Every time Chishiya is in a game, I always think he got some type of strategy. But nah, he's just surviving off of his gut feeling and observation. He's just chilling eating his cookies. 💀

In manga he's actually is not in Jack of Hearts but Jack of Diamonds instead. I kinda wish they show his 1st day in Borderland which he plays 6 of diamonds.

The Jack Of Hearts game is definitely my favourite game in the entire series the amount of mind games and backstabbing was insane.
It kinda got hoed in the adaptation unfortunately, it was what I was looking forward to the most.

@@kevisback2463 in the manga, Chisaya isnt a part of the game. I get why they changed it and its not THAT big of a deal, but its still a little unfortunate. None of the cookie bs happens. The side story follows all the characters somewhat individually with a huge focus on Chad and the serial killer, as they solve the game all on their own.

This Jack of Hearts game is such a good idea, it's interesting that you'd go into a hearts game alone because you'd never wanna kill a friend, then have this game be easy if you did bring a friend.

but you CAN win heart games together. the author himself confirmed that all of arisus friends could have survived that hearts game. and he also wrote another story 8 years after alice in borderland 2 with a 9 of hearts game where all can survive. it’s absolutely worth the read,only 13 chapters long! (make sure to read AFTER fully watching both seasons since it plays 8 years in the future)

Chishiya is the most interesting character of this entire show to me. I love how he is both clever and smug but in such a subtle way.

He's also really pretty. Him and Kuina make such a good team!
Kyuma was so sympathetic because his actor (Tomohisa Yamashita) really brought out a great character that's only in two episodes. The actor is a VERY, VERY successful Japanese actor AND musician, so this role was basically perfect for him.
I was actually wondering if the actor was really the one singing during his flashback. That's so cool!
Chishiya bonding with someone in his own special way and then they get taken out. He doesn't show much emotion but he still cares.
I didn't expect this episode to make me cry for Kyuma and his friends AND Tatta, but it did.
Kyuma and his friends seemed like decent people and the best losers ever hahs

the most glaring issue with staying there forever is that you need to give an answer every hour, I dont think you will get alot of sleep
If it’s every 7-8 hours then I wouldn’t mind staying there forever. But imagine one day you oversleep then you would die without even knowing 😂

The only flaw with that logic is that everyone outside of the game would die because of the visa expiring if the players stay there forever
@@Knightingale14well it's technically not a flaw but just logic since in the end to leave borderland every game has to be cleared and even when arisu was playing queen of ❤ he almost killed her and realised the consequences if he did ( no queen = no ending to the game so everyone dies from they expired visa )

Tatta didn't survive 💀🤭
For those who want to know more about Tatta's backstory. When he was 18, he dropped out of school and dreamed of becoming successful. He was determined to do better than his father who died of anxiety, and to no longer be a financial burden on his mother. His plan was to become a comedian and appear on television. His mother, however, didn't have any faith in him, but that didn't stop him from pursuing his dreams. Tatta always tried to stay optimistic whenever he could, believing that he could get by just by being upbeat and vigorous.
He lined up three part-time job interviews, one of those jobs being that car manufacturer we see in the show. He even invested money into taking courses on how to become successful. However, everyone else kept discouraging and putting him down, saying his ideas were trash and embarrassing. Despite how many people told him he wasn't cut out for that line of work, despite all of his friends going to college, Tatta still tried to keep his hopes up and continued to chase his dream, to accomplish something big in his life.
Drowned in nothing but insults, each day was another of self-denial. He started relying on his mother to spot him some money, the very thing he didn't want to do. Eventually, all of his friends abandoned him, pursuing their own futures while he was left alone with his dream nowhere in reach. His mother soon got fed up with him asking for money and cut him off. In the end, he never achieved his goal to become successful, but instead became lonely and forgotten. His part-time job became full-time. In an attempt to do better than his father, he just ended up doing worse. Tatta tried his hardest in life, but he wasn't good enough in the end. Then he went to the Borderlands.
These were Tatta's final thoughts before he died: *"I did it! In the final of final moments, I did it! Even someone as useless as me can do it if they try. I think now I can understand how Shitara felt, putting his life on the line for his friends. Arisu, you have no idea how much your simple words saved me. I also... thank you..."*

@shiara ruiz Yes!! The manga handles all these characters much better. I don't know why they adapted season 2 so poorly. We also lose great character development from Aguni, Bow girl, Dodo (excluded in the adaptation) K ♠️, Arisu, etc.
@@blazingace1699 They only adapt the character information and development poorly* but other than that the live adaptation did a good job at everything and even sometimes they did it better than the manga (well since the author manga is working with the live adaptation) I don't know why some people like saying "poorly made adaptation" when it is done fine and great

@Aether Well the only thing they did better than the manga was to try and have Arisu be part of more games. I didn't like that in the Manga he only plays in 2 games, so I admit that was a better approach. Also giving us a perspectiveon more games was great by the adaptation.
But all the characters in the manga were more developed and as a result the games were more impactful... Also I hated that they didn't have Chishiya complete J♦️ before going to K♦️. That was such a badass scene in the manga.

Fun fact: The key of Jack of Hearts game is to have one person you can absolutely trust. It's easy if you come with a friend, hard when play with strangers.
Which is such a switch up bc usually you’d wanna stay away from a hearts game if you’re with your friends so it was such a good call to make that a sudden advantage
Yea agreed you'd have too know what the game is before hand though which is risky cause going it could easily end up being you vs your friend as it's a heart game so it's a high risk high reward scenario
Even if you don't come with a friend, you immediately pick two people in the beginning to be loyal to, once the game starts. Explain that statistically the chances are low that one of you three is the Jack, but even if so, that's why you're a team of three instead of two. You will always be honest about suits and always stay together so the other two members can't talk about the third behind their back.
Coming in, you get two folks before they get tainted by paranoia, and you'll outlast the Jack. Unless everyone but you 3 are dead. Then you have a debate on your hands. But as I see it, that's the best strategy for strangers.
Don't listen to anyone else, always listen to each other, establish yourselves round one and don't let anyone else "join" beyond your 3.
@@ShadowPhoenix82 On-top of this you should ask another player outside your group to be absolutely certain, and if they say differently ask another.
The #1 way to win is to secretly be partnered with someone else. No matter how much I think about it it's the statistically highest chance to win for both the Jack and the player. You should be able to figure out who lied in the final few people (unless your secret partner was the Jack.. in which case, they always win)

Every Chishiya-focused episode were the best episodes this season. They were so good it almost made me want a series where he was the main protagonist instead.
That si what make a show good that any character is as important and interesting as the main character because if only the main character is really interesting than it flop that is also squid game is a awesome show like this one and midnights masses

This game is even better when you think about how nobody would go to a Heart game with their friends, yet if you did bring a friend here this becomes very easy
The reason you wouldn’t be able to stay in the prison forever is due to the fact is the rounds happen every hour so you essentially will never get sleep. At most you can maybe get 30 minutes of sleep then stress the other 30 of tryna get the correct suit😂😂

But most have either been depressed (You really just stop caring whatever happens in front of you and become quite non-chalant about some brutal things) for years or just have way too good of an experience in the harsh world.
Reminder: The ones in the first season weren't game makers, they were dealers. Game makers Don't need visa, because they are already the "citizens" of the "country" (btw this is not a spoiler).
Sheera’s on top of it, it’s players vs citizens (face card players and their teams if they have one) just like the King of Clubs alludes to in his game. Blowing up the blimp is the equivalent of collecting the cards in this phase. Love the reactions!

Going in as a group to a heart game may sound good until you remember what happened in season 1 episode 3 when friends went to a heart game together.
Tatta's death honestly made me sad because he always wanted someone to be grateful of him, & when he finally got that recognition of doing a good job by Arisu, he could pass in peace. I guess I just understand that want of praise for doing something right in your life 😔

Kyuma was an amazing character and I love what he does for Arisu’s character development. After this game, there’s a slow burn to him using his logic more strategically and, in a way, that works for helping the others he’s playing with (which comes clutch later).
My dude Chishiya really understood the assignment for this game. I remember I was excited that he got a whole arc because he’s a true anime character with the dry humor and intelligence.

The true fatal flaw in not trusting anyone is that eventually you will have to trust someone, especially if you want to survive long term, lone wolfing it/the "I'm only out for my self" mindset only gets you so far.
Exactly- In the manga, they expand a lot more on the 3 types of players in this Game.
People who have 1 partner.
People who join a big group.
Solo players.
The solo players die off first. Then the big group.

Y’all gotta realize everybody here is different. Some of these guys can legitimately just be crazy like that girl. Also you can’t trust the people you came with, after all there’s no guarantee that person you been playing with is 100% sane. The only person who can survive this type of game is those with great people skills.

Well, the idea of chilling in prison safe is what many reactors seem to go for... the issue is that you're sleeping in less than one hour cycles, so that's a fast way to lose your marbles.

The problem with going in with a big group in a hearts game is that the game will force you to go against each other. Like how arisu lost his homies in that heart game. I plays with your emotions. You never know what the game is going to be before you go in
The Jack of Hearts game is one of my favorite game this season. Also you have to realize that you have to play this game every hour so you can’t even sleep. You can’t survive without sleep so you can’t actually stay in that game forever.

Roshi said that people should've just went as a team... BUT, you have to remember -- the NUMBER CARD games' suits were unknown until you actually register for the game while these FACE CARD games have blimps flying in the sky announcing to everyone what SUIT(type) it is and guess what? the #1 rule in the Borderlands is to play the HEARTS suit as a SOLO because almost everyone else aside from the winner is bound to die that's why the players who 'like' playing with friends are always conflicted whether to register as a team or not because they never knew if it was gonna be a HEART game.
The only thing with just chilling is that the face cards have the representatives in each game so there's no way people could just chill plus these games are all life or death so someone has to lose.

The way too beat that game is basically what roshi said, people would die and you'd need to take the risk of bringing a trusted friend in cause you wouldn't know what the game is until it starts and its a heart game (risk being cause they wont know until games if its teams or you vs your friend). That trusted friend would guarantee you and the friend survive, go around every single round asking everybody make a list of who lies cross off the list as people start dieing eventually weening out the jack or eventually just lie too the jack from that list (the jack may not lie straight away so every round if a new liar comes up just add them too the list) and game ends. It's a tough game cause people would have too die to win
As you probably know already, most characters come from alice in wonderland, (alice = arisu, chishiya = cheshire cat etc) we got introduced to Banda Sunato, who is iirc a man eating monster called Bandersnatch in AIW
