I feel like being angry about the discrimination against Syrian and Afghan refugees. But why is no one talking about how non of the prosperous Middle East countries have taken not even one refugee . A true refugee stops in the nearest safe country. Tens of thousand syrians have travelled through several safe countries because aimed for Europe's free hand outs. In most of the safe countries around Syria they would have had to start from the scratch and most important, GOD forbid, work. Once in Europe they headed directly for the richest countries with the intention of abusing the welfare system.
I will always remember the answer of a syrian refugee arrived in the UK when asked how would he sponsor his dream of becoming an actor - the government will pay for me.

A lot of refugees would rather stay in their country but are forced out by war, oppression etc... a lot of syrians were well off in Syria but were forced to leave. Also some people have relatives in certain countries do would prefer to live near them.

You forgot to mention why these Syrian refugees have not stopped in the first safe country and travelled all the way to Poland. With no intention to stay in Poland too. Why travelling so far to Europe when Saudi Arabia, Pakistan or India are much much closer. And there is no war in there.

These issues are way more deep and complex then just black and white but my take on this is : First of all Ukrainians like rest of East European countries are the same people and as human's for good or bad we always trust more our own then others . For countries like Poland or Hungary or others is much easer to trust and understand refugees from Ukraine then Afghanistan or Iraq as I am sure is the same for middle eastern countries as well . They can deal with refugees from their neighbor countries much better then lets say from European or South Asian countries and yes religion and culture play a big part of all this . Secondly when you look at the mass refugees from Middle East you see 95% young , perfectly healthy men and 5% women and children's which in my mind is very strange and I am sure even stranger in the mind of the countries they want to seek asylum but when you look at refugees from Ukraine you see almost 100% women and children's and elderlies because men's stay to fight as they should . But the most important point is that Ukrainian's don't walk to other side of world or they don't target any specific countries to go and seek asylum right ? they take the closes SAFE country and that's it but when you see the mass refugees from Syria or Afghanistan or Somalia walking from one part of the world all the way trough many SAFE countries which they can stay but continue to Greece and into East European countries hoping to get into for example Germany or Denmark or Austria then I think something sneaky going on here .
