Yeah thank you for allowing is to relax with these movies. The stress of today is enough to kill you so watching these good oldies brings back the good days.
OMG! Where have I been? I grew up in the 50's and my dad used to take me Sunday afternoon to the movies to see all these fab films. I'm presently in heaven watching on my tablet. Thank u for ur ability to give us all this gift of film regardless of our technical understanding of the present format. Love
As a kid growing up in the 50's I only knew Fred MacMurray from his Disney movies and My Three Sons... so as an adult, it's wonderful watching his film noir roles. Thanks for uploading this gem. :)
We had a guy die doing drugs with his buddies on the 5th floor (of 100 apartments) - they were so scared they'd get arrested, they put a hat and sunglasses on him, put him in a wheelchair, and parked him in the alley behind our building.
Ok, now that I have seen the whole movie, this would have been a great start to a series of movies. These two, as married crimefighters, would have been a big hit.
"But they couldn't hold me. I broke out when I was five." MacMurray can pull lines like that off with a straight face, that's why he earned the big bucks.
I just love Fred MacMurray. This was one of his films I'd never seen before, thanks for adding it!! If you like Fred Macmurray in comedy and you can ever find the movie "No Time for Love" give it a try, it's a favorite of mine and very underrated
That first canteen scene almost looks like a bad imitation of a scene from I Love Lucy. Raymond Burr was an excellent heavy, though I have seen 1 or 2 movies where he pulled off subtle comedy fairly well, so it's surprising that he would be most famous for the role of a lawyer. If there had been such shows in the 50s-60s he would have been great as one of those cops who lives by his own rules. The kind of cop we have seen in movies and on tv since Dirty Harry. And Fred MacMurray? VERY GOOD as a heavy, such a supremely versatile actor.
From 1:01:37 to 1:01:59 - that may very well be the finest dead-stick landing ever recorded on film. With a side-slip compensating for the crosswind in order to line up with the curved beach, the pilot floats it in and ends up posing the plane directly in front of and facing the camera with a flourish. Its impeccable.
GREAT MOVIE! I forget that Fred MacMurray had a whole film career other than the My Three Sons TV show.Borderline has some good comedy moments with Fred and the great Claire Trevor. Another one of those treasures that needs to be seen and recognized
This film features both Raymond Burr and Morris Ankrum who often played the judge who presided over many of the cases that Perry Mason handled, for the first time
One of the better/more unique endings in film noir. Trevor was great in "Born to Kill" & "Murder my Sweet". MacMurray of course in "Double Indemnity". Raymond Burr in a collection of noir movies. He's a menacing character and physically huge. An "A" noir movie for sure.
Many thanks for the upload, PizzaFlix. Trevor and MacMurray were two very reliable stars, and Hollywood loved to set up male-female contention in which the feisty woman achieves on-screen equality beyond most women's actual experience back then. Avoiding censorship, such jokey tension could be a surrogate for sex, though an audience might assume the couple were, or soon would be, romantically involved. Examples were Robert Donat / Madeleine Carroll, William Powell / Myrna Loy, Katharine Hepburn / Cary Grant, Humphrey Bogart / Lauren Bacall, Doris Day / Rock Hudson. I loved the witty moments here, chemistry that could have developed into a series.
About half way through Fred MacMurray finally became himself, in my reoriented mind, instead of Lee Marvin (who should have made more pictures like this one). Claire Trevor is a real cutie; I agree that she's too "clean" for such sultry work. The major bad guys looked more like community-pillar trial lawyer and bank president but, what the heck, the whole cast made a good play. Very enjoyable story, beautiful sets, nice range of Mexican actors and culture. Would like to have seen more animals in the picture; especially that tigers, who "eat like horses," growling in the background for their ration of horse meat. To make the viewing experience perfect, a plate of hot Mexican food and an ice-cold Corona, is called for --- a fine cigar to follow. Thanks Pizza Flix.
For the era, I'm happy to see they didn't go as heavy on the Mexican stereotypes as they could have. There were a few like "speaking Mexican" and the drunk Mexican. But they acknowledged the American involvement in drug smuggling and that there are some professional Mexican police officers and the two American leads knew at least some Spanish. Bravo 1950. You have much to teach the America of today about U.S./Mexican relations! 👏👏👏👏
This flic is a real classic!!! The greats Claire Trevor, Burr (Perry Mason), and McMurray. In case you didn t know Miguel is Cantinflas , a legendary entertaniment figure in Latin America. McMurray & Claire really handle themselves in the Spanish language. Claire sounds like she is more bilingual. She is playing an outlaw drug runner with McMurray and they both play outstanding roles. BTW, Claire Trevor is a real classy & great looking Hollywood star. She reminds me of the great Rita Heyworth. Raymond Burr as always, plays a very convincing role. This flic is worth watching several times. TY 4 the great dnload.
Claire Trevor is very good isn't she? I remember her for the great performance she gave in Key Largo. MacMurray is good. Good supporting performances too from the Mexican actors ... Crikey can we say that now without falling foul of political correctness?? haha!
This is a very funny movie. And I like the use of smoke, steam and dust as continuity. Top-notch photography, direction, mis-en-scene and acting.. But I kinda wish they had used the parrot as a comic or dramatic element. Such potential.
Watched a documentary about Baby Rose Mary which made me miss my Mom which made me want a old black and white movie cause that's what she'd watch while rocking me to sleep mostly.

It was weird then too. Raymond Burr was Gay. No kissing scenes.

Double Indemnity!!
Zanichbug “The Apartment” and many others.
I prefer his early romantic comedy stuff from the 30's-40's.
"The Apartment" was one of the great movies. "Shut up and deal" was the best ending line ever.
Absolutely love these old movies. Used to have TCM with cable got to expensive. Thanks so much for your channel and these golden classics.
I’m always momentarily surprised to see Raymond burr walking - I keep the image of him in the “Ironsides” armchair !! Silly boy I am.
Thoroughly enjoyed this movie. The main actors worked well together. And it’s always nice to see familiar characters like Charles

Fred had a long, tall career and was a hell of a TV dad when it came down to it. I miss the clarity of the times.
It wasn't until he played in My Three Sons did Walt Disney think he was good enough to star in a Disney movie.
Great film. The dialogue is very sharp and funny at times, and the scenario very cleverly turned out. Beautiful black and white film too.

Great Fred MacMurray classic!!! He was such a stand-out actor, in every way! Great t.v. work also!
I love the scene when the two are trying to act like hardened criminals talking about their dark past.
Delightful crime film with plenty of humor. Claire Trevor was a treasure!
It started out as a standard noir and morphed into a Frank Capra romance. 🌹
Great, fun twists at the end. It's worth sticking around for the whole movie.
