The first time I heard this concert was when I was 16 - 17 years old, like any ordinary teenager I listened to completely different music and was not interested in classics, but when the first Allegro tunes sounded, I just went numb and my skin covered with goosebumps ... 30 years have passed, but when I listen to this concert I’m still numb and goosebumps.
That's the magic of suspensions! As Fux said: "Endeavor, moreover, to introduce suspensions now in this voice, now in that, for it is incredible how much grace the melody acquires by this means. And every note which has a special function is rendered audible thereby."

The youth orchestra that i am in has to play this for our winter concert. This is my first year playing first violin. Im a little nervous about it but i think that we will do great. By the way 11:00 is absolutely fantastic!
In 1945, the Barcelona Municipal Orchestra, directed by Eduard Toldrà, performed in my city, Vilanova i la Geltrú. Maestro Toldrà, unjustly forgotten, received a warm tribute from his fellow citizens. One of the works performed was the Concerto Grosso no. 8 of Corelli. Listening to this piece, I try to guess what those spectators who had to live in the gray and sad society of the first Francoism and the post-war period felt, when they heard notes full of purity and sentiment. In that concert, he would also conduct what would later become the OBC, in Beethoven's Seventh, Richard Strauss' Don Juan and other works. Music connects us through time.
Grazie e complimenti. Saluti da Buenos Aires.
After years and years of gospel music imposition, our minds and souls are eager to be inebriated by this wonderful music, which represents my cultural heritage (I am Italian!).

Eyyy my high school orchestra is playing this for our winter concert :D High five!! Also, good luck!! It's a difficult piece to play together as a group.
The concert is marvelous and the interpretation is good. Many orchestra directors do not understand that Corelli tried to express the peaceful joy of the Christian Christmas and play this concerto too quick
Very nice version of an outstanding masterpiece! ruclips.net/video/iWtdIj6fQkw/видео.html If you want to check it out, we have a string chamber orchestra formed by young professionals based in the Netherlands, we perform everything from memory and that really helps us bring out the communication amongst musicians and also the audience. Here is a link to one of our recordings and you can find more info about us in the description of the video! Let's all keep enjoying amazing music together
1:46 i have to play this for a chair audition in my symphonic orchestra and i have to the concertato part. i am a cello. for a full 40 measures there are a total of 2 8th rests and only 2 are quarter notes, 4 are half and there is one dotted quarter note. every note but those 7 are 16th notes at 152 beats per minute. absolutely hectic.

This concerto is fantastic, one of the best piece of music of all time.
06:03 to 08:13 > one of the most sentimental and beautifully composed pieces of the baroque era.
I played this piece in my high school orchestra. After all these years I’m still in love with it.
the 2nd movement is the best thing that I've heard in my life
Daniela Nogueira yesssss
The last movement is beautiful too
Yes. It is, Celestial music if you will.
Corelli il massimo architetto dell'armonia barocca. Inarrivabile
Music that thrills and tears me apart, and finally puts me again in one piece, which flies straight to Heaven.

isn't it absolute power of Corelli that all orchestras on Earth have performed his concerto grossi?

Corelli, auténtica música de los cielos. Y la interpretan los ángeles.
Simplesmente magnífico!

Me encanta esta obra y esta interpretación
My orchestra, on the first allegro, we play the cellos a lot louder than the violins. We call it the cello concerto.
Yes, basses should play louder in that part.
+Isaac Talisman cello concertos didn't exist back then

Corelli reminds me in so many facts to Tartini
+Lic. Lilia Areli Díaz Aguilar Maybe it would be fairer saying that Tartini reminds a lot Corelli!
Corelli and Tartini inhabit different worlds; what an absurd comment.
