The cheapie looks like a single phase, and the Meanwell is a three phase for internal topology. When you go to the higher power levels, Texas Instruments (among others) make some great multiphase control chips for power inverters. The multiple phase lowers the ripple and allows three smaller output transformers instead of one very large one with more ripple.

i use server power supplies which have a current share connection.

I am agree with "they are not totally garbage" you just have to manage them so they can work properly, I also use them years with no problem, BUT you probably have to open the switching case and check for its FET's, transformer, output inductor, and elco. Some of them use potential magic smoke component...

Hay thanks , this is a really good video.
Oh and the load tester is relatively accurate, precise no.
I have 2 of those and compared to my fluke meters they are close enough.
    That aside.
I would like to see a video on server power supplies.
I use dell server power supplies.
They have so far been awesome and very low noise.
I am about to try my luck on a 400 amp set up maybe 500 amp.
I would like to learn more tho about ways to balance the load and how to increase the 12 volt to upwards to 16 volts.
    I run my radio at 14.4 , 14.6 andy box i run at 15 .
I figure its going to drop a small amount on volts so 15 seems a safe bet to me.
    Keep these awesome videos coming.

I'm running 2 Megawatt S-700-12 50 amp power supplies in parallel both are set exactly at 14 volts. They run a TS500 & are stackable to 200 amps. I tried just one with the amp & it blew the ps internal fuse off the board & overheated the mosfets
    Amp was pulling 57 amps.

Yeah but there is those of us that can’t afford that kind of stuff and we have to go with what you called “cheap Chinese junk” mine seems to work good for what I use it for

Server power supplies. Figured out the variable mod up to 14.8VDC 75amps with only a .4V drop.

exactly, super cheap, reliable and very low RF noise. Use an HP server power supply, but haven't modded it to output 13.8v my radio needs, still run it at 12.1. Do you have any links that show how to mod it?

There hundreds of people on RUclips converting those server mods

Stinger OFC wire is a pretty good bang for the buck. I always run OFC for anything pulling significant amperage. CCA is cheaper and will cause you problems sooner or later.. (knowledge gained from my car audio days).. LOL

Might be nice if your hand gestures included a pen, pencil, or cool smoking pipe as a pointing aid, so that any potential BBI video watching PTSD/flashbacks are minimized.

I would like to know if Mean Well Supplies Are Filtered Good, In Your Honest Opinion ?
You Can Message Me When Ever It's Convenient.
    Thanks Sharky

I use them a lot and you should use the right filter for your amps, between the switching and your Vdd (Amp).

Love your videos but please watch the language, because sometimes I have children watching teaching them from everyone's videos. It will help with subscribers as well, I do believe.

Mmmmm I dont agree !! ... the "cheap Chinese unit" did do as it was meant too ... "shut off "... The so called more expensive unit went into current mode still supplying current ??? ... I wouldnt guess what that would do but if your running @ 70amps from a unit that is spec'd at 40amps and you apparently design the unit not to supply 70amps ."wow" ... something is wrong dude...!! shut that damn thing off ... well done the chinese unit .... and the issue is spending the money on the more expensive unit may do more harm than good ...Dude...!!
