Some of your complaints were valid. I beat the game back in 2011 when it first came out and it took me the entire summer to get everything unlocked, it was difficult but ultimately very satisfying when it was done. But that Black Cat fight was egregious. I remember my first playthrough getting to the first Black Cat fight and I barely survived that, but the final three battles in the jungle to get the key damn near made me rage quit because I got killed so many times. What's worse from a story perspective is that once Black Cat disappears, we never see her again for the rest of the game even though it's implied that CEO Peter constantly experimented on her, so you'd think she'd want to get it back in blood for the final battle at the gateway.
One of the things, that hurts this game is it's story along with each character choice each character makes the only character I liked is Spiderman 2099.
Wish they could make a revamp of this game with better graphics and slight changes to the story. Maybe have limited freeroam (something like Batman Arkham Asylum where you can roam the entire island, except in this case the entire Alchemax Facility in both future and present). DLC for 2099 Spider-Man that lets you swing around in the future would be fun considering we haven't ever had a freeroam 2099 game before (correct me if I'm wrong). So better graphics, improved web-swinging, a bit of DLC, and slight changes to the story would probably put this game up there with Insomniac's Spider-Man 2 just my opinion though, so please don't start world war 3 in my replies if you disagree
I know you said to not start ww3 but I'm launching the nuke anyway, sm2 wasn't as good as sm2018. But jokes aside, I love that idea and would go in debt to buy it.
