I've used the purcell prusik system for personal retention in both climbing and work positioning settings for a while now. I would love to hear more views on it's application to fall arrest. For the former applications I'm transitioning to a pair of Petzl Connect Adjust lanyards.
I'm honestly not the guy to ask about those specifics. I'll see about getting a PJ in the comments to answer that question, because they are much more knowledgeable in arena you are asking that question. I know how to build them and I know some of the safety concerns with the different systems that can be employed for retention. I'm simply the conduit that put together the video on how to build them and some of the why's behind the madness. I have my personal preference for lanyards outside that I'm going to defer to the guys that work with them more than I do.
Either Or I’ve used both it’s really up to the individual and what their preference is most of the manufactured lanyards have one or the others or both for the tactical application
I wish I had seen this before I spent the 100+ on an actual lanyard. I've had one for years instead of using the GRH in my humvee and Maxxpro, and as useful as it is, I would have loved to have seen this back before I bought it, would have saved me some money
We are waiting to hear back. We're in communication with a couple of PJ's and other Operators for updates on this video as there is some debate on the setup of the system. Some guys agree and some guys disagree with tying the lanyard straight into the belt vs having an addition shackle or carabiner on the lanyard.
Since here where I'm from (argentina) , Amazon and other Stores don't get here (you can buy stuff, but it will be stuck at the border for some weeks before you get them +90% taxes), i would thank anyone who could tell me what kind of material or "popular name" has this type or a recommended type of rope to use for this! For a little context, i work as a forest ranger and i would like to make this to have a back-up for safety "just in case". I also don't have weeks to order and wait for new gear from abroad....
Money saving? After watching this series I just dropped like $100 on Amazon. Great content. Keep it up!
😂 I know it may not seem like it initially but you’ll see over time 🤙🏻
We have more content on the way
More content coming for sure
You can use a double fisherman’s knot instead of a figure 8 when you have less than 12 feet of cord

Great system. I do the same, but with a double fisherman’s instead of and 8. All preference, but this PAS Is great.
The internet would love the 2 minute version of this video 😉
I need to make some updates to this video so I may do that
Cool stuff! Just a clarification at 4:05 it's a Kong Tango, not a Frog (which is a clipping device for cables or climbing anchors).

In place of the BFK, why not use double fisherman's?
Did you ever get ahold of some of the safety info on this ???

THIS IS AWESOME, i just got the supplies to build mine, THANKS
Great!
I’ve been tossing around ideas for how to make an adjustable breaching shotgun tether out of some 550 cord. This will work for that I believe.
Let us know how it works out

Can this accessory rope still be safe to use as a helo retention lanyard rather than dynamic rope?
I haven't had any issues with it
Me: Finally gets the prusik knot after 20 mins
Legion: If you're using a kong caribener, pass the big loop through BEFORE
smh 😂
LOL ;)
Excellent, thank you!
You’re welcome !
Awesome 👏🏻
Thanks 🤗
