This was a great series! Y’all just jumped right in and fixed all the multi-decades idiosyncrasies and turned this into a modern day lovely space for both properties. Fantastic work all the way around!!❤❤❤
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed
Really liked this series, your ability to turn a mess into a very nice finished hardscape is commendable🎉
Glad you enjoyed it! Much appreciated
That whole project turned out excellent. You guys are pros!
TY
WOW! What a difference! Looks terrific.
Thank you!
Great job , the guys on the screed boards are beast
Yes for sure
Turned out great - and, it seems that you encounter more friendly people than you do otherwise. Excellent overall!
Haha yea it's tough work sometimes but we have a good crew. Thanks for watching!
@ Yes you do - those guys are amazing!

Looks amaazing! Tough job given the weird Laguna Beach houses/layout
Laguna is tough but thank you!
Awesome series of vids you and yur team did a dam good job👍
Glad you enjoyed it!
Fantastic stuff, well done to the whole crew!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks!
Great content gentlemen. 💯
Thank you Porky
Excellent work! I’d love to see you finish your videos with before and after shots to really show the amazing transformation you guys do!
Good idea, I'll see what I can do, I think that would be good though
Good work man
Appreciate it
No surprise you got more work in the neighborhood. The people who live around there know what a disaster those two houses were and when they see someone who knows what they're doing and saw the transformation a homeowner will not have anxiety about hiring you. That house @ 222 looks like it needs a whole crew of carpenters on it for a month. Next time I'm in L.B I'll swing by and check it out in person.
Yea check it out. Def needs reframe work. Let me know how it goes
Looking Good. Teamwork 👍
Thanks for watching!
very nice work guys!
Thank you! Cheers!
Very nice e job a lot of tight corridors.
It’s a tight squeeze in those sideyards always
I strait edge everything myself ! Could never get use to having 2 guys on the stick ! The widest I have ever done was 14ft. with a 6-7 inch slump ! Now being 6ft6 I have a pretty wide wing span !
You must be over seas, what country?
I love your guys work it was hard to tell based on the angles but is the 3" connected to the channel drain draining uphill? Will the channel drain work effectively without a pump?
It’s connected to a 3” line going downhill. It works rather nicely
@@OdellCompleteConcrete right on!
@@crunchycherrio cheers!
@Odell Complete Concrete, I'm just curious why you didn't put sleeves around the plumbing lines or water lines in case of expansion or shifting. Great job as always.
We did use sleeves on those lines, it was just tough to see in this video.
At 8:34 it looks like the door was scratched while you pushed on the level. That’s a no-no.
No scratches here
Where does that channel drain connect to? You mention connects to a 3 inch line out to the curb but how do you have enough fall ?
The channel drain connects to a 3" drain line that runs out to the city curb. You can see it at 8:50 mark sticking out of the curb. This hillside is very steep. Plenty of fall
@ good stuff! Love how it turned out
Thank you!
Need you to come to Alabama and do my driveway !
Fly us out we gotcha!
@@OdellCompleteConcrete Man ya'll do great work !!
Thanks hahaha
Must be getting close to the last of the Owens fiberglass/epoxy bar. Mateenbar is working hard to get their product on shelves. HD is one big contract. Lowes is either regional contracts or contracts with each store.
Great to know Mateenbar will make bent forms to order
Never heard of the mateenbar. I’m assuming that’s pink bar as well?
Its great that you have a proper aluminium screed rather than using bits of wood. But its designed for one man to use not two ! See concrete ninja.
Greetings from Australia.
Concrete ninja gets down, he’s a beast
Dad must have the jackhammer attachment. 😅
Yes, I do. In AZ
We use those screeds in Australia. One guy doing on his own.
I’ve noticed that, never figured out why though.
@OdellCompleteConcrete if two guys are doing a one man job, someone is going to get a beating.
Much slower though isn’t it?
Hey man I like the vids. Question, why do people always suggest to pour over compacted gravel? When is it okay to pour on the dirt?
Typically always better to pour over gravel / road base. Depends what your pouring. Clay is usually the worse
Was the driveway apron in the public right of way ? and if so did you need any sort of city inspection/approval ?
These houses are so old and designed very weird. Technically yes and no
No
i am confused about the channel drain, how does it drain out? i see the pvc pipe going towards the curb/street, but it looks like it is going up hill to make it to the curb?
It’s going down hill drastically. Camera may make it appear otherwise but this house is on a big hill
💪💪💪💪💪❤❤❤❤❤👌👌👌👌👌

was wondering why not make rolled curbs where appropriate? seems like the perfect job for it with all the crazy elevations to divert water down hill and to the streets.
Didn’t really need one here
Those top steps by the side of the house there no drain point that would flood be water trap
We have plenty of slope coming out of that side area towards the new driveway
👍👍

This was more like performing surgery. Concrete work is hard on its own, tough on the body, getting slopes right, scheduling the mud and crews etc. If that's not hard enough, this job threw in a few more Gotchas.
1. The site access for big equipment is limited
2. The road access for big equipment is limited
3. The Site has different elevations
4. The roads in neighborhood are all steep hills
5. The plumbing is broken and shallow
6. The House foundations are out of square and deteriorating
7. Failing retaining walls
8. Complaining neighbors
Yes and that’s only a few of the things we encountered on this one!! Not to mention the neighbors complaining about noise everyday and threatening the to call the cops! Luckily we made it out of that one with success.
19m52s the guy in black in the background fell, hope he was okay? Love watching the pros, I just finished a 2.5ft by 2.5ft concrete footing and it looked like crap compared to this.
Didn’t even notice that when editing. That guy is a beast of a finisher! Didn’t say anything to me the whole day and finished out the other driveway with 1 other dude.
what happened to that sewer sinkhole?
What city was this in?It's a guna beach hollywood hills?
Laguna Beach
👍🔨

Nice work-trade. Too bad you can't take the whole crew with you.
True
Eye protection?
What is that
What’s Team!👊🫡👍
Thanks!
First 👍
How much was this job north of 60k?
Bingo
Imagine 2 million for a 2 bed 1 bath home and all your plumbing is exterior.
Haha this is actually a 8 unit property but yea basically
Another beautiful job ❤ praise our Lord Jesus Christ ❤Thank you Lord God for loving us first, you died on the cross and shedding your blood 🩸 for all of mankind‘s sins, thank you Jesus for eternal life. If you would like to know how to go to heaven, when you die, you must first trust that God sent his only begotten son Jesus to die on the cross for your in my sins. Then ask Jesus to come in your heart and save you and read the Bible every day when you wake up first thing in the morning before you do anything and start tithing automatic withdrawal out of your checking account a good ministry to help is Samaritans purse which are helping the fire victims in Los Angeles. I give to them each month to help and then I give to many Ministries that are helping Israel, and other ministries that are helping to feed the less needy. ❤❤❤❤
Thank you, Amen
Why are you cutting the concrete backwards?
Not sure
That's a technique called Moon Walking.
😂
He man have you seen those Asian sledge hammers ?? Apparently those are better
Haven’t seen em what company
@OdellCompleteConcrete flexible sledge hammers no brand
@@ElonMusk-hx8yw oh wow sounds cool
