemblance (plucks, ambience, and tense harmony) but other then that I think it’s unique.
My man, not to put you down when you're just being positive and kind, but you should avoid starting a sentence with "as a producer...". It's 2023 bro, people can use full DAWs on their phone. Everyone is a producer
I really like what you've done with the contrast of the acoustic drums vs the distorted, ethereal synths. You mentioned it already but some more low end to the percussion would be great, and maybe use reverb, eq and compression to place them better in the "space" with the instruments
@@thechumbinator3070 Think the lo in lo-fi is a bit lower than it is in this, a bit more jazzy, too, but I may be wrong on what actually makes lo-fi what it is (lil' distorted perception, maybe). In my opinion, this sounds like a more organic future bass at a slower tempo and with some microtonal sauce in the middle. Might sound like lo-fi because of the microtonal movement often used in that genre and it's analogue tones. Not an expert, just just being a lil' nerd using all I've gathered from the internet along the years.

The drop at 0:16 sold me on the fact this doesn’t sound like Flume. Idk what do call the da-da part before the first few drops that’s just the piano, but THAT could pass as Harley’s stuff
Hahaha not the biggest flume head but I like what you did. Something sustaining through it in like an up and down hill would comp the heartbeat. Also the beep towards the end kicked ass.
to be honest I got kinda lazy with this one and the main synth is the "80s theatre" patch in FLEX, from arkum whatever that pack is called (usually I like to make my own sounds whenever possible). Anyway, it's got all the low end sucked out of it, drenched in reverb, and has the automated distortion on it. The audio clips you see are pretty straight forward too. The one is a pad sample I stole from somewhere and stretched a bit, again drenched in reverb. I then played the chords (F#maj7 and Cmaj-something-or-other iirc?) in a grand piano sampler, recorded it, stretched sections of it and chopped it. The bass is a distorted 3xOsc instance with all three oscillators playing triangle waves, each at a different octave. Volume envelope on it to vary the distortion fx. There's obviously more going on but that's the gist. Throw on the acoustic drum kit that everyone is ragging on, compress every track until the cows come home, and you get this. :)
Damn man this is really nice, i feel like in some parts the drums could punch a little more, also on the 2step part adding some more kicks never hurts :), alsp you could layer the drums with some more eletronic body and keep the acoustic low end? Really sick dude!
love the feedback, thanks man! The drums could probably use a bit more low end in general. A lot of people in the comments are saying electronic drums would sound better but honestly I disagree. I quite like the contrast between the acoustic drums and the heavily electronic synth-body of the track. Maybe not the best acoustic drum kit, but I'm happy with it regardless.

@@Omlet221 who wouldn't take getting compared to flume as an compliment 💀
that is the most fire line ive ever read...
Sounds like a version if vaporwave almost
synthesis granular with indie rock drums, there really should be more of this
Finally, someone who likes the acoustic drum choice!!
@@whycantwebefriendzz with that choice i think it would be super cool to have vocals over u track!
I'm a producer myself and let me tell you; make a full version of this song and give it your all, you have a banger on your hands brother.

Thanks my man! Appreciate it
Sounds more like Porter Robinson on Worlds.

That distortion sealed it. I love this

Thanks my man! :)
This is dope, homie! Chords are beautifully constructed! Definitely has such an uplifting feel to it! I love when you break it down to half time!
it would be a great fit for a coming of age movie
Please please please release this. Such a refreshing sound!

holy, did not expect that, sounds so sick man, I would make the drums less acoustic but still absolutely sick 🔥
damn dude it's actually so clean. I love the vibe, the structure and the variations !! The energy of the end😮
i love huge distorted chords + acoustic drums. reminds me of an old song by jaron
bro im telling you this is amazing, you should make a full version, and release it
Great atmosphere. I absolutely love the development of beat, especially from 0:47 till the end
is it just me or is this legitimately the best thing i've heard in a while.
Oh my gosh bro huge respect from one producer to another
Holy shit! Maaan, this is incredible. I love it!! Amazing job!
this is absolutely fire, good job sirrr
This song somehow made me cry and I'm not even lying wtf this is beautiful
beautiful. i absolutely love it
Don’t even know what this genre is but this was amazing
Future Bass
@@twighailey1967 how is this is any possible way future bass?
@@twighailey1967 I think this is closer to lofi than future bass.

This is so incredibly clean it's insane
Amazing!!!!
Love this👍
sick track man :)
I dont know how nobody here mentioned synthwave, this sounds just like a hotel pools or a.l.i.s.o.n track
Yeah I’m their love child
Beautiful omg
Earned a sub bro, ths is fire
sounds amazing actually
Sounds more akin to Former Hero or Jaron, but still amazing!
Just change the drums to be less acoustic and you got a 10/10
idk i think the drumbs are like this song is not about a girl ft chet faker
Yeah word he needs a high passed kick and a tight snare or clap then this is fire
Theres nothing bad about the acoustic drums they are great. But in my opinion if he will make the first drumline 2 times slower it will be better

There's a button in the top bar that's just an arrow pointing to the right (as of FL 20), that's it that's all!
this could SO easily turn into one of those viral edit audio things
I don't buy the flume comparision but i'm vibing with this dreamy pop sound
How did this get to my main page move than half a year later?! Amazing tune bro, really smooth
This is dope!!!

Dayum. Makes me wanna make music!
Make a full song. Idgaf what chu have to do. This is too fucking good to just be a lil snippet fr.
I love it
this is straight gassssss.... I would change some of the drum sounds if you want it to sound more like flume but either way this is incredible!
I need this on my playlist🙏🙏🙏
I love it man please can you explain how you did it bc im wanting to be a music producer i even have fl studio pro and am a beginner
This goes so crazy
that second half is insane
ima take some notes on this sound this is a banger

M38 style vocals would go great with it. I like the vibe. Keep it up
i'm in love with this, let me know if this is released on soundcloud or spotify

oh and soft distortion is your friend. I have distortion on almost every mixer track on this song, it's my secret ingredient that I guard closely.

I'm glad i did not regret not clicking this video on my recommendation page
i mean flume as a genre is a pretty wide spectrum
more like former hero but still sick, I would recommend changing the drums to more punchy ones tho
WE NEED A SPOTIFY VERSION

ngl this would go crazy as a calm trap beat tho
that kick is THICC
has some san holo vibes for me! dig that a lot
i think i would hear this while playing. like a 10 minutes thing lol, Remember this, this video would be over 100k views, im not crazy
