What a week! I hope you all enjoyed your's as much as I enjoyed mine regardless though welcome to Truck vlog #12! I really enjoyed this one these are some of the most beautiful shots ive got its a true example of why i love my job! In this video I depart Melbourne late(ish) to head for Brisbane. On the way there stopping in all sorts of places to get some rest and food. Hi just want to say that the little town you're trying to think of between Narrabri and Moree is called Bellata, had to stop at the BP the last time I was up that way in the car for fuel, very friendly people who run it.

I remember dad done 2 Melb Bris a week 4 10 yrs mostly with Thorpes /concord park and SCT think that's right abbreviation ..but was go o d cause all his kids live in dubbo that's why he wanted that run ❤ h e drives for K S freighters now he Melb based still going 64

Am amazed at how you guys keep going and the distances you need to travel. Got Beck to Melbourne from trip to Robe. Passed many Collins trucks heading back to Adelaide.

That Shell at Gilglandra while it is popular with the truckies we have found on numerous trips up and down the Newell Highway it is usually the most expensive for fuel. Thanks for the video bro 👍

Great footage as always sir, I felt like I made the trip with you. I have say, when watching you hit those boarder crossings, is it true you cant be coming home to QLD, maybe it's just me? it looks like it. Keep posting, you page is growing. Stay safe on the road. One other thing, please stop smoking, you have a loving growing family to care for. Both my parents were smokers and died from emphysema very painful for them in the end.

Glad you changed that electrical lead . Hopefully your all good now. I made a big mistake one trip to Brisbane from Adelaide ... Got to that little inroad into the BP (at Gundi) and the truck ran out of fuel, . LOL So close and yet so far.

Another great video. I've driven the Newell quite a few times but only on holidays and sticking to daylight.
Very different at night, less traffic makes it less stressful for you guys.
Quick question for you, don't think anyone has asked before:
Do you try to stop for your rest and sleep breaks where there is a toilet? If you need a 💩 very difficult if in a roadside area without one.
Yeah mate as often as I can I stop where a toilet is otherwise it gets a bit hectic haha 👍

I just watched a short vid on your employer DW. The owners seem decent and good people to work for and that is cool and rare that they let you have a passenger... almost 30 years of doing this and only the first company I worked for back in the 90's allowed that and only because that rule was still spreading. Most companies aren't prepared to accept the risk since their insurance won't cover it.

I enjoy watching your videos. Been trying to figure out what the 2 flashing lights are above the dash are ?
That’s what we call a guardian mate it’s an eyesight monitor it manages fatigue by making sure our eyes aren’t shutting if we shut our eyes even just to yawn it sets off alarms and vibrates the seat and alerts the company 👍
And the lights aren’t flashing that’s just how the camera picks it up because it’s infrared

Can you lift the bed to access the locker box I know in the western stars you can and I think the kenworths also have an access panel

@@crossfamilytrucking I used to jackaroo on a station west of Bellata , years ago, so I know it well. Plus we go thru it going to Brisbane a lot these days from central Vic.

That’s guardian a seeing eye camera, for fatigue and distractions let’s management know so they can contact you and see if you are fine or need to sleep

Back in the old days the late 1980's I use to leave Comet on Coode road West Melbourne at 10PM an be backed onto the dock at Comet on Beaudesert road Coopers Plains by 2PM the next day. One driver.
You’re telling me you were doing at least 130kmh and not taking any breaks 😂
I’m not doubting you mate but I done the math and to do 1800km in 14hr your average speed would have to have been 130kmh for that entire 14hr timeframe 😂
@@crossfamilytrucking No 160kph one break. Some times I'd do 2 Bundaberg to Melbourne a week.

What is the thing on top of your dash with the flashing lights?
It’s an eyesight camera mate just manages fatigue it’s not actually flashing it just picks up on infrared like that 👍

If I go over the range during the day I will for sure mate otherwise it’s too dark for the camera 👍

They’re not flashing mate they’re infrared that’s just how the camera picks up on them 👍

Yup usually the wheels are spinning leaving the yard because I’ve spent the last 5days planting my foot trynna get 60ton moving 😂
