- The Nazareth Ring Ceremony is a long-standing legacy which goes beyond the blessing of jewelry to mark the memories each class shares and to welcome them into their roles as the school’s leaders. Traditionally held in the Spring, the service for Nazareth’s Class of 2021, was reimagined and organized with safety precautions and delayed to Fall 2020.
To limit the number of students in the Alexine Chapel, the class was divided into four groups for a morning prayer service and blessing. Even with the changes, Nazareth strove to uphold the scripture and tone that have marked this important Nazareth tradition.
Mrs. Rausch opened the morning in prayer, including a blessing for the senior class and a reading from Ecclesiastes. A different senior offered a reflection on behalf of the class each day. Ms. Bethany Mager ‘99 and Mr. Sean Pearson ‘91 offered reflections on behalf of alumni about how their own class rings have served as symbols of the foundations laid at Nazareth. Mrs. Tracy & Mrs. Hawkins offered additional blessings and prayers.
“As these students continue their place as the leaders of Nazareth Academy, bless them with wisdom and care for our world and each other.
We pray that these rings will be a source of pride and unity.
May these rings bring them closer to You so that they may be leaders of a world filled with faith.”
We were not able to welcome extended family members this year, but the service was recorded so that it may be shared in the coming days.
