Now that you'r at this point with the movies, we recomend you react to the Sam Raimi's "Spider-Man" trilogy (2002- 2007) and the Marc Webb's "The Amazing Spider-Man" Duology (2012-2014). At certain point in the succecion of events, they will make a certain homenages to those films that you can apreciate more if you watch it. (Don't spoilers to those who knows please ;) )

The perfect antidote for Endgame (which I also loved), bringing back the sense of joy…and then ending with that giant sting in the tail.
Since this was the third iteration of Spider-Man films, they played really fast and loose with the supporting cast, not only with the casting (in the comics, MJ isn't black, Liz isn't Indian, Ned isn't Filipino, and Flash isn't Persian), but placing everyone in high school, whereas originally (as seen in the Tobey Maguire films), Betty was Jameson's secretary and Ned was a reporter.
And in the comics, Betty and Ned were married for about 25 years' worth of issues, so it's adorable to see the "summer fling" between such very different versions of the characters.
(I love how they break up because they're "different people"…in a scene where they are wearing matching shirts and finishing each other's sentences. Lol, totally different, indeed.)

Those fuzzy hat guards are not ceremonial. They are the King's Guards (Queen's Guards at the time of the movie) and as such are armed and tasked with guarding the monarchy. A subset of this unit guards the Tower of London - the Yeomen of the Guard, also known as the Beefeaters. If you're familiar with the gin, you know that they aren't dressed like the fuzzy hat guards, but I think the movie had them in the fuzzy hats so American audiences wouldn't be confused.

About BARF: as Quentin said, Tony remade (and probably improved, considering who we are talking about) Beck's initial design. And so, while the initial project might have been Beck's, the newer project birthing from that one was likely all Tony's. Moreover, Beck worked for SI, most likely with a team, and he designed his BARF under the company name. So it was a property of the company and Tony didn't steal anything (saying that because some fans think that) by taking Beck's idea and improving on it to help others.

As a lifelong Spider-Man fan, I was very familiar with Mysterio going in, from the comics to the games to the cartoons. The master of illusion. Yet, before the big reveal, I was convinced they were doing something different with him. I thought "oh this is new, but maybe he gets his villain arc in this movie?" Nope, just fell for the illusion. It helps that Earth 616 and 833 are real concepts in the comics, 616 being the _main_ Marvel universe where most characters were created and operate in. With Spider-verse fresh in people's minds and Marvel teasing the idea of a multiverse, it was easy to believe.
The Mysterio scene at the warehouse was perhaps the best scene in the MCU for me at the time, even more trippy than the Dr. Strange one. I'd waited for years to see a live action interpretation of Mysterio's illusions, and they absolutely delivered.
Also, while simply not looking isn't enough to completely do away with Mysterio's illusions, the hero Daredevil (who is blind) is known to not fall for them because he too has a sixth sense, and no vision to be confused by.
The next movie in the trilogy is my favorite, it's definitely a mind-blower.

I have been a fan of Spider-Man since 1986. Since 1995, I have been a fan of Mysterio. Through various parallels, Spider-Man: Far From Home resembles Mysterio's initial introduction in Marvel Comics. Spider-Man: Far From Home perfectly translates to Mysterio's debut in Marvel Comics. The movie flawlessly captures the character's core essence and motivations and skillfully modernizes the narrative for today's audience. Mysterio's debut: In both the comic books and the movie, Mysterio is presented as an enigmatic character who asserts to possess extraordinary abilities. Although he seems to be a heroic figure, there is an air of doubt surrounding him. Mysterio presents Spider-Man with a formidable challenge - a public duel in both the comics and the film. Mysterio firmly believes that Spider-Man is a deceitful imposter; his ultimate goal is to unveil this truth to the entire world. Mysterio's utilization of illusions: Mysterio possesses exceptional skills in creating illusions, employing them to deceive and manipulate Spider-Man. Mysterio crafts intricate illusions in the comics or the film that instigate doubt within Spider-Man's perception of reality. Mysterio's genuine intentions: Despite his seemingly heroic facade, Mysterio is indeed a malevolent character. His ulterior motives are driven by self-interest, and he is unhesitant to employ deceit and manipulation to accomplish his objectives. This revelation is evident in both the comic books and the cinematic adaptation.

Comics fans like myself didn't buy it entirely -- we all knew that Mysterio was a long-time nemesis of Spidey's -- but we also knew how the MCU likes to do things differently. For myself, I wasn't sure how it would turn out until Mysterio dropped the illusions and showed his true colours.
It wasn't all of Tony's former workers who threw in with Beck and turned against Peter -- just the most disgruntled ones. Happy sure didn't join them, and I'm sure many others didn't, either. Although seeing that many former Stark employees ganging up on a kid and his classmates was awfully disheartening.
Your wholehearted smiles at the romantic moments were so endearing. And I loved your laugh when Peter mis-identified the AC/DC song. Keep up the great work!

Happy December! 💗 I really love this film, it acts as a second goodbye to Tony and other characters :) (There is a third Spiderman movie, and I am sure like everyone watching - if you haven't watched Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield's set of Spiderman films it would be beneficial before watching Tom Holland's next instalment!) 💞 If you are planning on watching the Disney+ shows - they definitely feed into future films! xx

And if you're wondering what happened to all the people who flipped back that were in planes or elevator Bruce put them all on the ground that's why it took so long for him to snap his fingers. The end of The Infinity Saga, hell of a ride, and I've really enjoyed your reactions. But luckily a new saga starts in Phase 4 and we got the TV shows to start adding to the bunch. BUT you may also want to watch Sam Raimi's Spider-Man trilogy, The Amazing Spider-Man movies. You didn't include the line in this cut but one of the first hints that Nick Fury is not Nick Fury comes WAY early in the movie, when Peter asks why other super heroes can't fight the elementals...he suggests Captain Marvel and "Fury" says "Don't invoke her name." Remember to the Skrulls, especially Talos, Carol is a savior of their race.
So I don't know what your plan is for coverage or if you do somethings Patreon only, and I don't know if any of your other viewers have mentioned this... but during Phase 3, between Age of Ultron and Infinity War, there were 5 MCU shows and a miniseries that were not part of the "phase," they were essentially a side story to the Infinity Saga... Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, The Punisher and the miniseries The Defenders, incorporating all the characters. I don't know what if your plan for viewing is, but you should PROBABLY watch at least the first couple of episodes of Daredevil before you get too deep into Phase 4 ... specifically before the 3rd Spider-Film. Even if you don't watch for your channel but just on your own, might be a good idea ;)

15:39 It very much depends on the universe.
    Alternate Timelines:
There's universes that diverge from the mainline comics (Earth-616) where everything up to the time of divergence is the same, acting as an alternate timeline. A great example is Mutant X (Earth-1298) version of Spider-Man. In the mainline comics Spider-Man grows four extra arms but in the end he's able to cure himself depicted in Amazing Spider-Man #102. But Mutant X Peter diverges from this path and instead embraces the extra arms even renaming himself to Man-Spider. This action creates a new universe.
Another example is the What if...? comics where events from the mainline comics played out differently. Like what If Captain America became President instead of refusing the offer. What If Wolverine killed the Hulk in his first appearance. What If Uncle Ben lived etc. These can be seen as alternate timelines that diverges from the events we know from the comics.
    Possible Futures:
Then there's universes like Spider-Man 2099 (Earth-928) where it's seen as a possible future of Earth-616. Massive all out war between Mutants and Humanity with massive loses on both sides. Story jumps to the year 2099 where we have Spider-Man 2099, Miguel O'Hara. The divergence being this massive Mutant VS Human conflict that created a new future, everything before this was the same as the mainline comics.
Days of Future Past (Earth-811) is similar depicting a possible future where the Mutant hunting Sentinels rule North America and have wiped out not only Mutants but Superhero's as well becoming this Terminator like future where humans and Mutants are put in concentration camps. Marvel likes to place futures in alternate timelines as this means that Marvel don't have one set future for it's main universe.
    Separate Universes:
Then we have universes like Earth-1610 also known as the Ultimate Universe. This was a re-imagined and modernized new continuity starting in the year 2000 with Ultimate Spider-Man. Spider-Man's origin was similar but just set during the 2000s. Some characters like Iron Man had whole new origins like how this Tony Stark had a brain tumor instead of damage to his chest.
The Avengers were called The Ultimates and were more of a government controlled force. Characters origins were connected closely to the Super Soldier Serum such as the Spider that bite Peter Parker to the creation of the Hulk being born from Banner testing a Super Soldier Serum on him. Everyone wanted to try and re-create the Super Soldier Serum, something the MCU used for the origin of it's Hulk. And character designs were reworked and changed from visual appearance to there outfits.
The Ultimate Universe being a whole new continuity means it has zero narrative ties to the events of the Mainline Universe so there's no divergence point, it's not an alternate timeline but a whole differant universe from the beginning. This is the same with the MCU as well in relation to the comics.
    Earth-833:
In this film Mysterio mentions that's he's from Earth-833 (Coincidence) a universe home to William "Billy" Braddock, Spider-UK. We never visit this reality in the comics so we can't say how similar it is to Earth-616.

    @Logan_Baron 6 месяцев назад

The question of the people blipped out of and back onto an airplane that wasn't there anymore. It was stated in background material that everyone was blipped back to a nearby safe place. So no blipping in thousands of feet in the air. There are still bad repurcusions from the blip back though. Like May mentioned that she was blipped back to an apartment that someone else had moved into. There would be lots of that. The people that died when others blipped out like from a pilotless helicopter and car crashes are still dead. Some people remarried only to have their old spouses blip back.

    • @reactswithjax
