@@mariaa_223 right! Also got in trouble for any type of nail polish or wearing makeup lol. I’ll be 30 in a week. For context, my grade was the same year as the 2000s. Example, in 2006 I would have been in 6th grade. lol
In their defense it was a private school so we did have rules for uniforms
When I (m) was in high school, there were two girls with same name. One of them got in trouble and the office called my mom, who also has the same name as her mom. She thought I did something until the woman said she did…. Then my mom said I have a son not a daughter at that school. Then everybody figured out what happened. Fortunately, they figured that out before they had to do detention or get punished at home.😅
3 stupid reasons I got Detention
1. Detention for highfiving my friend to hard. We passed in hallway and Highfived and it just happened to be a really good one that was loud. We got in trouble for bullying or fighting or something.(highschool)
2. Detention for throwing the head of a yellow dandelion at a bus where my friend got on, just the flower nothing else. (4th grade)
3. Detention for being late because the bus driver closed the door in front of my face and drove off. She did this to multiple kids that weren't even troublesome. (High school)
in year 2 i got punished for helping a classmate collect the rulers...
I called a kid gay at a Christian school. 2 years later he told my sister that he actually is gay. I want an apology from his parents
I'm 43 now. I was in a grad 2/3 class, as those classes were devided. anyway, we all thought our teacher was as dum as a post. she was really weird. one day, I got detention, because someone said thankyou to me, and I shortened you're welcome to you're welk, what a dumb bitch for giving me that detention, I still think today it was dumb. all though, we'd gotten passed all that, but she was so easy to piss off, I'm telling ya.
I was punished in PE for struggling due to my asthma and the fact I still hadn’t quite gotten over a bad chest infection. I told the teacher I was really breathless and didn’t feel well and I got in trouble for it. She had no sympathy for me whatsoever.

I can't believe how easy many of these kids got off. If i was offered a choice of "apologize for something that's not your fault or get punished," and accepted the punishment, the penalty was always elevated.
Like: "say you're sorry or you get detention"
'I'll take the detention'
"Ok enjoy your 3-day suspension"
"Make it a week."
Back in middle school I knew this kid who got detention because he accidentally said the N word instead of "Niger" when the teacher asked him to point it out on a map during a geography lesson.
I can only imagine what might have happened had he referred to Ebeneezer Scrooge as niggardly.
HS, junior year (11th grade), I was updating the computers at my desk, I had to fiddle with one to get it working. By that time, my shop teacher (did I mention it was a vocational school?) looked at everyone’s computers using the program the school puts on all the computers owned by the school and saw what I was doing. I had I think a week of in-school suspension for it. I still think it was stupid years later

Burped in class which scared the crap out of my teacher.
Principal couldn’t stop laughing. That detention was excused in short order.
