The NEMA system is messed up, it makes no sense how a type 3RX has more protection than a type 12 but a type 6 supersedes both of them fundamentally. IP is straight forward The higher your number + a K the greater your level of protection. Minus mining standards that doesn't apply to the 99.99% of installations world wide. Get a grip America.
