John Jorgensen is a national treasure. He also is a great clarinet player. Multi talented musician
Another fella I could listen to all day. Thanks.
John is a great musician and an inspiration. He did a great job bridging all the eras of music through to today.
In 1988, when I started singing in clubs with "Wasted Acres", this band was hot. We covered "Summer Wind",
"She Don't Love Nobody", and "Hello Trouble" and others. I was SO EXCITED because we had excellent 3 part
harmonies and killer veteran musicians, including a great Steel player. We could do D.R.B. justice! Loved it!
I will never forget those days!!! All the bands on our circuit were playing Restless Heart songs, but D.R.B.
gave Restless Heart a run for their money!! I wish they had stayed together. One of my favorites, and truly
under rated in my opinion. They were flawless! Great interview Joe!
Thanks for sharing your comments Neig… Joe
Brilliant!!!
Just recently started watching these. They are great interviews. Desert Rose Band is all my all time fav band from the 80's. John Jorgensen is a great session musician & great guitar player who's career i always followed.
Thanks for watching Evan…..Joe
The Byrd's & The Desert Rose Band are my two all time favorites. Great Musicians all.
John is a sweetheart of a guy. Been blessed to not only work on his signature Takamine, but talk with him a few times, even running into him at the Nashville airport Halloween 2019
Great musician, great interview Joe. Love this series. Thank you.
Thanks G…. Joe
John Jorgenson is a complete professional
I was lucky to have seen Desert Rose Band ....good memories. Love to hear a musician get excited talking about music and players
Happy to have found this interview
Thanks for watching James….. Joe
Love this!!!
Really good series, Joe!
Thanks 12……Joe
Loved this series of interviews with Mr. John Jorgenson. I have to say DRB was like the soundtrack to my life back in 1988. Did see them in a small club back then and they were awesome. What I learned was - first of all what an incredibly nice, considerate, intelligent, thoughtful guy he is. The kind of guy you'd like to be sitting next to in an airplane. Secondly, how the "sound" of DRB seems to have come from his ideas - I loved that way of putting it - of merging the British rock "Pretenders" sound with that of country. I think someone else has mentioned this - OK DRB wasn't the same as "The Byrds" - but OTOH they did sort of grab you the way the Byrds did - the music had an immediacy to it just like the Byrds did. Also learned a ton about Django from him - didn't know he played him in a movie - that would allow one to really immerse onself in the details of the story. Finally he seems to have an encyclopedic knowledge of music, the gear, the people, the business. In short - great set of interviews Joe.
Thanks RD…. Joe
GREAT GUEST JOE..THANKS!
Another great one Joe! NOBODY else is doing with as much pepper as you have put into these interviews.
What your doing is possibly the most important chronicles on modern contemporary music ever done by anyone.
Many thanks Popo…… Joe
Great interview/stories. The evolution of music is amazing...The Byrds through The Desert Rose Band and beyond. We just saw Branford Marsalis's quartet. The interaction between the band members was beautiful. Music is the best.
Fantastic video, John is such a nice guy and an absolute legend
Great interview Joe. I was at that Palamino show John mentioned, didn't know any of the backstory but it was a great show.
Thanks Paul…joe
Thank you Joe.
Thanks Tom……..Joe
I booked DRB at a couple of venues where I was buying talent. What is never mentioned is how great a harmony singer John is. Check out DRB Love Reunited. John singing tenor to Chris.
I agree, 100%, with you about John's singing. :)
Always loved John’s music. He strikes me as a really bright guy and of course a great talent. I’ll have to watch the other interviews as well. Keep up the good work Joe. Always entertaining and informative.
Thank you Brian…..Joe
Great stuff, as always. Thank you, Joe.
Thanks Al…. Joe
This is gold, Joe. John is such a talent and seems like a super nice guy.
I want to find one of those sparklys!!
Thanks for watching Roger…. Joe
G&L had spectacular metal flake paint jobs in that era.
This is a most awesome interview.. thanks for posting it!
These guys are a national treasure!
This series of interviews is the one I've been waiting for. DRB is one of my favorite bands. I'm not a huge country music fan, but these guys were great. Their attention to detail was fantastic. Those harmonies were incredible, and the musicianship was unbelievable. One of the reasons I loved them so much was because of Jonn Jorgensen. What a great musician. He's incredible. Thanks for interviewing him.
Thanks for watching too… Joe
That was so awesome, John Jorgensen was the reason I play through Matchless amps and G and L guitars! Still one of the greatest bands ever. Thank you so much for such a awesome interview. You always have a greatest.
Thanks David….. Joe
Thank you Joe for part 3. Absolutely amazing, and i learned a lot.
Thanks Ivan… glad you’re enjoying them. Best, Joe
Speaking of the DRB, I was hanging on the BEST channel on SiriusXM, 349, Dwight Yoakum's Music Channel and on comes the DRB. I forget what song, and I haven't heard them for years BUT I immediately knew it was them. What a sound. Killer Pedal Steel and Mandolin playing, 2 chorus instrumental solos. World Class singing and playing. I can't wait for the story about how John landed the gig with Elton John. Thanks Joe for this series.
Thanks for watching too Spyder…. joe
just when I thought this interview couldnt possibly get any better,,,,,and wham,,it does,,,AWESOME
Joe, nothing like watching two guitar guys having a love fest! Looking forward to more! Thanks for sharing!💫
As always thank you Larry…. Joe
Absolutely worth the wait. I'm glad you're parting it out. It gives me time to appreciate each 'chapter'

I met and spent a little time talking with Bobby Neal. At the time he was the Lead player for Bill Haney an Elvis performer from Memphis. Bobby was telling me that he just Joined the Ricky Nelson band and was joining him the very next week. He was a nice guy. did you know him Joe? Great interview series with John.
No I never met Bobby… best, Joe
More great stuff. It goes to show that a guitar is not just A GUITAR (like I always thought). Interesting history from a guy who lived it.
Another fantastic one, Joe. Love the job you do as a host/interviewer. Less is more is how I would describe it & it works.
Thanks for watching C………Joe
Wow, i mentioned the Brad Paisley thing in part two. I'm surprised that John mentioned that. I was there.
Wow! Joe, great interview. You know when to ask and when to listen. Really enjoyed , can’t wait for part 4. Also, planning a visit to your Museum. Great stuff
Look forward to seeing you here James… Joe
Hi Joe, you and John are a great combo!
Thanks Gary… I appreciate it…Joe
A true treaure...thank u both so much
Awesome 👍
Yes!! I agree with everyone else--great series Joe❣
Thanks Lucky…Joe
I have met John a number of times and you will not find anybody more friendly, approachable and kind than he is- and nobody as talented on so many disparate instruments! I recall at one of his gigs in a small Gypsy Jazz club, I met Hank Marvin- John gets the greats to his gigs! I was lucky enough to see Chris Hillman with Bernie Leadon, Al Perkins and Bill Bryson in a pub called the Half Moon in Putney nearly 40 years ago. That was an amazing concert and I can recall that Bernie said it was a mile down the road in Barnes at Olympic Studios that he had recorded the debut Eagles album about ten years earlier. Time sure does fly.
Thanks for sharing your memories Nick…. Best, Joe
Very cool history here. The lineage of it all, the big names but also mention of Dave Edmunds...and Billy Zoom! (didn't see that one coming!). What a kick....
Great stories
Thanks for watching Tracy….Joe
He is an excellent guitarist
Im really enjoying these. Great stuff!!! When is part 4 coming?
Hi 311…. Thanks for watching… part 4 later this week…. Best, Joe
@@MusiciansHallofFameMuseum Thank You, cant wait. Gonna be good.
I was hoping to learn about The Desert Rose Band but all I heard about were various brands of guitars.
YA JOE!!
🧡
I'll join the other commenters here in thanking you, Joe, for a great series with John Jorgenson and the other great musicians you've interviewed. Do you specifically interview musicians who have been inducted into the Musicians Hall of Fame, or is that not a criterion?
Thanks for watching John… no being inducted is not a requirement. Sometimes they do end up being inducted but you don’t have to be to be interviewed or to have a exhibit in the museum. Best, Joe
Best bad ever.
DRB are the GOATS
👍
Lol.... he is certainly full of himself 😅😅 I've heard him many times but not an innovative musician....
👍
Thanks for watching Dave…..Best…..Joe
