Richard, I love not only the sonorous beauty of your playing but the beautiful interiors of these magnificent English houses of worship. Thank you for taking me there every time.
I'm no longer religious since outgrowing the dogma; however, cathedrals and organ music lift me higher than any parochial organization and clergy could. Now, a much more spiritual person, I realize this is all my soul was needing. BEAUTIFUL!
@@beautyinsound Yes, indeed. I was working with RUclips on auto-play at my desk and found myself in another place. Where did this come from, turning around to find your post... funny how those things happen. Thanks for all you do here, it's much more than you may ever know.
I love Hymnals because I grew up as a Methodist and all my childhood days this Hymnals we sang at home , school and church . Even now , when I set myself to pray , I sing Hymnals . Thank you very much for this work .
Good PM Rex, We don't go to Church to learn dogma, as important as doctrine is. We go to learn about Jesus and His great love for us. Until we get to heaven, we will never outgrow our need for God. If you have a seeking heart, God will meet you at the point of your need. God bless you in your search for His presence in your life.
Kudos to you. I'm an ardent Pipe Organ, Pipe Organ Music, and Hymns-accompanied -with-Pipe Organ lover... Thank you for all you are doing. The Lord God bless you richly. Amen.
A TRULY unnecessary cautionary; you have NOO IDEA of what this artist holds in his spirit, soul and body regarding Jesus. Let go of your judgements and just enjoy the music
YOU are the AMAZING One, Rx! Your knowledge, skills, love of the organ & music, make that instrument sing as gift back to God the creator, & your audiences, as well as yours & your family's joy! Thx again!
Majestic and Relaxing Hymns on the King of All Instruments!! It is the Best! Thank you so much for sharing your talents with us who love and appreciate the Traditional Hymns and Classical Music that our Forefathers handed down to us!! Caroline your voice is so beautiful to listen too!! I grew up playing Hymns and Classical music on the piano, also my parents were in the Ministry which also created a deep love of the hymns we sang in church! Your favorites are also many of mine, I love them all!! Many thanks for your wonderful Ministry!! In Christ, Lynnae Larson Hartford, CT New England, US
What a hallelujah experience this has been; an amazing feast for the soul. God bless the writers of these glorious hymns, and God bless you Richard and Caroline for constantly reminding me of the effectiveness of these testimonies put to song to lift the soul from the doldrums and to be "high and lifted up."
Richard, Just discovered VC today! Rabbi of Temple Sinai, New Orleans and blessed with a pristine EM Skinner, 1926. The hymns are so great and a wonderful antidote to the neo Chasidic stuff our Reform Judaism seems to have embraced . Crazy !By the way, love those socks!
I am presently stuck in covid quarantine for 8 days in Colombo, Sri Lanka, confined to a small hotel room. I listen to Beauty in Sound as I "exercize," pacing back and forth and wearing a path in tre carpet. It's helping me from going completely stir-crazy, occupying my mind and distracting me from the monotony of back and forth between narrow walls. Thank you.
This is an exquisite collection of uplifting performances Richard thank you so much :-) And the pure earthiness of that girl's soprano voice is indescribably beautiful.
WOW!!! Wha a superb Virtual Church. So enjoyed watching it and listening to the hymns. Quite a few hymns that I know. Thank you Richard for this. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

I love the collection of hymns organ and vocals. I miss being able to hear this on Sunday afternoon after high church. Thank you so much. God Bless you Sir 🙏🙏🙏
Really nice selection of Places and organs.. You play some lovely tunes and with a passion for the sound your creating through these fab musical instruments....
Just discovered your site Richard, you are an amazing artist! being brought up as a child singing in choirs all my life, love"the oldies and goodies" and absolutely love your socks Thank you!
Evening Richard I've enjoyed every minute of your hymnes Caroline's incredible voice & organ pieces. My two cocker spaniels, Blake who is black & Bella always lie down quietly listening as well but tonight Blake was lying on his back wagging his tail so much to say what wonderful music. Thank you from the 3 of us & God Bless Caroline, Hugo & yourself.
From an old man once a decent boy soprano, & life long organ music fan, this has been real treat. I hope the neighbours are enjoying it. I have it through amp & speakers @ No 11. Just wonderful.
Richard, your playing is so inspiring. I particularly love your kaleidoscopic approach to registration, with constant changes of color and dynamics. It is truly sumptuous; a feast for the ears of anyone listening, and reveals the many sonic capabilities of the various instruments employed here. Blessings and gratitude from your fan from New York, Bob Wilson.
My Richard, such a fine variety! It is rewarding to hear the organ pieces, and wonderful Anglican hymns properly harmonized, and no doubt published with the correct lyrics. The Missouri Synod Lutheran Church has devastated that treasure trove of hymns by rewording and reharmonizing (distastefully so!!) It is terrific to switch and focus attention, finding delight in the English cathedral music and liturgy. Thank you and Caroline again for the effort and time you put into BIS. Bless you two and Hugo bunches. DJ in Knoxville TN
I love pipe organs. I enjoy this video. Some songs I know. Jerusalem is my favorite from chariot of fire. It is also in the hymn books to. I sang one song in the video along with the young girl. The Catheralls breath taking beautiful. Very well done on the pipe organ. I can just image all those pipes to tune them up. It will take days to do it.
Thanks for the service today thoughtful and relevant for today.like the service s from your church.greatful thanks.Ann Deakin Leycester House near Warwick UK
Love your beautiful rendition of "For All the Saints". It was the melody for the school hymn of my high school, Bishop Ireton High School, in Alexandria, Virginia, USA. Wonderful trumpet fanfare at the end. What great memories you bring back, Richard.
It's truly amazing how VC soothes my spirit when I most need it. Listening after a day of celebration juxtaposed with loss, this has been balm. A wonderful selection which touches every facet of our faith. Thanks immensely Richard and Caroline❤️
So far have only got to the end of the Lang, glorious tuba. How appropriate - Caroline singing the hymn of the Magnificat. Blaenwern. Oh man, didn't those Welsh hymnists know how to write men's lines! I must hie me to my bed, your music my lullaby. Thanks, Richard and Caroline.
Sang in Gloucester Cathedral; back in '74 with Trarbacher Kantorei, on tour feom Germany (stationed there in USAF). One of the world's great worship spaces, not nearly well enough known. This was like revisiting.
Such flashy socks! I would have worn my organ shoes, for ease of playing lol. Nevertheless the pieces selected are exquisite! Most people don’t realise how much work is involved in playing the organ.
Rusty: "(Shy) (Rusty Wears His Scientist Outfit And He's With His 23 Siblings And They All Wear Their Scientists Outfits) Whoa! Pipe Organs! Me And My 23 Siblings Love Studying Pipe Organs! Pipe Organs Are Very Interesting To Study! 🧡🤍!"
Hi Richard I really love your videos. Could you do one for the organ in Christ's Hospital Chapel when the organ refurbishment is completed by Manders? I played this in the 80's. What a machine!
Love the organs and that soprano is wonderful... such perfect diction, phrasing and sweet tone. Playing of course is stunning as always. That Victorian tracker is really interesting. That "party Horn" on the choir was a shock the first time. I'm assuming that's a 20th C addition?
This would be a good time to invite guests to improvise on theme from Karl Jenkins’ The Armed Man Mass for Peace;good example at end of Morning Prayer from Canterbury today on Utube
All very good and a very balanced programme as usual - Only one point, I find that the organ / voice balance seems to be in favour of the organ by a db or three
This is so beautiful. However it made me very nostalgic for my beautiful old Episcopal church. It became such a WOKE mess that I could no longer tolerate its heretical teaching. The playing was superb! Thank you.
Is it possible to put the titles up? Then I can quickly look them up and sing along. I love these hymns and it is hard to find a true fellowship that songs them. You two are IT for me. I recognized that hymn from the end of "Chariots of Fire" a favorite if mine . "O Jerusalem" ? I don't use paypal. Is there any other way to support you?
I’ll add a track list to the video in a few minutes. You could become a Patron or you could ‘Join’ BEAUTY IN SOUND if you wanted to support the channel - that’d be really appreciated 😊
@@beautyinsound Thanks. If one becomes a Patron can one pay with a credit card? I really love your Virtual Church. The hymns are really wonderful. I was raised in a conservative Lutheran Church fellowship and the hymn book was filled with them. Again, thanks!
When playing the Widor, I saw your iPad change pages without you tapping it. How did you do that? (I'm an amateur organist who still uses paper scores.) Enjoyed the full concert (and the socks!) 💗
Richard, I love not only the sonorous beauty of your playing but the beautiful interiors of these magnificent English houses of worship. Thank you for taking me there every time.
Food for the human soul and heaven sent. Praise be to God on high

After I have played organ in three churches today, still listening this. Never enough of divine music.
There's only one word for this entire video... WOW!!!
What your soul needs is not to be lifted up by beautiful music!
What you need is to accept Jesus as your Saviour.
John 3:16
I pray for you!

I'm loving your socks Richard. Beautiful playing!
Adding the voice gets me closer to heaven every minute!. Thank you
"Tell out, my soul, the greatness of the Lord"...and the greatness of your music, Richard & Caroline, which inspires me to reflect & worship.
well said @Jane mazzola. To God Almighty be the glory.
This is a superlative performance. Keep it up.
It feels like we're already in Heaven. Gobsmacked. 😍😍. This beautiful dialogue between organ and voice.

good idea, Richard. Hope you are recovering from yesterday! Cheers!
Wspaniałe, wokal przepięknie wpisuje się w głos organów. Proste a jakże szlachetne. Brawo!

Just love the soloist. Also, thanks for including "Eternal Father." It is the US Navy hymn. We sang it every Sunday when I was in the Navy.
When Richard and Caroline do this piece I always think of the men in my immediate family. All navy. Thankful that they all returned okay.
Definitely a desert island complication, this one. Thanks Richard! Fantastic stuff.
Glad you liked it J! I’d be intrigued to know which your top 10 hymns would be - I’ll be in touch! 😉
