This is very untrue, when you get a lot of views and attention and it doesn't relent, that changes your personality a lot. I know this because it happened to me. My channel kind of exploded out of nowhere, and although it's only at 1.45k, that's not bad for the community I make videos for. I wasn't really ready for all the attention I got, and it made me very self centered. Now imagine how much Ricegum got changed from him getting more than 1,000,000 times more subscribers than me.
@@SkeletonSSBM You can only speak for yourself, though, your experiences are not universal. If you switched up after your channel exploded, that only means you weren't 'mature' enough to handle it and your change in behavior acts as the unveiling of who you are (or were) at your very core.
True for some people but I don't think this is universal. Take child actors for example. The fame and money does fuck them up. I don't think those kids were just shitty people at their very core
@@MrFredstt That's a different case entirely tbh. Children aren't meant to be under those levels of stress and scrutiny at such an early age, that just adds trauma on top of their immaturity
He didn't become irrelevant because of what he did, he became irrelevant because he stopped posting. That's literally it. He just became lazy. I studied his audience and they're blindly faithful, and he would likely be at 20M subs if he kept posting, like KSI or Logan Paul. It's not that deep. Prime example is Keemstar. The guy is HATED and did so much negative crap that people dislike and yet his channel is doing the best it ever was, despite so many times where he was losing subs, simply because he still posts consistently and gives value to his audience.
I think the only difference with them is that if KSI wasn’t uploading as much or became lazy as he did a few years back then people would still be anticipating his return. RiceGums a big name but not like KSI but I do agree with your point

I like how people are just hearing about NigaHiga, one of the most OG RUclipsrs, and writing comments like "sunny said the n word?????" FYI, nigahiga is Okinawan and his name translates to "ranting higa". Higa is his last name and he was famous for his comedic rants among other things. He was well-respected in the old RUclips days because he was one of the first to have 1 million subscribers and collabed with other OGs like Smosh, Jenna Marbles, and more.
I don't really get why he stopped uploading. His last upload over 5 months ago has well over 1 million views. He was still pulling views. But it's surprising how he hasn't earned any subscribers in 2 years

This dude once reached out to me about doing some design work from him. When I first received the email, I was not too weirded out as I work for a professional gaming company and get a lot of my bigger clients off word of mouth. His email matched the email in his about section of his youtube account, so I responded. When I asked about commission, as any freelancer does, he flipped out and acted as if I should bow down to him. He told me the amount of "exposure" I would get is more than enough and that I am sounding "ungrateful." He mentioned how he will just go get one of his thousands of designers that will work for free for him. I simply responded that I am sorry it didn't work out, and best of luck with his free designs. I have worked for "exposure", as any other esports designers I'm sure have at one time. I quickly learned that doesn't pay the bills. I am in no way shocked his ego got the best of him. I only really knew of ricegum from his past videos, so thought it would be a cool opportunity to work with him. Little did I know the ego he has let take over from his early youtube days.

Prime example is Keemstar. The guy is HATED and did so much negative crap that people dislike and yet his channel is doing the best it ever was, despite so many times where he was losing subs, simply because he still posts consistently and gives value to his audience.
He streams on twitch almost daily and averages 15k views a stream #RGS
