I'm curious what causes this? I'm guessing its random deposits of oil and whatnot for the smoke that is now getting vaporized, and for the flame, its just fuel and other hydrocarbons that have settled somewhere near the bottom of the engine?

This is caused by engine preservation oil. When we storage airplane for a long time, we use engine preservation oil

There is no sufficient air to fuel ratio hence the flames

👍 good to know ,I was just seeing some videos on aircraft crash investigation, in there someone said flame coming out of engines mid air is caused when there is not enough fuel to air ratio

Did you drain the engine oil reservoir prior to running and NDT? We drained and refilled our preserved and installed engines with Mobil II and it didn’t do this

It's look like there is a excessive fuel collected in fuel tank...?
