I noticed the music! It was lovely but also if it causes extra grief (plus a week delay) then I’d say go with the flow. Thanks for the fall knitting inspiration!
Just a note to let you know that I so enjoy your podcasts. I love the banter between the two of you and always love hearing about what you are knitting and what you want to knit. Kim, I loved the pictures or your trip to Nova Scotia. I sat on the very same rock at the lighthouse and did some knitting (maybe a stitch or two, it was so cold in mid October and the wind was fierce. Just brought back such great memories of a trip with a special friend who sadly passed away a few months later. We went to those same yarn shops. I bought a kit to make Lunenburg from the Mariner's Daughter and I need to get busy and make that sweater for this fall and winter. I also share Jonna's love for all things PetiteKnit. Enjoy you both.
Carlos, you are so right, those last years with your parents are so important, to them, and you. I enjoyed being there for mine, and though they are gone now these last few years, I think of them daily, I miss them, and will always feel love for them. You have my respect and best wishes, as you do for yours as I have done for mine. ❤
Jonna!! I'm so happy you are joining in on the WestKnits MKAL. I'm really excited to see your progress. I finished last years Twists and Turns last week. 😂 And I am s surprised how much I actually really really LOVE it!! It's big and wild but also pretty much amazing! So good luck! I love your colors. I'll be tuning in! Also, what if you just do a solid bottom on the last clue of your Shawlography. Instead of striping, just so a solid. Your shawl is REALLY REALLY BEAUTIFUL! Finish it! You'll be so glad!!!
Another wonderful episode, you got me through my first sweater "surgery" with this one (my "no frills" needed collar adjustments and it's a top down construction so I had to cut some of the collar - scary!). Kim's weak high five at the end made me laugh so hard I got tears in my eyes and had to stop what I was doing because I couldn't see through them 😂 Thank you for sparking so much joy!! 💖
A lovely fun episode ladies. I noticed the knitting song wasn't on last time but never said anything as I thought you were just having a change around with your music😄. I love the knitting song so I do hope one day it will be back again xxx
Sophie trick for Jona…..use 2 or 3 lightbulb makers. When you increase or decrease, put a pin marker (# 1) on the row. eight rows later at the inc/Dec add a marker (#2). 8 rows later, inc/Dec and take the first pin (#1) and mark the new inc/Dec row. Then just eyeball your Increases / decreases using the markers as a visual guide. Easy Peary…I sometime will use a third marker so three inc/Dec markers are in place.
Just a heads up on the Rein Cardigan for your husband, Kim on Fleece and Harmony Knitting and Crochet Podcast made it and after a few rounds decided it was smarter to DUPLICATE STITCH the reindeer. She talks about it extensively on an episode
Kim, a word of caution on the Kelbourne Woolens Scout - I made a cardigan and found it to be super itchy on my arms (the sleeves were quite fitted) which made it unwearable on bare arms. I had no issues while knitting, so it was an unpleasant surprise (because of course I did the sleeves last!). It also attracted quite a bit of pet hair and fuzz.
Great episode, it was filled with inspiration. I am all in for the Petite Knit KAL and I think I am ready with my pattern. Watching the samples from PUES was such a great idea. Can't wait to go to the store to pick up my yarn. Thanks for all the work behind this!
Karen and Felicia are so easy to work with, thanks for the discount! I have three Petite Knit patterns ready to go with the yarn-the Stockholm slipover v-neck, the Oslo hat, and the Eva cardigan. I may add in a fourth, the Hanstholm sweater would be great for my husband. I just love Petite Knit patterns. Kim, your Lunenburg is beautiful. Jonna, the Hyun sweater is going to look amazing on you. I may have to add that to my list for my daughter! I hope you both have a great couple of weeks! As always, thanks for the friendship and the inspiration!
I stopped my Shawlography shawl before the last part with the stripes because I didn’t like them either Jonna. I did a few garter rows and then did an icord bindoff. I couldn’t be happier with it. The size is perfect.
I just wanted to reinforce thumbs up for Felicia and Karen’s help picking yarn. They are wonderful and very helpful. I’m going to knit the Jenny jacket. I was a little apprehensive about the stitch pattern - might be beyond me. But I love that cardigan, so I bought extra yarn to practice and I hope for the best. Kim, thanks for the scan pic of the shop. Beautiful! Love your podcast ladies! 🌷
Such fun! Jonna love your Audrey. I’ve seen a few now and it’s in my favourites ♥️ knitting what inspires me and what I will wear hasn’t always aligned so I’ve given away a bit and now I need to engage my brain now!! I’m doing the MKAL again, woohoo let the craziness unfold. Kim the Rein would be so cute with a red Pom Pom! I’ve heart a few people struggle with it but you are now the colourwork/intarsia queen so I’m sure you’ll investigate well before liftoff. Thanks for the fun and inspiration, Karen 🥰
Fabulous podcast. I sure got lots of inspiration from this episode. Kim I am envious of your approach to knitting as it makes so much sense. I used to buy single skeins that I loved so now I am on the hunt to use them in sweaters so I need the main sweater quantity to go with. Living in Southern California I don’t knit with worsted Thanks for the suggestions, laughter, and your thoughts on future knits.
Love a petite knit kal! I am also trying to knit more for my wardrobe and despite the fact that it feels so boring to me I am going to knit a black Eva cardigan. I just know I’ll wear it all the time.
You complement each other so well! This was chock full of content and inspiration. I am knitting the Felix cardigan while watching you. This is the first time I am imitating the yarn and color modeled. Very relaxing knit.
I did notice the missing song, and threw me a curve ball if it was a regular episode or not. I was sad too but just patiently waited for the explanation. Hope that song makes a comeback in one form of the other. If not, I'm sure you'll pick the next perfect one. Loving all the fall inspirations.
Great episode and so much inspiration. My favorites list becomes bigger and bigger. I am a slow knitter and lately also notice that I am quite monogamous. I also get easily distracted and what to knit all the knits😊. But now I am committed to use my stash, I don’t allow myself to buy more yarn until I make a good dent in the stash. It just happens that I bought yarn sometime back for Petit knits’ Camel sweater and I will join your kal to make that. Keep the inspiration flowing and thank you for all these wonderful episodes.
As usual: another great episode. I was planning on knitting the Oslo sweater for the KAL. It's been sitting with the yarn and the pattern ready to go for more than a year. When I was looking at the PetiteKnit website I noticed the Stockholm sweater. For the life of me I can't see any difference between Stockholm and Oslo. Am I blind? I'm debating just buying the Stockholm pattern too and then comparing them practically line by line. But that seems wasteful since I'm not planning on knitting virtually the same sweater twice. I'm just hoping someone in the KAL might see this and be able to tell me the difference. Thanks for showing all those PetiteKnit samples. That was great!
Hi! Jonna here. Funny, I had the same question. The Oslo has 8-10" of positive ease while the Stockholm has 6" of positive ease. Also, to me, the Stockholm seems to have more of a balloon sleeve. This is all I can see from the pattern pages. It would be interesting to see a comparison. I watched Florence of @handmadebyflorence compare the April and Champagne Cardigans and it was very interesting!! Good luck choosing.
I was so involved in knitting and watching I didn't get to post, so had to come back. Love your podcast! All the sweaters and yarnie things just make me happy. I'm currently still working on my Traveler by Dreareneknits. (Andrea Mowry). I'm definitely going to the the petite knits kal. I'm hoping I'm finished with the Traveler by then as well as the Louise slipover I started earlier this month. I love my Vellichor! it was definitely a labor of love. I made a mistake on it that I'm sure I wouldn't have if I'd had the row counters I've purchased from Twice Sheared Sheep. I have a variety of them in different sizes and really love the short 5 row one. I recently figured out (read the directions) what that little clippy thing was for and man it really helps with counting sets of stitches. I also got the increase and decrease ones. Today is another cooler day for us here in the south. Yesterday was in the 90's.
You guys are the bomb! And Felicia and Karen too. What a fun episode this was and even though I’m not gonna do any of that stuff I love all of it! LOL. Also I bought a ton of John Arben by numbers DK from pick up every stitch and it’s just been wonderful love it so much.
I hear you on the Half & Half! I thought the same thing before I made one, but I found myself completely in love with Linen Quill yarn. It works up into such a gorgeous fabric. I loved knitting it more than I just as much as I do having it. It’s too big for a shawl for me, but I love it as lap blanket 😊
I loved this! I cannot believe no air conditioning. You all are too nice, haha! I think I'll do the festival sweater, or Sunday cardigan. All the best! Kimberly
Hypnosis by Mikiko Gasnier, is stunning. Inspired by Mel Makes Stuff, I have bought the Rowan book containing this pattern and another Japanese pattern book by Erica Tokai again with many beautiful patterns. Not been brave enough to cast on yet. Also I have a MKAL shawlography languishing just before the last section! Another wonderful podcast. We just had the hottest day of the year in Scotland last week. Summer knits back out.x
I never see anyone knit/mention Petite Knits Ballon Cardigan! I love mine and the button band is knit as you go. And the sleeve decreases at the wrist are so pretty. 😊. I would love to/plan to knit either the Storm, the Ingrid or the Moby sweater. ❤
All lovely texture!! I (Jonna) tried the Balloon Sweater and got overwhelmed by the increasing on both sides. I'll give it another look now that I have experience doing that on the April Cardigan.
Yessss! I was watching Handmade by Florence and she used the beautiful combo of Knitting For Olive merino and silk mohair. This would be a beautiful DK choice and the yarn is reasonable, especially with the discount.
@KnitTogetherwithKimJonna no. You were talking to several ladies and I didn't want to interfere. It was just nice seeing you. Enjoy Dallas and safe journey home.
I think the Anker Tee by PetiteKnits, is the pattern I will knit. They say it is a beginner level for one who has not knit many sweaters. You both are so ambitious! All the sweaters and patterns you are wanting to knit are wonderful. I wish you did have more hands to whip them up and share with us. I just purchased the pattern for the Geogradient Mystery KAL by Westknits. My first time participating in one of his mystery shawl knit-alongs. Fall is going to be a full season of new knitting experiences. StitchedbyMimi
Would Kim ever consider doing visible mending to her old store-bought sweater? Knitting elbow patches wouldn't take long. I've never done darning but it looks cool when people do it on insta.
The only problem with doing a KAL using Instagram hashtags is they took away the ability to see all the posts under a particular hashtag and now will only show you "Top Posts" or "Top Recent Posts". There's no more ability to sort by new. It's a real pain. Just thought I'd mention that in case you haven't noticed the change to hashtags or your accounts haven't been affected yet. They seem to be rolling out that "feature" a little at a time, but I think most people have been updated now.
Jonna, about your shawlography. I remember awhile back that little girl from a hundred acre wool had the same feeling about it you did and finished her shawl with the border of another shawl of his. Bottom line I think it was beautiful. I far prefer her rendition. Yours is beautiful I’d love to see it finished I hope you find something you like to finish it with.
I noticed the music! It was lovely but also if it causes extra grief (plus a week delay) then I’d say go with the flow. Thanks for the fall knitting inspiration!

I agree! It really is beautiful.
Jonna your selection of knits are beautiful too, top down cardio is beautiful!!
Another wonderful episode, you got me through my first sweater "surgery" with this one (my "no frills" needed collar adjustments and it's a top down construction so I had to cut some of the collar - scary!). Oohh love the long tube sleeves on the pattern Jonna x
The Maple knit is stunning!!
Fantastic episode. Love all your plans for future knitting. 🇬🇧
I'm in for the KAL!!!!! I enjoy your videos so much- they are my favorite! (And I never hear background noise).
Yay! Thank you!

Wonderful knit idea for your husband xx
Loving the hair colour Kim
You ladies are dangerous! So much inspiration here!
😍
Just a heads up on the Rein Cardigan for your husband, Kim on Fleece and Harmony Knitting and Crochet Podcast made it and after a few rounds decided it was smarter to DUPLICATE STITCH the reindeer. She talks about it extensively on an episode
Good to know. I will pass this along to Kim!
Hi Jonna, I know you like to watch new podcasts.... “Those Twins Who Knit” are very creative knitters and “aka Nora Knits” is hysterical.
Oh thank you!! I'll add them to my list.
Kim, a word of caution on the Kelbourne Woolens Scout - I made a cardigan and found it to be super itchy on my arms (the sleeves were quite fitted) which made it unwearable on bare arms. G'Day ladies Havn't watched in a while, been working on my last Open University assignment, wish me luck!! Anyway, really enjoyed it and back again x
Welcome back and good luck!
Finished my cotton stripey blanket and started another two blankets in cotton and wool. Loving catching up with your videos xx
Jonna, your Audrey Top is gorgeous on you. Love all the Fall knit ideas. 😊
Oh Kim your current project is so perfect, I love the colors! ❤
Oohh love the jumper too!!

Certainly inspired to join the Kal. Hoping to knit a cardigan or slip over vest.
I saw that single color easy v also. Bought the yarn but instead I’ve cast on a more practical (for me) turtle neck. But yes that was lovely.
GEO means EARTH. He even has earth behind him on the poster!
Duh, lol!! Thanks for the heads-up!
dont worry , no sound distractions, except all the pretty gorgeous knit!!!!!!!!! thank you for all your sharings.

Thanks for all the inspiration. I am crocheting pumpkins for my garden club and am so anxious to get back to my wips. I can’t do it all fast enough.

Thanks for such a jam-packed episode! So much inspiration for the KAL, deciding is the hardest part.
Love petit knit patterns, I want to knit them all and seeing the examples today was inspiring! ❤
Same!!

It wasn't as bad as we expected! Great choices! We can't wait to CO.
Such great company!
Ha! Grandma crop! I love it. That's what I do. I didn't know it has a name. 😂
I am knitting the Wildhorse cardigan by Jessica McDonald with a shawl collar and i cant wait to wrap myself us in it, I think you might like it Kim

OK, now I have PetiteKnit patterns swirling through my head. I need to get over to PUES!
Yessss! I was watching Handmade by Florence and she used the beautiful combo of Knitting For Olive merino and silk mohair. This would be a beautiful DK choice and the yarn is reasonable, especially with the discount.
Saw Jonna at DFW fiber fest. That was a treat

The Anker Tee is lovely and a good choice!
You make me want to knit a petite knit sweater. 😁
Yes!

Another wonderful podcast…and you’ve reached 15K subscribers…👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🤗🧶💗
Yesssssssss!!!
I have been wanting to make the Sophie Shawl with fingering double. I even have the yarn & pattern. ❤
Perfect!
Can’t wait to see the reindeer sweaters

Wow. Thanks for letting us know. I’ve already set up a Ravelry Group!
Hoping to knit Storm Sweater
Perfect!
I DID notice the change of song… I thought it might be a copyright issue. Please don’t worry about it!
Yep!
Are WIPs allowed? I'm already working on the Louvre sweater
Yesssssss!!
That’s good to know. I’m currently working on the Ankers Cardigan My Size and I love it so much I might cast on another one right away!
Dumb question: How do you find all these knits on Instagram? Do you pick a designer?
search for a hashtag....for example, #champagnecardigan
