- Lara Trump, who is the co-chair of the Republican National Committee, and is married to former President Donald Trump's son Eric, spoke Tuesday night at the 2024 Republican National Convention. She said she had a "very different" speech planned, but rewrote it in the wake of the attempted assassination of her father-in-law. "Nothing prepares you for a moment like that," she said.

One of the best speeches of the convention. you were really great, and your delivery was excellent. You covered all the bases humanized him and told us things about him that we never knew. I always felt that he loved America and had a kind heart. Your sincerity and love for him and your family came out in a way that was so sincere and from the heart. I saw your husband sitting there, beaming at you and being so proud. You’re one of the best things that ever happened to that family.
Honestly, it was an incredible speech. No one else has equaled that. But she definitely has the inside view.

Lara gave me goosebumps. I so love Eric and her and I so want him President and her our beautiful, loving FLOTUS! They are my choice since we can't clone President Trump and FLOTUS Melania. My black son and grandsons are voting Trump! For two of them it's the first time, never thought my "politicking" would get through. It didn't! President Trump and his precious family got through❤ And they aren't alone in their "hood!"
