I think the two biggest problems are (at least what I've witnessed driving ride share and talking to people for years) that many Americans champion stupidity and demonize people who want to learn. They are wrong on the opinion thing. Opinions are 100% subjective take on something and therefore can not be wrong. "the sky is green" is not an opinion it's a statement an objectively incorrect statement. An example of an opinion would be "the sky looks nice today" this is something that can not be objectively refuted, because the bases of the statement is from the subject's point of view.
