Yes, Catriona Gray won Best in Swim and Evening Gown in 2018 and she got BB Pilipinas Universe. Gabby Basiano won Best in Swim and Evening Gown in 2022 and she got Bb. Pilipinas Intercontinental. Janicel Lubina won Best in Swim and Evening Gown in 2015 and got Bb Pilipinas International 2015.
and Janina San Miguel, as well as Nina Alagao if I remember correctly.
Janicel is now still able to compete for MU PH and get a shot at MU.

If you win best in swim and best in gown, youre getting the top crown. If Janina didn’t eff up her qna she would have gotten Universe for sure.

I will always pray for that. Im sure she is the super super tough judge in overall aspect of the pageant especially during the Q and A portion. But whats good is that she is more than capable than most people to choose the woman to represent Philippines in the international stage.
If Dani will be in the pannel of judges for the next Bb Pilipinas expect also the next filipina to win the title for Miss International.

what was really satisfying for me was how well the four queens’ evening gowns coordinated with each other ! the pastels looked amazing, and even more beautiful together with their crowns and bouquets !!

Both Myrnas are also from the same province - Pampanga although the current winner represented her other parent’s province Abra because she was only a runner up in Miss Pampanga contest. The other winner - bb Pilipinas Globe is Miss Pampanga.
Myrna was a clear standout from day 1, I'm very happy she won💃💃💃❣️

I love that BBP went back to their older format where they don’t have a preliminary competition. Although the segments are longer, it makes the competition a lot more exciting. ❤

The most insane highlight of Binibining Pilipinas 60 for me is that, for the first time ever, we saw all four Miss Universe winners from the Philippines together on stage. I don’t know when that will ever happen again. That, as well as seeing the titleholders from other international pageants, is mindblowing and something to really be proud of. 🎉

6:03 -- The last time all 40 women were shown in both SS and EG rounds was in 2016. From 2017-2023, there was first cut (eg: Top 25, Top 13, etc) prior to the SS round. It's very nice to see ALL 40 women on stage with their respective shining moments.

Filipinos are very accommodating and hospitable. I’m sure they’ll be so happy to see you either at the Binibining Pilipinas or Miss Universe Philippines. Luis Porteles has connections already so he’ll take you with him.

The Philippines have an amazing monster passion for pageantry, treating like it’s a sport (like soccer, baseball, basketball, etc.) and this year’s national pageant really showed by honoring the queens of the past, cherishing the legacy and I’m all for it.
The Miss USA one on the other hand, it’s stripped down to the very bare minimum and shows it’s laziness to improve (much like Vince Mcmahon’s Post Monday Night War WWE).
That’s why Philippines is considered the powerhouse in pageantry🇵🇭
BBP contestants are higher-caliber than any other pageants in the Philippines. Production was superb. Kudos to BBP. I love them.

That's correct. Myrna Panlilio-Borromeo was indeed the first Binibining Pilipinas titleholder, crowned in 1964. During that time, the main title was simply "Binibining Pilipinas," and the winner would represent the Philippines in the Miss Universe pageant. The title "Miss Philippines" was used for the country's representative to the Miss International pageant.
It was only in the mid-1970s that the Binibining Pilipinas Charities, Inc. (BPCI) started to differentiate the titles further by explicitly using "Bb. Pilipinas Universe," "Bb. Pilipinas International," and eventually adding other titles like "Bb. Pilipinas Supranational," "Bb. Pilipinas Intercontinental," and "Bb. Pilipinas Grand International" to represent the country in various international beauty contests. This change allowed for a clearer distinction among the representatives for different global pageants.
Catriona Gray's miss universe 2018 won best in swimsuit and best in long gown also Binibining Pilipinas Intercontinental 2022 Gabrielle Basiano won both best in swimsuit and best in long gown too

Hi Dani, the two winners '24 Bb Pililipas INTERNATIONAL & Globe are both from my hometown ANGELES CITY, PAMPANGA. and newly crowd Miss Universe Great Britain was also candidate Bb Pililipas 2024.
Miss Universe GB Christina Chalk is a former candidate of MUPH2024 not Bb.Pilipinas2024
We have 6 Miss International , the very first is Gemma Cruz Araneta . She won in 1960 but she didn’t belong to BINIBINING Pilipinas.
Gemma actually won in 1964. However, BBP only acquired the International franchise kn 1965, on it second edition.

10:15 Yes, almost 3/4 (or 75%) of the contestants' winning "Best in Swimsuit and/or Eve. Gown" , or BOTH, would almost always win the Bb, Pilipinas Universe or World titles back in the 90s though, after 2011, it would either be BBP INTL or MUPH that ends up being won to such special awards winners-- that was until after 2019.
Another fun fact, Catriona won best in swim and gown in 2018. While Gabrielle Basiano won both awards in 2022

11:28 True, Ms. Diaz gave that impromptu "follow-up question" because the candidate was unable to answer Diaz's first question (about "physical asset"), most likely to at least help the girl recoup. Some fans did also notice that a few of the girls gave templated or memorized (canned) answers that sounded not-so sincere. 😞
most of winners of best in swimsuit in the past won Binibining Pilipinas Universe and most of winners of best in long gown won Binibining pilipinas world in the past.
There’s actually been a lot of past winners who bagged either best in swimsuit or evening gown, and there’s a few who bagged them both along with a bb pilipinas title.

Novotel Hotel is just beside the Araneta coliseum, and Araneta city is a shopping district you can't even finish shopping in one week 🤣 If you chat with Luis Portelles and Tita Lavinia of Titas of Pageantry, you can do a collab with them and maybe score a backstage correspondence stint from Madam Stella 😅

This edition also saw the first time that all four Miss Universe winners were together in one frame and event. Pia also returned to the pageant since pandemic. Another fact, our very first Miss International winner Gemma Cruz was not present as she was a titleholder of the Miss Philippines pageant but I heard she was present in Binibining Pilipinas 1965 to crown her successor. Regarding the opening dresses of the candidates, it actually reminded me of the evening gown worn by Venus Raj in Miss Universe 2010. I hope to see you visit the Philippines for our pageants one day. You'll surely enjoy it here.

10:12 If you think about it, Ms. Diaz's question was quite practical and realistic. NO offense meant but the candidate gave a somewhat templated (if not pageanty-ish) answer that sounded way too rehearsed, hence somewhat insincere. Ms. Diaz even tried to help her recoup by thronwing in a last-minute follow-up question.

Danni is correct, only 5 out of 6 Miss International from PH is from Bb. Pilipinas, Gemma Cruz MI 1964 is from another organization.

Miss Dani just want to add some facts. The 5 Miss International winners from the Philippines were only the product from Bb. Pilipinas (BPCI) which started in the year 1964. HOWEVER, PRIOR TO THAT YEAR, "Miss Philippines" back then was sponsored by the City of Manila and the winner was sent to Miss International Pageant held in Long Beach, California, USA in 1964 and she won. She is the FIRST FILIPINA AND ASIAN who wins Miss International in the person of GEMMA TERESA CRUZ ARANETA , our "1964 MISS INTERNATIONAL". (Pls. check wikipedia). Thus, Philippines has a total of 6 MISS INTERNATIONAL WINNERS TO DATE.

si many people think that if you got the best in swim and gown you will get any of the crown.. but for me? no, because number 40 really did a great performance, because she was very consistent from day 1 to final.. you should watch the press presentation and she nailed the swimsuit.. also watch the national costume where they also performed their evening gown and she nailed it again.. she was very consistent..
But winning both would be an advantage, because we don’t really know how BBP scores the queen, but as far as i know it is a cumulative scoring throughout the pageant. So there will be an edge. It’s either you do very well and get the title or you manage to nail da Q and A round just like what Ms. Pampanga did.
